Customer and I got sidetracked, started talking about guns (a hobby of his).

Customer: Yeah, my wife and I like to do these competitions. It's pretty fun.
Me: Oh nice. I've been to a range once. It seems like a fun hobby. You guys must go through a lot of ammunition.
Customer: Yeah, we can, but I bought this machine that allows me to make my own rounds, so it saves a lot of money.
Me: Really? That's very cool. I was kind of blown away when I saw how much ammo cost.

the struggle is real. when the number key pad on the keyboard goes one way, but it goes a different way on the phone, so sometimes, melita dials the wrong number -_- lol

I don't like the phrase "God only gives you as much as He knows you can handle."

I don't think it's Biblical, and I don't think it's true.

I have been given many things in my life that I could not handle. I can think of many things that could happen in the future that I know I would not be able to handle. At all.

If I could handle everything, why would I need to run to God? Why would I need to give Him any of that burden if He's only giving me what I can carry on my own?

It's not biblical and it's not true you are correct!

Hey everybody,

I just need to vent for a bit. Many thanks and much love to the people who've asked where I've been and why I've stopped writing threads (ha ha ha... I just accidentally typed "writing threats" instead of "writing threads"... yeah, that seems fitting. :))

I've enjoyed my time on CC and I've always been a very vocal advocate of this site. I've also been writing threads at an almost nonstop pace for nearly 7 years. I never seem to run out of ideas, but that's just one side effect of being cursed with a mind that never shuts off. At last count, I had about 60-80 more ideas, give or take, stashed away in my "CC Thread Ideas" notebook.

However... It seems that now days, if you dare to write a thread in the forums, it's pretty much a given that:

* 1 person will tell you you've posted your thread in the wrong part of the forum, and that they'll have it moved.
* 2 people will tell you CC isn't a dating site.
* 2 or more will throw in a good Jesus Juke, just to make sure we're all behaving and surely not talking about anything that happens in real life--heaven forbid.
* 3 people are going to complain about someone's grammar and/or spelling.
* 2 or more arguments will break out.
* And last, but not least, someone is going to attack you for even writing the thread in the first place, telling you that your point of view is wrong or that the subject isn't even worth bringing up.

Believe it or not, it didn't used to be this way.

I was watching a documentary the other day about the way in which orca whales stalk and kill sharks, and I was beginning to think it was actually a documentary about the "discussions" here on CC.

I love so many of the people here--more than I can think to name. Tintin, I was thinking of you yesterday, because a long time ago, a male poster here wrote (to me, on a thread), "No wonder your husband left you!!", and Tintin jumped to my defense without hesitation. I'll never forget that.

But even defending someone or bantering with anyone will get a person into trouble. I've found out it's been asked (behind closed doors) if I happen to be dating or chasing such-and-such male poster (there are about 5 in question) here on CC.

First of all, if I'm chasing someone, the poor guy will know it. I'm thoughtful enough to slap a target right on his forehead before I start chasing. Second, I wish people would ask ME about my personal life instead of asking other people. Sigh. I know it's just the nature of humanity. But it reminds me of the time everyone was whispering at my workplace that I was pregnant.

I told them, "Sure... if pregnancy is something you can catch by sitting next to someone on the bus." And when I asked WHY ON EARTH they would think I was pregnant, they said, "Because we saw you eating Saltine crackers. And that's a pregnancy food." What the flippin' hooey hee haw...

Likewise, no, I'm not dating anyone on CC. If I were, you'd probably know, because any guy I might like probably would have posted a "911, May Day, May Day!!!" all over the forum by now.

If anyone has a question about me or my life, feel free to ask. :) Yes, I DO bite (depending on how someone approaches me), but don't worry. I never leave marks.

Marks are evidence, and evidence always gets a person in trouble.

And, who knows, I may change my mind tomorrow... And you'll see 6 new threads in a row.

so who is the guy?

Well, his friends call him Non. As in, "Non-Existent". Or, you might know him by his other name... "In My Dreams."

If anything, my one true significant other is Work, and we spend time together 6 days a week. It's a pretty serious relationship.

*hugs Kim*

Love you too, wwjd!! :) Did I ever tell you one of my favorite bands is still a-ha? They were considered a one-hit wonder here... but... hubba hubba. And if I remember correctly... they're from Norway... :D
