I found out an old and dear friend of mine suffered a stroke today. Fortunately she was at work so one of her co-workers noticed the symptoms right away. So far the prognosis is good, but it is extremely unusual for a 39 year old to have a stroke.

Just an update, she'll be in the hospital far at least a few more days since they're still running boat loads of tests trying to figure out what caused the stroke. She has paralysis on most of her right side.

I should have updated this a long time ago since she was out of the hospital right after Thanksgiving. She has physically been recovering well although she does continue to have considerable weakness down the right side.
After a long list of tests to try to determine the cause of the stroke they have determined that she has Chronic Meningitis (google it) and are concerned that the meningitis may be due to cancer. Apparently she has a raised white cell count and abnormal counts of some proteins in her blood. Soooooo, now they are going down that trail to determine if there is cancer, and if so where.
Please pray for her healing and comfort. Likewise for myself, the past couple of months have been trying on me.
