I took a year of German in HS. I started two weeks late and missed the entire foundation of the language. A very difficult language. So what started out as German class quickly transitioned into nap time.

Even funnier, though i was a Christian, the secular metal head guys who listen to bands like Death, Destruction and the like were scared of me from that class. They thought i was a Satanist drug user. o.0

I can relate to this. In HS I took French. Two weeks into the course everyone was started to speak this language except for me. I must have skipped one class to many. I told the teacher I wanted to drop the class. She insisted that I continue as there would be parts of the language that I would absorb. She said that she would guarantee me a D. This was my nap time. Was anything valuable absorbed? Oui!

I was 14, newly saved. And never thought i'd be suspected of being a drug addict seeing as how i'd never tried drugs, or alcohol. haha. Though in a school built for 2000, but holding 4000 students, i don't know that shirt would've done me much good anyways haha.

By the time I got outside to start my work it was 85. Nothing like a pre lunch sweat. haha I did get my outside work done though so now i'm sitting in my air conditioned office. :)

I read this today and found it incredibly funny how true it is about me.

"The ISTPs I’ve met seem really mellow and laid back but..have this hidden core of hating incompetence and all seem to think 90% of other people are incompetent at driving. "

I keep finding all these interesting personality type things on Pinterist.
I'm kinda tempted to go join pinterest now. <--- Should that have gone in the man card thread?
I have a pinterest, but don't use it very often. Pinterest is something nice to have as a reference point for an idea like a birthday party, and an archive for all those memes and recipes.

Most of you from the singles chat room knows Shouryu's antics, he's almost always threatening to pick you up and throw you in a pool of jello or some other food haha it's quite hilarious. I was recently gifted this game and every time I reach a certain point I laugh and remember shour. Why? Because at this point, the character can eat a sandwich (We all know how much Shour loves his food!!) and he turns into this big burly character who can pick you up and throw you to the other end of the room. Random yeah.. but makes me laugh. Here's the video of it.

So I'm the maid of honor for my best friend, throwing the bridal shower tomorrow, and I'm doing a last minute check up on all my fellow bridesmaids to make sure everyone did what they volunteered to do. Facebook conversation with a fellow bridesmaid:

Me: Hey there [insert bridesmaid name here]! Just checking if you picked up the plates/utentils/cups for tomorrow's bridal shower
Bridesmaid: Oh, oops, I told the bride but I forgot to tell you, I can't make it. Work schedule changed.
Me: oh, ok. I understand schedules can change. But did you buy the supplies already? Could I pick them up from you? If you didn't buy them, I need to know so that I can schedule time to pick them up myself
Bridesmaid: *reads message, doesn't reply*

-.-

Thank you.

Some people's kids, eh? I can dispatch a couple of my ninjas to "handle" things for you. If you want.

ha! Well, despite my frustration, deep down I am really trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was just on her lunch break and saw my message just before she had to get back to work. But, considering her track record of being completely unhelpful so far.. I don't know. I'll make sure not to involve her in any of the planning or execution of the bachelorette party!

ETA: Aimee, YES. Ninjas are always my default method of problem solving.

The best predictor of future behavior is relevant past behavior. You might be correct in the assumption that she'll pull through. However, considering your text conversation and her lack of response, I think you're very smart in not including her in future planning. :)

I love the surprises God leaves at our doorstep. Like a bunny rabbit den right in the middle of the lawn. :)

Feeling so overwhelmed. Overwhelmed by God's goodness. He knows how to pour in to my heart and soul and expand my ability to feel, my ability to love, and awakens me to know Him deeper and more intimately. His goodness is so overwhelming, it's heart breaking. How do I even begin to say what's in my heart? How do I even begin to respond to His love that never stops lifting me up and whisking me away to another beautiful story with Him? In those moments, all I have is tears of joy to say all I can say.

So...

I've been having quite a rollercoaster emotional ride here in the USA.

It's been a mix of working hard, and enjoying, a lot of social activities and also a lot of pressure. At first, there was a resistance in me to all of it.
I felt obligated to dislike everything but this country is getting to me.

I am going to miss this place, when I leave. :(

I love working and listening to people discuss their research in cutting edge technology. I love the nature, and the greenery. The water bodies all around and the birds.

I've been taking pictures upon pictures. I love how friendly everyone here has been. I love how we've been bonding together.
I work from 10 in the morning to 12 in the night, and I walk home with a couple of guys and girls back to our apartments. That time we walk back home, we've been dancing, laughing and crying together.

I love how independent I've become - how I am able to handle my finances and my things.

I am really sure, I am not going to be the same person I was.

Next weekend, I am going to go to the Shenandoah Mountains. I am really looking forward to it - Country roads from John Denver keeps playing in my head.

It's beautiful and I am so excited. Yay!

I am not leaving yet, but I know I will be sad when I do. So thank you America. You've been life-changing. :)

Man, I've got this wedding to go to tomorrow, and I get excited for them because there's so much joy and celebration in two people joining their lives together to glorify God, and I love seeing friends of mine experience that. But lonely feelings also like to creep in. I'm glad I'm at least going with a few friends, so maybe that will keep them away.
