I read a few months back that a father and teenage daughter wanted to get married. Their lawyer's defense was, "homosexuality is becoming legal, so why not?"
The lawyer was right. Because, once society has lost the normal/natural landmark of love, marriage and family, what could stand against such blasphemous union?

I'm encouraged to see a country that doesn't allow homosexuals to indoctrinate their children with the idea that engaging in sexually immoral homosexual acts is the same as not engaging in them. I'm encouraged to see a country where homosexual activists aren't given free reign to persecute heterosexuals who disagree with homosexual immorality through the use of fines, prison, etc... forcing the choices of the immoral over the rights of the moral as is occurring in the U.S. in such cases as the baker who refused to bake a single cake for lesbians because of their moral and religious convictions.
They've been hit with hundreds of thousands of fines, are facing prison time, and have been bullied and harassed greatly with death threats issued to their children by homosexual activists. This is uncalled for in a free market where people can simply find another baker who shares their values on sexual immorality or bake the cake themselves. Moral people don't want to directly or indirectly support the immoral behavior of immoral people. This has zero to do with race and gender and everything to do about one's right to live out their moral and religious convictions.
The latest Gallup polls show that the entire LGBT "community" represents only 3.5% of the population in America (less in Russia) yet they are now persecuting anyone in the other 96.5% that won't directly or indirectly support their immoral sexual choices.
Russia has transformed from a nation captivated by immorality, state atheism, and communism to a successful free market republic and they don't want to go back. I salute them for that.
Myself, I love my country and my country needs people like me more than ever before now. We are facing rapid decline across the board and the way forward is reform. This rush to create the most immoral lost society on the face of the earth where moral people are persecuted for disapproving of morality and living out their moral and religious convictions is insane. It doesn't go anywhere good. Russia found that out the hard way and they aren't going back.

russia has barely 'transformed' at all...today russia is a nation captivated by immorality and authoritarianism and implicit worship of the state itself...and calling russia a 'free market republic' is a -very- loose usage of both 'free market' and 'republic'
there has been practically zero improvement in twenty years...and no prospect for any in the next twenty years either...

There is no way the baker should have lost that case. A business is allowed to not sell to anyone they choose not to sell to. It is basic contract law. The baker never agreed to bake them a cake, and thus there was no contract that was broken.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this issue Rachel. I have the data here plus experience dating back to the Cold War and family members that have married native Russians and still ferry back and forth between the two countries. I'm in the loop.
For example, just a few decades ago state atheism was the official metaphysical worldview in communist Russia and not aligning with that view of the world could easily end with a tenner in a gulag with your children relocated into an orphanage and your property seized by the state. Today only 13% of Russians are atheist and non-religious and almost none are communists. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF/KPRF), the immediate successor of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, has less than 157,000 members out of a 2013 Russian population of 143,600,000. The collapse of the Marxist USSR left Russians destitute and unemployed but today they have low unemployment at 5.4%.
We can argue degrees and comparisons, of course, but the fact that Russia has transitioned from one model to another is indisputable.

David, calm down. We LOVE our countries, we are not authoritarian fascists, and we don't want big brother persecuting us for living out our moral and religious convictions as is occurring increasingly today in Western Civilization with the rise of homosexual authoritarian elitism.
Nobody's making up any stories about anything and many of us voted independent neither for Obama or Romney. You're making a lot false assertions.
You should be asking questions since you're coming up with the wrong answers. Nobody here supports violence against people who choose to engage in the sexual immorality of homosexuality and we strongly oppose that in Russia via our support through Christian human rights organizations. Somehow you've gotten it twisted in your head. We love the sinner but hate the sin understanding none are perfect including us.
What we do believe is that homosexuals should not be able to indoctrinate children with the sexually immorality they choose to engage in. Ironically, the very people that want to push their immoral values on children in public schools have made it illegal for us to share moral values with children in the public schools. You want to talk about authoritarianism. There's an example of it plus hypocrisy.
We also see case after case in the news of our governments going too far in persecuting us for disapproving of sexual immorality and refusing to enable homosexuality directly and indirectly. The case of the baker I gave is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
And yes we argue that marriage should be between a man and a woman as is our right to do so in the free marketplace of ideas and opinions. Homosexuals have the right to argue for their position in that same marketplace. We aren't trying to stop them from sharing their opinion but just the opposite: they are trying to stop us from sharing ours through pushing for draconian anti-free speech offensive laws that violate our human rights.
But we're not going to stop being honest about our views publicly no matter the cost and there just isn't enough space in prison or money in the budget to deny us our freedom and incarcerate us for sharing our moral views publicly.

Homosexuality cannot be put in the same box as paedophiles. Simply because homosexuals are two consenting adults where as paedophilia is ABUSE. To insinuate the two are linked is absurd.

I didn`t chose to be heterosexual. Is in me and in you, in our reproduction instinct. The sexual desire has a purpose that goes beyond its simple satisfaction. So, if someone choses to satisfy his libido by any mean, that person no longer respects his body.
It has been well documented that many homosexuals were sexually abused as children. This doesn't mean that a homosexual will moleste children but yes, there is a link.
Choosing to be heterosexual is as much of a choice as being homosexual. We are all born with a sinful nature, and it's up to us to determine how we act. Also, just because someone is heterosexual doesn't mean they're free from sexual sin. So centering in on gays and how "terrible" they are is hypocritical if someone is living in fornication, adultery, ect. As a matter of fact I'm guessing there's more heterosexual out there living in sin than there are homosexuals on the planet.
Why did you put the word abuse in quotations? That's exactly what it is. There's no mutual consent, it's one man forcing himself on a child.
And no, it would not be normal to want sex with a child.
I don't think it's normal to want to have sex with another man either but it doesn't really concern me because both parties are consenting with full knowledge of their actions.
