lol..

Well John said I can know I have eternal life.

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
1 John 2:25
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

1 John 5:11
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
1 John 5:13
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

If you do not know this fact.. then I would say you are either in ignorance. or you are in outright rejection
Self qualifying yourself into a pronoun is truly ignorant.

And this is exactly what you are doing.

At least try to be humble.

I am not under law I am under grace.

I can be as good as I possibly can. I will still fall short.

why do you lower the requiments of the law to make it appear you have made it?
more

depart from iniquity or depart from Jesus Christ!

sin causes the loss of grace and union with God!

the workers of iniquity are not permitted in the presence of Jesus Christ!

how much less have union in Christ?

Matthew 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.

2 tim 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ DEPART FROM
INIQUITY.

Matthew 13:41
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do INIQUITY.

Romans 6:19
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Hebrews 1:9
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

where does it say of works?

Grace literally means gods facor. or his mercy..

You can not earn salvation.

all those passages do nto say what you think, the bible can not contradict itself

If God says I have been saved by grace period. not of works.. then he can not later come and say I have to do works

God is not the author of confusion
please explain

heb 11:6
...he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Saved by God alone via faith in GRFS as revealed.

Saved by God alone via faith in GRFS as revealed.
The content of saving faith per GW should be something along the following lines/points:
1. There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (Deut. 6:4, John 3:16, 2Thes. 1:6), who is both able (2Tim. 1:12) and willing (1Tim. 2:3-4, Ezek. 33:11) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever.

2. Human beings are selfish or sinful (Rom. 3:23, 2Tim. 3:2-4, Col. 3:5), miserable (Gal. 5:19-21), and hopeless (Eph. 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (Matt. 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (John 3:18, Rom. 2:5-11).

3. Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, Phil. 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (Rom. 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1Cor. 15:14-28).

4. Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), which means trying to obey (Phil. 3:12, 1John 1:8) His commandment to love one another (Matt. 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2).

5. Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept Him (Rev. 3:20) that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (John 14:6, 17&26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).

6. This creed summarizes revelation of the NT Gospel/Truth (Matt. 26:13, John 14:6), which fulfilled the OT revelation (Matt. 5:17, John 19:30, Heb. 7:11-10:10) and culminates the search for salvation by souls who know only general revelation (Rom. 1:20, 2:14-16, Matt. 7:12). Seeking begins when souls love truth/repent of false beliefs (2Thes. 2:10&13, Matt. 4:17, 7:7), which is the Way to eternal life God wills, who is the Lord Jesus (Matt. 7:14, John 1:14, 4:24, 14:6). Lacking this love leads to believing lies and debauchery (Matt. 7:6, Rom. 1:18&25-26, 2Thes. 2:11-12).

Amazingrace, kudos on your attempt to reason with the "chosen".

Your efforts are not in vain.

There are many others that need to hear this reasoning.

They most certainly will not get it from the "chosen".

what is eternal life?

Eternal Life is God engulfing us into living His life with Him.
We become experientially baptized into God's life.
We must have our glorified bodies before it is to take place officially.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;
neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up
in victory.

its no different than the false teachers really. The pharisees pumping their chest. attacking the sinners that Jesus saved.
I think it is vastly different. The Pharisees, which cannot be equated with Christians today, believed in God and his words.

Atheists do not. Here is how you know this.
If someone says they don't believe God inspired the words appearing in scripture, they cannot discuss the Bible.
When they do so anyway, and their argument is contrary ,opposed, to scripture , they're Trolling.

Which they tell you first when they say they don't respect what's written in the Bible is of God.

The disciples actions reveal and confirm over and over whose name Jesus was referring to in Matthew 28:19. (Acts 2:38, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 22:16)

There is not one instance in the Word of God where anyone administered water baptism using the phrase I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Why? Because Father is a title, not a name; Son is a title, not a name; and Holy Ghost is a title, not a name.

Scripture reveals Jesus is the name above every name whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) It was Jesus who was crucified to save the souls of men. (1 Cor. 13:1) And in Jesus dwells all the fulness of the Godhead. (Col. 2:9-12)

The Apostle Paul knew whose name was to be used in administering water baptism: "Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" Have you ever asked yourself whose name was Paul referring to in connection with baptism?
Faith is something i feel is misunderstood. It really a verb in bible most often and in english its a noun.
Point is correct if you don't have faith to go get baptized by Jesus in His name that about only saving Faith, i know. I notice people interpret scripture in many different ways .
what i see is they are Not Baptized in the Only name given to men.mush false fruits its like buying a lottery ticket and there's no chance of even winning

To reject Luke's Gospel as uninspired or unreliable, is not merely questioning one isolated book. You are calling into question a Gospel account that runs parallel to the other three Gospels, especially Matthew and Mark. Together they are called the Synoptic Gospels because they recount many of the same events in Jesus' life, often in a similar sequence and sometimes with nearly identical wording.
I never said I reject the gospel of Luke, on the contrary, it is my favorite gospel.

I never said it was not inspired I actually said that Luke does not state it was inspired as Paul and John do.

I reject 2 John and 3 John and I have no idea how they were included in the canon.

They are synoptic gospels because they copied a common source.

New Testament scholars widely agree that the authors of Matthew and Luke relied heavily on Mark's earlier gospel,
alongside other materials like the hypothetical Q Source (a lost collection of Jesus's sayings). Copying written sources
was an accepted scholarly practice in antiquity, and comparing these texts allows you to trace how each author
adapted the traditions to suit their specific audiences and theological goals
.

In places the synoptic gospels are word for word. Luke told you that he examined the available evidence (Mark).

We are missing two letters to the Corinthians a letter to the Ephesians and a letter Paul wrote to the Laodiceans.

Yet, some how we got 2 John and 3 John instead?

Apparently Peter either did not remember or did not obey, but I have a bigger "problem" for you:
Mark and Luke were the assistants of Paul, who was inspired to reveal the fifth Gospel (Rom. 16:25-26, Eph. 3:2-11).
Thus, your implied task is to harmonize Paul's writings with the other four gospels.
Paul's letters were directly inspired.

Mark and Luke were assistants of Paul and Barnabas.

Does that then imply that Mark and Luke wrote church doctrine?

what is eternal life?

thks
what do you think it is

Jesus said in John 3. Whoever believes (trusts) in him will NEVER PERSIH and has ETERNAL LIFE

1. Never perish. - it means you will never perish , you have been born again, and once this happens, you will never die again, meaning you will never need born again
2. Eternal Life - Eternal, forever, everlasting, without end, Life. Again you are born again (the context of the passage) or made alive. and the length of this life is forever.

Again, I have it. why do you not?

we are under law, the law of the Spirit in grace which has requirements

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

1 cor 6:15-20

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

*****

1 tim 6:11-15

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

No sir

there are two ways to God

the law. and all its rules and regulations and animal sacrifices. of which we must be perfect

Grace, Through Jesus christ the one and only redeemer.

If you want to get through God by following rules and regulations and trying to make it appear you are doing ok (like the pharisees) feel free.

Just know. It will not work.

Self qualifying yourself into a pronoun is truly ignorant.
Calling an apostle a liar is truly.. well this is a christian chat room. I think you get th epicture
And this is exactly what you are doing.

I am humble. I placed my faith in God and him alone. I am nothing

you are like many others and does not understand Gods standard.

James said if we just stumble and break one command by accident (or unknowingly) we are cursed by the whole law

In lev. we see that God said if I commit a sin on accident, By not knowing, I must offer a sin offering to the lord one of my preciou slambs without spot.

I would become like the tax collecxtor. and stop trying to be a pharisee.

Again, The word says if I know to do right and do not do it. to me it is sin. That makes me just as guilty as the murderer, the adulterer, the thief, The tax collector

Apart from Grace, I would be toast.

What amazes me, is he chose the name "amazinggrace" but you can tell by his words. he does not even understand what grace is. let alone think it is amazing.

what is so amazing about earning ones way to heaven? Because Grace is not enough?

I think it is vastly different. The Pharisees, which cannot be equated with Christians today, believed in God and his words.

I will use the words of Jesus

Luke 16: 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”
Amazing that this came true. Jesus rose lazarus from the dead. did they listen to moses and the prophets? No. Instead of praising Christ. they sought on how to kill him, they had to get rid of him..

Again, Jesus speaking to the pharisees

John 5:45-47
45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

what about the many verses that do say faith plus???
Do those many verses really say "faith plus" results in salvation or are you confusing 'descriptive' passages of scripture with 'prescriptive' passages of scripture?
thks

examples

1 cor 13;2
1 cor 13:13
In regard to 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul uses hyperbole about understanding ALL mysteries and ALL knowledge and having faith that can move mountains yet having NO love to express the importance of love. Faith works through love (Galatians 5:6), but we are saved through faith, not faith "plus love/acts of charity."

Love is the greatest quality between faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13) because God is love and it outlasts faith and hope. Long after the "evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1) are now seen and we are no longer looking for the "blessed hope" - (expectation of what is sure) and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13) because we are now in His presence, love will still be the principle that governs all that God and his saints are and do throughout eternity in the new heaven and new earth.

Paul is not teaching that even if our faith is genuine that our faith cannot save us without producing "enough" love/acts of charity which culminates in salvation by works. Paul is stressing the importance of love, not teaching that faith in Christ is insufficient to save us without the merits of our best efforts to love.

All who are truly born again have love. Why? Because we (believers) have received the love of God in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5) when we believed the gospel (Ephesians 1:13). We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). 1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

The narrow road is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Either we are trusting 100% in Jesus Christ for salvation or else we are 100% lost. It does not get any narrower than that. It's still faith alone.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

What happened to faith at all here? Jesus doesn't know them which means they are not saved. It's the same in Matthew 7:23.

We know that we have (past tense) passed from death unto life, (demonstrative evidence) because we love the brethren. We love the brethren is 'descriptive' of those who have already been saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone and have passed from death unto life. It's still faith alone.
