If there is no "gift of prophecy" in effect today, then there is no "test for prophets,"
Correct?

If anyone contradicts Scripture, then failure would be the "grade for their doctrine
(teaching/writings)," Especially:

1Ti_1:7 "Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding
neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm."
Best to "stay where God Placed us, Under His Grace!" with the
"now abiding gifts of faith, hope, and LOVE."
Amen?

Precious friend(s):

Grace, Peace, And JOY In Christ, And In His Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided
(+ I and II)!

Here's a very well done 5 parts mini-series exposing SDA's prophet Ellen G White.
Since when did the word "prophetess" go out of style? She was definitely a false teacher and a false prophetess. The problem is that no one from her camp wants to admit it.

I understand that the gifts of the Spirit are still in operation, but certainly can be abused.
I don't believe God speaks through Prophets and prophetess as He did in the Old covenant.

Hebrews 1:1
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.

He speaks to all his followers and we have the word of God and the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.

1 John 2:27
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

That doesn't mean I understand all mysteries, but I press on to Know what God is saying" Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of my faith"

There sure is a lot about gifts in the completed Bible. I doubt gifts sometimes but then I'm reminded the Bible completed presents them as currently active. Sometimes I think people go too far in their feelings. But when you're used in a gift you'll get confirmation. Every good and perfect gift comes from God. A gift must edify the church. Positive, not strange, is a perfect gift.

Prior to making a decision whether to take up the Seventh Day Adventist
religion, new Christians really should thoroughly research not only Ellen G.
White, but also a crucial SDA doctrine called "Investigative Judgment" which
has quite a few Adventists crossing their fingers and hoping for the best
while in the back of their mind dreading the worst.

In a nutshell: only SDA sins that have been confessed receive forgiveness.
All sins that an Adventist neglects to confess and/or forgets to confess, will
be held against them when their files are opened and examined; resulting in
a very high potential for disaster. (Rev 20:11-15)

Plagiarism is a lot more common than people might think. It doesn't surprise me at all that White plagiarized. It's usually engage in by people with low IQs, who are lazy and simply aren't very creative; but who who have big egos and love recognition.

Thanks for posting; interesting series.

If we do not see how the Old Testament (named by man book) contains Jesus and His gospel we are yet blinded by the veil of Moses while reading.

The law and the prophets point to Jesus. Also, as is declared in Revelation, all who testify to Jesus as Lord and Savior have the spirit of prophecy. Pehaps some here ae stuck believing that prophesy is limited to foretelling future events, it is not.

For the first few centuries, believers and disciples used the Old Testament to teach of Jesus...................

Anyone know if this guy is still an Adventist? He says "my church" and "our church" like he's still in it.

Are SDAs prevalent around you guys? There are very few in my neck of the woods. In my rather large circle of acquaintances I know of no one who is an SDA.

I noticed that too. I've heard from some that it took them years to finally leave. From his videos, Looks like he's going undercover. "Secret Agent Christian". I'm sure it would be hard if all your family and friends were Adventist, trying to leave. Maybe he's trying to make a difference by sharing and possibly waiting for them to throw him out.

I think you're right. He never did show his identity so he's probably still in SDA and doesn't want anyone to know who he is.

I've knew a few where I used to live. They make it their goal to indoctrinate you.
For the most part most SDA follow Ellen White teaching. She's considered the "lesser light". Someone once said about that "why do you need a flashlight, when you have the Sun shining".
