I am posting this as something for others to study and to consider. The reason is, that as I have read throughout the forums, it has come to my attention that many people are defining words differently. Most of the time, the result is a form of debate that arises as if the people are speaking different languages; not able to understand one another.

I understand that there will be many people convinced that they already know what works are and will want to argue their opinion on it. I truly mean no offence, but I am not interested in opinions. What I am interested in is searching the deep things of God and studying the scriptures that we may be like-minded in Christ. I am interested in doing this in the fullness of the love of God which means humbling ourselves first to God but ALSO humbling ourselves to one another.

There are so many interpretations available on things when it comes to our own understanding, the understanding of men as shown in dictionaries and encyclopedias, and many teachings that it is as if most people are looking at the same word but seeing something different. This could be the topic of an entire other thread though so I am not going to say anything more about that except it reminds me of the languages of the people being changed in Babylon.

Jesus used 'plain to see' examples in creation to help to understand the mysteries of Heaven. The scriptures show evidence of this and also give definitions of words as they were meant to be understood. Like the word "faith" which was first used and defined in the scriptures. It was later taken by men and redefined to mean something that was not dependent on the existence of God.

Not many people will say to me, "Show me THAT in the scriptures." The reason is that it is easy enough to see the results. Yet many will say, "Show me that in the scriptures" when they are faced with something that might oppose what they thought they knew or something they do not understand. Yet they make them self a hypocrite by not doing as the scriptures say. "Show me that in scriptures" is NOT an acceptable use of scripture to bring correction in love.

P.S. So that you know that I am not speaking out of offense towards another, I would like to state that no one has done this to me. This message is a result of seeing this done to my brothers and sisters in Christ as a result of lack of a humility and love towards others.

True.. i know for myself the bible says "work out your own salvation with fear" as i do that i may understand the word of God different than others....why?.... cause thats how the lord let me see it an to give ME strength an help to live Godly. But my convictions are mine, an they can be SHARED, not forced, but given to others as and example, and i think i know my own heart an that is what i want to do, live for jesus, do what ask of ME, an let that light SHINE!... :)

This is called (a bible discussion forum) therefore, your discussion should be based on the scriptures. If you want to talk about personal opinions void of the scriptures, you could probably find that topic on other forums.

Though many come up with meanings a mounting to 'what does this mean to me?', yet God, being the ultimate Author, would have His one intended meaning. It would serve us well to seek out God's intentions in His Word.

there's a few good teachers (or used to be), yahweh can direct you to if you keep seeking and trusting only
Him;

this forum is open to the world, and even though it's moderated, you've seen the kind of confusion that results anyway,
as long as heretics, heathens and antichrist wolves are able to post ad lib (when they're not overtly promoting their heresy or idolatry) and not just when they are seeking truth or help.

Thats why Markum1972 has posted this thread as a discussion. So that we can discuss sciptures based on what he is wanting to know. Markum knows this is a bible discussion forum, hence why he posted this thread here in the first place. Hence why he said he wants to search deep in the scriptures so we can be like minded in Christ. The problem with some people on CC, they never read the whole post. so they base there opions and relies and comments of the amount they read. Hence why many arguments and fights, and things taken wrong, and misunderstandings. Though I am not saying you have done before you think I have. Its good to base what you post on threads with biblical scriptures, which many people lack. but its good to see people wanting to have that deep search for scriptures and the true meaning of them, so we all can learn in love.

"He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." (Proverbs 18:13)

Yes we are to search in scriptures to find the truth, and we are to discuss this and our stances with each other in a loving and friendly manner. Not attacking and making false baseless allegations on others, and sticking to those lies by using them and belittling the other person in front of others and to responses to others. Just because a person has a different basis in their understanding by their studies of scripture on how they were lead by the Holy Spirit, does not make them a heretic or false teacher for not seeing it the other persons way. I am one who has been on the receiving end of a couple people, as only three people on here can I never have a friendly debate when they are around. I have asked for apologies from them multiple times to no avail, and one still even tried to reverse the blame back on me for their actions.
All I have ever asked was for friendly debates, but have found myself lately wanting to leave this site and find another because of such degrading of others that takes place. And many others I have talked to before also have left because of this belittling and degrading of others on here.

I personally feel the three biggest words we need as Christians when entering any discussion are; love, respect and humility. These are actually the three rarest qualities we see many times. Also I feel we need to pray before we enter a discussion and actually pray Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."

This is my own opinion on how we should enter into discussion.

But you have to remember that this is CC, and some people on CC lack even a hint of the opinion you just marked out of your own. Sad I know, But Im sure god will deal with them personally.

The Bible states that a true believer will be marked with good works, it is about how to achieve them. Not by power, not by might, but by My Spirit, says the LORD. Jesus has done this on the Cross, imparting His righteousness to us. Matthew 25:33-39 talks about the works of those that entered Heaven so I believe it is a really good reference point to learn what kind of works is pleasing to God.

The believers' works from this passage have not been performed in self-conscienceness. These believers did not even remember nor they were aware what they did. This also rules out doing good to appear good in our own eyes, or in the eyes of other people, or in expectation of some favor or reward. They have done it from the point of being newborn creatures in Christ and the Holy Spirit brought them on - without their own trying. Striving to do good causes us to know and obsess about the record of our good works and this looks like filthy rags to God (Luke 18:11-12, Isa 64:6).

Our work is putting faith in God, this is allowing Him to work, in us. Work is produced by faith (Philippians 1:6, 2 Thessalonians 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 1:3), when we dont try to be strong and work ourselves, but confess our weakness and trust God to save us and complete what He started, then His power becomes stronger in us and we become more able to overcome sin (2 Cor 12:9). It is to believe that we have been made upright in Jesus even if the reality might show us we are still being defeated by sin, we walk by faith and believing in what Jesus has done for us, and not by sight, and God brings about our transformation into His righteousness, Jesus increases because we believe. Works are a fruit of true faith in God that bear witness that the faith is true (James 2:26 - which is often quoted when obedience is discussed, interestingly also hints that works should come from the Spirit and not from us). When we strive to earn approval of God, it shows that we still dont believe we have been made blameless in Jesus and that sin has no more dominion or power over us. So according to how we believed, God will deal with us, and sins will overpower us. We have no power to resist the devil when we do not trust in the finished work on the Cross. Working as in strivings is also in contradiction with the light burden of resting in God, which has been commanded and provided by Jesus.

If the Spirit in you confirms on what you've read, it may interest you to check a 3-post miniseries about this on my blog. It is about works but in more detail and more points covered, ofc with the Scriptures. God Bless!

Yep but also think of this; how did Jesus interact with most people (His reaction at the temple being different)? Love, respect and humility :) Even on the cross "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". So when we react in any other way we should take a long hard look at ourselves (myself included). So in essence is my "opinion" just my "opinion" or a way Jesus would have us respond?

Yep exactly, thats what im saying some people on cc has not even a hint of any of the words you given Love Humility and respect, and some know it and relish in it for fun. To bring down other people.

[h=1]Galatians 5:22-26[/h]22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

...and, of course, the verses which immediately precede these verses are...

Galatians chapter 5

[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

...and calling out people for the same and warning them that they'll not inherit the kingdom of God if they continue in the same is NOT "unloving".

Maybe it will make those who are serious about their faith think, right? For others well....lets pray

And yeah I understand what you are saying :)

While merely my opinion, but wasn't the written spoken word given so that we could verify what is heard of the Spirit is accurate?

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1 John 2:27
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Acts 19:2
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:2

Of course we all have opinions, yet would not the precept of the LORD be unchanging and perpetual.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.Matt 1:20
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:43-44

so all One can offer is their opinion

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Peter 1:20-2:1

simply, to quote the above torah, scripture, then to say that all one can offer is their opinion is quite facetious(if that's the right english word to use.) (i.e. to say that all one can offer is their opinion is quite contrary to scripture)

yahshua and paul said that man's opinion is of no value and not to be trusted until tested... . that all prophecy of scripture is not open to any man's interpretation, but belongs to yahweh.(like as elsewhere the meaning of dreams rests with yahweh, not with man, not even with daniel or joseph - they both testified the answer rests with yahweh).

yahshua said, and apostles repeated, that revelation is needed, and necessary both to know yahweh's will, and to speak what yahweh speaks; and necessary to do what yahweh does. no opinion.

until yahweh reveals what is to be done, ekklesia wait on him to reveal it. simply.

Is that your opinion? or your prophesy of scripture?

Matt 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Deut 18:20
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

it's neither.

it is simply truth, as in "a little child shall lead them", (faithful little children trust abba)

as abba my father has taught all his children everywhere who have faith in yahshua(yahweh's salvation) by his grace.
