sex before marriage?

sex b4 marriage

Although I am quite young I do believe sex before marriaghe is wrong, but I do not judge those who have sex before marriage because not everyone has strong feelings about their religion..
I think that if you feel it is wrong then you shouldn't do it.

Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?"

So with that in mind we can't go make decisions off of what we feel. We are to make decisions off of God's law.

1 Corinthians 6:9 "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,"

That verse clearly tells us that fornication is wrong. Therefor we should not be apart of it.

I think that as Christians we need to be reminded of the fact that condoning something and saying it is fine is just as bad as doing it yourself.

Romans 1:32 says "who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them."

Right from that verse we see that simply approving of it makes you just as guilty. All in all, the bible is quite clear on this subject. Do not have anything to do with it! It is very straight forward.
 
Approving and not condemning are two very different things. Jesus did not approve of fornication, yet He said, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone".

Do not be so quick to throw judgment around, Cako. Particularly against those who do not share in your salvation.

Did you even read the verse that I put up? It states that they were condemed to hell for not only commiting in these acts of sin, BUT also approving of them. I honestly have no idea where your quote fits in in this situation...

And, it was not judgment. There is a difference between judgment and warning. We are told to warn our Brothers and Sisters of where they are going wrong. God Bless.

Cako... please don't use the line, "Did you even read the verse/post/question/whatever that I put up?" when in a discussion. At best it's condescending, at worst it means you actually didn't understand the person and want to either overpower them or put them down.

You do not know who will be in the Kingdom of Heaven. "By your fruits you shall know them" is meant to establish pure fellowship, but you do not know men's hearts or where they will reside in eternity. You do not know what good work God may be doing through Jesus Christ. You do not know what is going on between any man and God. You do not know whom the Lord is working out salvation in.

You quoted three verses without the context of the chapter to prove your point. Don't jump around because a verse seems to hit your topic. A chapter of the Bible can offer a year's worth of study and sermons. So yes, I read your verses, but I challenge that you understand the full context of what you cited in Romans. Those that give approval would be among the same reprobate mind who practice them! If a Christian was worthy of death for encouraging sin, then God would smite half the Christian population (or more) for every single human, sinful error that caused someome to stumble. Focus on WHO the chapter is speaking of... again, it is those who are given over to the reprobate mind.

This mind... is also not for you to know. You may assume, you may judge falsely, but again... only the Lord knows a man's mind. You cannot discern what the Holy Spirit is doing in a man's heart or what measures or places or depths they may be taken to in the process of that work.

That is why you are not to condemn or judge, for you bring condemnation of the same unto yourself. A warning that someone will go to hell in their sin without Christ is one thing, but warning that they will go to Hell for their sin... makes you out to be God, for you do not know the mind of God, which you would need to know if you say you know a man's mind.

No, it means exactly what it looks like.

I don't need to know people's hearts. I know the word of God. The word of God says in Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" I do not know who the Lord is working salvation in, that's correct. But that ties in no where here.

That's exactly the point though! How do you not know if half the "Christian" population is going to hell. Have you seen how much we have twisted and distorted what Christianity really means?! Do you know how many people "proclaim" to be saved? Claiming being saved doesn't get you into heaven. Remember in Matthew, Jesus told a few different stories about people who would not be entering into Heaven. One being in Matthew 7, I believe, the other Matthew in Matthew 25.

I also never claimed to know the mind. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions in your post.

I also never condemned or judged, I would really appreciate it if you did not start to stretch what I say. Atleast get clarification on what I have said, because I deffinatly was not judging or condemning. Simply warning.
 
I am not the one stretching, Cako. I was speaking of Christians, not "Christians". I'd continue, but you keep saying I don't understand you, while assuming you understand me. This is going nowhere fast.
 
I think sex should be saved until marriage, I see it as a sign of commitment, and it to me shows that the male is not after the sex, but after the soul of the girl. My thoughts, heavily influenced by a conservative household.

Goes both ways. Shouldn't just be one or the other.


EDIT: My opinion on this is largely influenced on my having been raised in a conservative household in the midwest, I am not too concerned with the idea at the time, as I am only 17; however, when I get to that point in my life, where I will be looking for a spouse, I would prefer it to be one much like what my family has experienced, most of my older relatives have never divorced, that is what I look for, is a lasting relationship, but not one that is oppressing either. I also see it as a healthy choice(to avoid spread of disease) as well as a decision of maturity.

I'm really curious about what you mean when you say we've twisted and distorted what christianity really means.. I'm thinking christianity is going the right way, compared to what it was like a few hundred years back. please give some examples.

and that last part.. what is that good for? so you can't be convinced that you're saved now? it's a matter between each person and god. maybe you don't "proclaim" to be saved, but with the way you express yourself it's pretty much the same thing. just take it easy..

I'd like to apologize, I meant Western Christianity. I will still go ahead and explain what I mean though. Gay marriage in the church now. Following human laws instead of Gods, many people are preaching off of their own principles instead of biblical ones now. Etc... People do all this then proclaim to be Christians. That is what Western Christianity is turning to. Not bothering to show people where they are going wrong because it "might offend them". It shows a heck of a lot more love to tell someone where their faults are then to just encourage them to keep doing exactly what they are doing because they are doing fine, when in reality they are not. Christianity is about following in Christ's footsteps. Remember the early church? They were called Christians because they followed Christ, they didn't call themselves Christians. You can't look at Western Christianity and honestly say that we are doing what God has asked us to do. I would also like to say that I am not talking about every single person, I am simply talking about the majority. What the public sees Western Christians as now a days. There are still many great Christians over here, sad to say that the others out weigh the true followers of God.

i don't think looking to the bible for modern scenarios is anything other than insanity. men wrote the bible, the catholic church have proven that most of the bible is translate wrongly and massive pieces are missing. of course you can have sex before marriage? why you ask? because anything done out of love can never be wrong, and if it is then i don't want to be part of that system.

yes seriously, there are too many inconsistencies in todays version of the bible that it reflects more of ideas than anything literally... this is especially true when you study other religions, like i have, and find that large portions of the bible are nearly word for word taken from other religions that existed 1000's of years before it. so i wouldn't take anything too literally. and if you love someone, it's ok to have sex with them, period. if you go to hell for loving someone then send me to hell now please.
