Proverbs 13:24 says; "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them."

However, Proverbs 22:6 promises; "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

That being said, by following Proverbs 22 we never have to enact Proverbs 13.

I totally agree with you. I have a 14 year old who is mature beyond her years and a 16 year old who is going on 13 at times...if you know what I mean. Different discipline for each of them.

Theres got to be a better way I dont believe in punishing children in that way my Dad hit me under orders from is second partner. I resented his partner and ended up in a children's home because after that I just wouldn't listen. Luckily I never forgot i wasn't alone.everything a test of you and your partner and your children, club together and be patient it will come good. Hitting kids will just mess with your head when looking back .😊😊😊

Proverbs 22 absolutely does not mention those "middle years" between childhood training and mature age.

Those years are a disaster usually.
