Crocs? Jellyfish? Termites? Dingos?

Oh what about the rabbits and prickly pears and cane toads?

I'm just about to read a book about Lindy Chamberlain. Where you around at the time when baby Azariah went missing? Did you believe Lindy or was everyone like 'she killed her daughter' ?
I don't know if I responded to this. Lindy Chamberlain was stitched up. Yes, I was living here. People took a dislike to her and that was the end of her hope of a fair trial. Even some Christians I knew (women, of course) judged her without facts and before the trial was over. The retrial showed a travesty of justice and she was acquitted.

Why did they dislike her?

What about her husband? I haven't started reading the book yet but a recent magazine article came out about her, she was originally from New Zealand so I don't know if that might have been a part of it. She wants to reform the justice system in Australia. I don't think NZ has a great track record of justice either...not enough police actually doing their jobs and sloppy case management.

David Bain was our notorious sending an innocent person to jail case.

'Chieftess of Smashingness' ?

or

[the real] spider-woman ?

:D

(or, maybe - both?)

I'd kinda like to be that big spider on Krull...

But, seriously speaking, while I am the Chieftess of Smashingness, one thing is for certain...there will be no smashing of spiders in my presence!
Or the perp will be thrown into the Krull spider web lol😌🕷️

I recall there was a huge spider in the Hobbit or was it Lord of the Rings. Maybe it was both. Name was Shelob

He lawyer gave her some bad advice. It was something to the effect of do not show emotion in case it looked insincere. She looked a bit dowdy, not glamorous. The police case was based on appalling forensic analysis of a stain in the boot of the Chamberlain's car. It was claimed to be dried blood. It was not.

Rumours abounded. They were SDA. One absurd rumour was that SDA secretly promoted child sacrifice. Since people were desperate to believe the worst, that did not help one bit.

Michael Chamberlain was convicted of being an accessory. The judge was sympathetic and his sentence was suspended. Of course, he was cleared when Lindy was acquitted on retrial.

Huh
Sounds even worse than the debacle that was Madeleine McCann case. But to this day nobody knows what happened, least of all the parents just a lot of theories, and she's never been found or her body.

Well I guess I will just have to read the book to find out more, bar talking to Lindy herself.
SDA do a lot of strange things/have weird beliefs, but AFAIK child sacrifice is not one of them.

What are people hating on a woman who's not glamorous?!

Most mothers are NOT glamorous especially having to look after babies/young children cleaning up poos and vomit all the time. smh

I remember the David Bain case, and people were ragging on him just because he wore patterned knitted jumpers. Well ITS COLD in Dunedin!

Australia put people into Covid internment camps and hunted down citizens to forcefully "immunize" them. I don't really have a desire to even visit such a country.

Covid is over now whatever they did, they not doing it anymore, plus change of leadership. I think they are democracy but then it's a huge country so it's probably divided into federal states and each city accountable for its own citizens.

Anyway, if you don't want to visit, nobody is forcing you to go there lol. There are plenty of other countries you could visit that don't have any healthcare at all.

Lindy Chamberlain has now dyed her hair paua colour, so I don't think she looks 'dowdy' whatever that is. She just looks like someone who dyed her hair paua colour.

There are worse crimes against humanity than being 'dowdy'

I found out a little more since my last comment. The case against Lindy was blown open when the child's matinee jacket was discovered near a Dingo den. Shows you how much I know. I did not know that Dingoes had dens. So the best explanation is also the one that Lindy presented initially.

It's all in the knitting...

I didn't realise how expensive these were

Maybe the dingo thought little Azaria was a lamb with her woolly jacket/jumper, esp if it was white.

$560-$804 for a zip hoody from Coogi

Also...UGG boot shops are EVERY where in Sydney...every third shop seemed to be one.

Dingos= Australian wolves?

Tasmanian Devils = ?

Wombats = Kiwis (nocturnal and live in burrows/cavities)

Kangaroos = giant rabbits?

Quokkas = ???

Echidnas = hedgehogs?

Koalas = cuddly pandas

Funny, I've lived here since 1966. I was not forcefully immunised. Australia is huge, with both federal and state governments. Most people live in coastal areas. There is everything from desert to rainforest. I'll tell you what we don't have. We don't need to teach our children how to hide from gunmen. Our schools are mostly safe, much safer than America. Gun ownership is well regulated.

I've been to hospital four times since 2016. Cost to me: nothing. Hospital care is the leading cause of bankruptcy in America. I've been immunised three times. I had a heart condition years before Covid. According to the tinfoil hat brigade, I should be dead. Sorry to disappoint Y'all. I'll tell you who is dead. Marcus Lamb, founder of Daystar and an ardent anti vaxxer. He changed his tune when he contracted Covid, but it was too late.

I've been to America twice. I enjoyed both times, but there was a great difference in 2016, my last visit. People were more worried, more insecure and less friendly than in 1994.
