Petition for a Private Male space

Just as an FYI, and I could be wrong, but infractions are never removed.

I received one in 2009 and it's never been taken off. I was told they are permanent.

If you're going to earn a correction, then I say, EARN it. :)

We were going through a time where people were posting a lot of threads about subjects that might be seen as controversial, and I happened to be someone who posted such a thread.

I completely respect this site's administration, and had no qualms about it whatsoever. Their site, their rules, no problem.

I was new at the time and becoming accustomed to what was and wasn't allowed.
 
Guys, I hope this starts. You need a place just to talk or discuss certain things. I'm all for it. 100%.

I don't use the women one. I might have posted in it unintentionally, though. But like you, I'm not opposed to it and probably will one day post in it.

That has been done... see the link in my sig.

We had some traction for a while but private chat groups never do seem to last. I log in here and at least once a week I see the notification that there's a chat group in need of my attention. The only moderation it's ever needed is to keep the women folk out of it. Guys join up and don't even bother posting as the discussion never continues on past one or two posts.

Private chat groups get forgotten pretty easily. There would need to be sub forum that was officially sanctioned in order for there to be any traction.

In the mean while, if this is something people truly want, It would be nice if some spiritually healthy guys started posting in that sub group. I had such high hopes for it but it's kind of dead. It doesn't have to be a board where people only unload about struggles with their flesh, or they don't always have to be bad struggles.

I mean, sometimes it's nice to talk to brothers in Christ about the best course of action in one's life and there may be no sin involved at all.


A guy can dream right?

Just a place for Men to discuss man issues. "The Man Cave" sounds like a great title.
 
This is not the place or the way to do this...

I would like to petition that the males on this forum find themselves some tact. Or maybe I'm just unnecessarily bothered.
 
I sense a bit of humor about resisting a "microphone thing." The reason is that this forum is already shallow enough when we actually have time to consider our answers to posts and write them out in as clear a form as we can... then look at what we wrote, changing whatever questionable words or phrases we spot.

What on Earth would it degenerate to it we lost that, and were just reactively blustering back and forth in knee-jerk response? Not to mention the HORRIBLE loss it would be to all the people who like to sound Spiritual by copy/pasting a page and a half of verses in each post.... They would have to resort to reading them to us. (Think of how THAT would be.)

No, I see this as a recipe for disaster. LOL
