While that is true, the concepts of right and wrong were there. Even from the garden Adam and Eve were taught right from wrong; good from evil. Those are the two choices. Anyone choosing the good from childhood follows the spirit of Christ. And anyone choosing evil from childhood follows the spirit of Lucifer. We see these things where beautiful children murder others. Clearly they followed the spirit of Lucifer. But they knew it was wrong. And they made their choice as to what spirit to follow.
The light of Christ is the spirit of Christ. We all are given the light of Christ to follow. But the evil one tempts mankind to follow the ways of the wicked. It follows therefore that when we follow Christ, even though we may not have learned of him, then we have salvation in Christ.
Because, we make choices that had we heard of him we would have naturally followed him. The reason this is important is that millions upon millions have lived and died who have never been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. So how are they saved? It is that they followed the light of Christ. That at the time they are judged they have salvation because they followed Christ.
As you know, believers are not judged but have salvation from sin. But of those who are judged some also have salvation from sin. And how do these judged have salvation from sin? Because they lived by the spirit of Jesus Christ. Not hearing the gospel message, but living accordingly. Here is Rev. 20:11-15 showing some listed in the book of life are judged.
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is
the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
How did some of the spiritually dead end up in the book of life? The answer is that they had salvation by following Christ by the light of Christ. That even though they had not heard of Jesus Christ during their lifetime, and they were sinners, nevertheless they were found in the book of life. Again, those who have salvation in Christ are not judged. So how did these who are judged end up in the book of life? It is because they lived by the light of Christ. That had they an opportunity go hear the gospel message they would have accepted salvation. And God knows that. So, when they are judged they are found in the book of life having eternal salvation.
As you can see, they do not come forth in the first resurrection but the second. The resurrection of those who are judged. And why are they judged? Because they did not have salvation from sin. Nevertheless, they are found in the book of Life having eternal salvation in Christ. And how is this done? By the light of Christ. That had they had an opportunity to repent for the salvation from sin, they would have. And they are judged to receive eternal life in Christ.
All others, those who are rejected, have eternal death in the kingdom of the eternally dead. Whereas eternal life is to be with Christ forever, eternal death is to not be with Christ forever. It is the kingdom of the dead to live in their sin forever. Of which by the way, many are saved by living the light of Christ and being judged accordingly.
But for those who hear the gospel message such accommodations are not available. For if the sinner rejects the message of salvation then they are accountable to that choice and are spiritually dead forever. But again, those who do not hear the gospel message, they are subject to judgment and if found in the book of life have salvation in Christ.
And how did they gain salvation but by living according to the light of Christ that is the spirit of Christ.
