Should drug addiction be non negotiable qualification in finding a husband?

Should drug addiction be a non negotiable qualification in finding a husband? Why?

If somebody is trying to change, and you are thinking you might one day marry this person, they need to have a long period of time where you see that the change is real. I would personally fast and pray about whether to marry the person even after that.

I would suggest that he be at least one year removed from the last instance that he did drugs at the absolute minimum, but 18-24 months would be even more safe. You should realize, though, that it can take 3-5 years for someone to really shake an addiction. It's just one of those things that takes time. It doesn't happen overnight.

Seriously now:

Behind such porn-addition, which is widespread online and at street-seeing, there´s the potential thread of cheating on and why do a person does it? If he/she lacking anything not yet served at the dinner table?

We (me) can boast or brag about many things but, similarly to a bullet´s telemetry in life, several battle fields, our shots will not have the same precison and range all our years (we get old, sick or ugly) and, it sex if the only drive sought, years (months) will show our drifting away so, if a person loves his/her heart, it´d be good to know those areas involved in living together because, at the end of the day, anything would happen and there´s not bullet-proof jacket to deter a dart aimed to the feeelings, but children budgets are the most affected in those splitting, particularly ladies.

My wife's half brothers are also on drugs and they struggle to get clean. It is so sad to see them spiralling out of control. We have helped them financially and with cell phones, only to find out that they used it all to buy drugs...

Hello there!

Don´t think it hopeless, because it is not.

When I was young one of my family member was on them... We tried to help and we lost material things, things that you can buy or get any other day, except the person involved in more problems.

We cast him out (somewhat a mistake). He sleept on the streets and was seen doing so, breaking my mother´s heart (the one who really helped him after our banning: my dad and me).

Today, because GOD IS GREAT and ALIVE, he is an inspiring example in my life.
 
Recently, on a profile somewhere else, I read:

"I don´t like smoking, but I´ve tried pot..."

That´s a public profile and those who will be drawn are "probably" those who made their choices and that made me think on several things:

How honest I am?

I could be lying in anything, just to get the attention and, after walking the sidewalk of any relationship, I could end up as a liar: Many persons realized, too late, their spouses´ crushes.

Here, again, the Lord´s words are coronary:

"By their fruits they will known"

How about this question... why did you resurface a 3 year dead thread to criticize it's topic?
Another question. Does something have to make sense to you to be valid?
