So, I have a friend, hes been a friend for a very long time now. Hes been a major part of my life, he was even a huge step to helping me find the Lord. Hes always looked out for me in a way that matters, and if it werent for God guiding me to him, I may not be where I am today.
This same friend has been dealing with drug and alcohol addiction for some time now. It has been destroying his life in many ways. Hes tried overcoming it, and for some time hell do well, but he always ends up falling back down.
But, last night something horrible happened. He picked me up from work without my knowing beforehand he was coming. He was clearly under the influence, and he had spoken to my mother before hand and she knew, and tried to keep him from picking me up. She sent him a text telling him she needed me and that he couldnt come get me, but he got there before her and made a big loud scene with cuss words and everything in front of the entire store, including my boss. So I went with him to get him to stop.
We live in Indiana. He drove us far out from the city we live. He often likes to drive in the country so I didnt think anything of it at first. But we ended up passing a "welcome to Illinois" sign after a while, which stressed me out. He wanted to find a place that would sell alcohol on sundays. He finally found a place that sold alcohol, but they wouldnt sell it to him because they didnt sell it on sundays.
He came out in a rage, kicked his car so hard it shook, got into his car and started punching his steering wheel cussing loudly, and we drove off further into Illinois. He started driving at almost 100 miles an hour, saying we should just "kill ourselves", swerving one lane to the other talking about crashing into something.
He was going on about how angry he was they wouldnt sell him beer, and became very angry at me for not talking back to him. He is a devout Christian, but he became so enraged that he even began cursing the Lord in his anger, going as far as to say "f*** God in his F***ing a**". He became so angry at me for not talking to him that he began to hit me in the head, that I got him to stop the car and got out as fast as I could and ran to the first house I could find to call my mother to come and get me.
As I got away from him, he accused me of being possessed and even at one point continued screaming "I hate you" as loud as he could before he finally drove off.
He is not an aggressive person, he is one of the most gentle people I have ever known. He was always there to help me seek God, and come to Him. But now hes being tormented by the enemy, and allowed himself to fall so far away that his mind is being filled with evil thoughts. Please pray that God help him come back to Him, that he would forgive my friend for all he did last night, and to please help him before he hurts himself or others.
