Pastoring today is employment where the pastor controls the narrative to keep the pay checks coming in..

Pastor's have to eat.
Their children need to eat.
Churches have a power bill to pay every month or you'll be sitting in the dark, in a pew, in August sweating like a pig.

So, money is just a tool, and God expects you to have some, as if you didn't you can't tithe, or give to the poor.

"it is GOD who gives you power to get wealth"......
See that?........that is a real verse.
The problem is..... when a teacher turns that verse or "God's riches in Glory" into....."God wants you so rich you stink with money"....
See that?
That is an imbalanced teaching on money. on prosperity....and that produces GREED in people who hear it.

Money is not the issue., and God wants us to have more then enough.
Its when a Preacher ONLY preaches the money gospel, that the stink begins as greed in the heart of the listener.

Here’s another example: Francis Chan.
A graduate of the Masters Seminary, a professed Calvinist (monergist) but in practice not so much. Folks have described him as “Calvinist light” because his teachings and language has been largely Arminian (synergistic) from the beginning.

In recent years he’s admitted openly his doubt of monergism, denies cessationism (admits to speaking in tongues) now he’s running with folks like Todd White, Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn etc. Most recently he’s begun to embrace the Catholic eucharist. His heretical nature is coming to light.

Could we have seen this coming? Many in the Calvinist (monergistic) camp did, they warned of him from the very beginning.
How? Synergism.

Synergism is the default position of fallen man. That’s not to say all synergists are outside the faith (wish it were that easy) but it should always be noted, for at the foundation of all heresy you’ll likely find some form of synergism.

Don’t take my word for it, research it for yourself.

A ministry is NOT a skilled trade but a calling. And even though the apostle Paul could have requested compensation and would have received it in abundance, he actually worked at a skilled trade to support himself. The real issue is the Christian testimony of these wealthy Christian "celebrities" as compared to what Christ and Paul endured on earth.

A living wage is reasonable. Getting rich off Christians is disgraceful. Jesus said "Freely ye have received freely give".

Copeland, to me, is among the worst of the worst false preachers! He pushes the discredited Word Faith gospel. He fleeces the flock. I had a close personal friend & mentor as a young Christian. She got breast cancer. She decided against chemo & radiation, because she claimed "God had healed her!"

She also was the pastor of a Kenneth Copeland affiliated church, she had a PhD from Copeland's Bible school, which is not an accredited institution. More like a diploma mill! My friend admitted she just had to fill out a few forms, write a paper on Word Faith doctrine AND donate a huge sum of money, and she had a PhD.

Copeland Ministries supposedly prayed for her healing from breast cancer. Her church prayed for her. She "confessed" her healing daily, and began to prepare to become a missionary of the Word Faith gospel Malaysia. She got sicker, sought prayer & healing even more. Within a year, the cancer metastasized to her brain, she went insane and died.

That's what I think if Kenneth Copeland. Bad theology and people being encouraged to send money to their prayer lines to be healed, instead of allowing them to use doctors. (Not saying God doesn't heal, but he doesn't heal on demand or for a large sum of money to an apostate pastor!

Well, God will certainly judge him on Judgement Day, & I doubt it will be the way Copeland thinks!

exact figure, either. So you would really be taking a chance to put that kind of effort in, for him to
