John was referring to the miracles Jesus did (there were so many that there would not be enough paper or books to put them in).

But God did put emphasis on those things because He created the Alphabet and gave it to the Hebrew People who have understood this for 5,000+ years.

Every ethnic group has an alphabet. God didn't tell all Christians that they had to know the original languages or numerical value that you're espousing.

As it says in the verses in Isaiah it is imposable for God to create anything void and without form. So something had to happen.

There is a theory that there was a creation prior to to what is seen in Genesis 1:2. This theory is implied by Isaiah 45:18. It is also possible to translate "Was without form" as "Became without form".

God did not give us a nice neat structured Bible. There is much that has to be searched out. I've read a book by Watchman Nee and watched preaching by Larry Ollison. I am convinced that there was a creation that was ruled by Lucifer, who rebelled and became Satan. Lucifer means light bearer. When he rebelled, he fell like lightning, as Jesus said. Lucifer's light was extinguished and so the earth was plunged into darkness. Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 refer to Satan's fall.

The original creation was destroyed by flood, hence the state of the earth when God began to restore it.

I first came across this idea in "The Mystery of Creation" by Watchman Nee. I rings true with me. And no, God cannot lie. If He did, He would cease to be God and we would all be in big trouble. If we have a problem, it is always with our understanding, not with God's word.

Maybe your reading too much about what other people conjure up and not enough of what God actually said!?

My question is; Does the bible start off with a lie or do I just not understand some things? Give me a chance to point out some places that make it seem that way.

“But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and decided that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.””

No they don't.

That's not anywhere in the Bible. If God tells you to study those languages, do so because that is His will for you. But I know God too and He hasn't commanded me to study those languages.

You need to let God be God to all His children and let Him dictate His individual and specific will for each child of God. If you keep insisting on your way instead of God's way in their lives, who do you think will win in that fight? Hint: NOT you.

I said, if they want to know what the words say according to the Hebrew meaning...

I didn't say they must or had to do it.

I said if they want the true meaning then they need to know how God said it in Hebrew to Moses.

But I don't know why someone who loves God wouldn't want to know. I think knowing what God truly said is much better than how I think something means personally. Actually knowing what God truly said opens up more understanding why God did this and did that. But that's just me I want to know what God was really doing in every story I read in the Bible. It helps me get a greater understanding of Who God is.

Verse 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of the water and in the water 6. whereby the world that then was, perished:
Perished. Webster's world dictionary: To be utterly destroyed or ruined.
Peter is laying it out very clearly; I should say that God through Peter is laying it out very clearly that the first earth age Genesis 1:1 did exist. Verse 7 is going to tell us that it perished, and how it perished.
Verse 7. But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and the perdition of ungodly men.
This will be the end of the second earth age; that is the one man has lived in since day 6 when He said let us make man in our image both male and female and let them repopulate the earth.
The 3rd earth age will be when we are with God, Jesus and all the angles here on earth in the final, 3rd earth age.

I’m pretty sure Peter was eluding to God destroying the earth (land) in Noah’s day.
