So, I'm going to let Paul's words echo here on where I have found myself pondering this epistle
"Romans 3:4" ,(Of course not!) "Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the scriptures say about him, "you will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court"".
And yet he also says that all people are touched with the means by which to commit sin, especially where it is made apparent with bald lies.
Paul is not saying Jesus was tempted, and he specifically shows that the commandments are an invitation not to sin.
But we who do go to court often and need to know what the law says to have a fighting chance. Lawyers box like pugilists, the Court is run by blood money -- nothing at all will end in the demure act of surrender. Or at least we hope it will. Jesus gives us hope when He had said "millstone". Like a bank overdraft fee, the gates of hell chain shut around the mouths of people who know temptation and let it proliferate.
