You do realize that the majority of the body of Christ treats God like a cosmic genie, right? And that people aren't honest with themselves, other people, let alone God almighty about their struggles of life or faith OR THEIR SIN, right? Christian movies are ironically and sarcastically accurate.
I am a single person.
And I have been single now for many, many years.
In my darkest moments, in the loneliest echos of the sometimes very long days and endless nights, I sit up and talk to God. Sometimes they are deep, soul-drenched, wrenching conversations... And sometime they are silly, mundane, everyday bits and pieces--pretty much the equivalent of talking to Him about what my favorite color is and why I feel so homesick this time of year and yes, even what I like and don't like to eat.
And you know something? I believe God cares.
And it doesn't matter whether 100, or a 1,000, or a 100,000 years pass... I also believe that God remembers those frivolous details. And He know why it was important for me to tell Him those things, because in the end, He is our Superior Companion.
And if we want to share such things with other Christians here in fellowship and laughter and affection for each other, we ARE sharing Him, because where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst.
I believe that no matter how small of a detail, God knows the intent of our heart... That we are trying to build on a relationship that is trying to creep just a little closer to Him, if even inch by inch, and sometimes you grow more and more attached to Someone because you know that you CAN share the smallest details.
What small child doesn't attempt to become closer to their parent by telling them EVERY single detail of their lives? What Great Love doesn't become Greater as you feel more and more freedom to share even the slightest little things?
How much greater then does our Heavenly Father care... about ANYTHING we have to share. Even. If. Others. Do. Not.

Use this. its basically just 90% alcohol, but it works. I got mine at Target, but you can probably find it at walmart or cvs. It was around $4 I think.

Aimee, that's true, but it still annoys the crap out of me. I'm certainly not perfect, but I greatly value honesty, whether that's in myself, people or stories. Maybe I expect too much.

I'm really beating myself up right now. Last night I dreamed that it was the open house and everyone was commenting about the cat smell, saying the house was filthy, etc. and I would try to say I did everything I could, I cleaned this, I cleaned that, but nobody cared.
Dad told me a few hours ago nobody wants to buy the house for those very reasons. I did everything within my power the day before and of the open house. And still no one wants to buy it because they claimed the house is "filthy." (It was not even close.)
I have some ideas on what I could do to help fix some of this but I almost feel like it's too late - this house is just gonna sit until the price is ridiculously low and then my dad will still be paying two mortgages. And it feels like it's my fault.
I told Dad that this house probably isn't going to get sold until we all move, animals and all because obviously while it's being lived in it's impossible to keep the house clean enough for potential buyers.
So....done right now...I want out of this house and out of this nightmare.

Almost forgot what it was like to stay up past 4 AM to write a song. But, I definitely remember what it's like to record it and actually hear it... *shudders*
