"My pastor said the vast majority of Gods people have never even read the bible."I'm not a theologian, nor am I a Bible Scholar, but I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and sufficient Word of God, serving as the only ultimate rule for faith and practice.
I believe salvation is entirely due to God's sovereign grace, not human merit or effort. I believe justification (being declared righteous) is received by faith alone in Christ, not by works.
I believe Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. I believe the primary purpose of life is to glorify God.
I'm sure you would agree that God won't judge anyone, based on their ability to interpret the bible. But He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
From my understanding, there is only one condition we must meet in order to be saved, and that is we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
My pastor said the vast majority of Gods people have never even read the bible.
Maybe because it is the pastor himself that is willfully implicated in a conspiracy of silence, denial, distortion or outright fraud. Hey.....the religious dear leader frauds of Jesus time were masters of this fake religion/extortion/exploitation trade. And they were EVERYWHERE with extremely rare exceptions.
Frankly, I see it happening all the time on this board day in and day out. And NO, it is not merely an honest difference of opinion or interpretation. It's far more sinister than that. Its more like people "loving the lie".
Yes there is room for debate on relatively trivial matters. But when anybody outright dismisses 1/3 of the Bible to suit their fancy.....Katy bar the door!
Oh and BTW.....the "my pastor said" learning protocol is a real problem nowadays. Yes Paul's word you could stake your life on. But we don't have any spare Paul's around my neck of the woods. Mostly frauds and clueless religious hacks around here.
