Psalms 23: 4
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Then:
Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Psalm 36:7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Psalm 63:7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Psalm 57:1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. (I really like this last part, UNTIL …..)
So I was wondering what it means by valley of shadow of death, and what the shadow of thy wings looks like? Also, how does thy rod and thy staff comfort oneself?
