What's up peeps?

Back in the day this used to be the default sharing thread. Thus I use it to issue a general greeting and invitation to share random comments. The general greeting I have already issued, so all that remains is...

What's going on with y'all today?
A routine workday supplemented with java.

Work, call insurance company, call animal shelter, grocery shopping, and Wed night Lent service at church. Yep I grew up to be a boring normal adult (but I still prefer boring to stressed out).

Last week I was on vacation and I just left the 50 pound bag of dog food out for my dog to eat at his convenience.

When I returned and put the bag back in the shed, he bounced around as though he was expecting breakfast. Either he forgot to eat the night before (unlikely) or this is one of those Pavlovian reflexes where he gets excited about food even though he's not hungry, just because I was handling the food bag.

Why does God love me so much?
How can I love Him more?
Why do want a third cup of coffee? 😁

I miss this thread. Thanks for resurrecting it!

I have a Zoom meeting in about a half hour. What's going on with YOU?!

What's going on with me today is two things:

1: I popped out to a local farm, got some raw milk (from dexter cows, little short cows that make VERY low lactose milk) and made a gallon of boiled custard. I do this every Wednesday, as Wednesdays are my days off. This week I made chocolate/cherry boiled custard. Last time I used almond extract. Before that it was orange/cinnamon. No idea what I'll flavor it with next week... probably almond extract again.

2: Playing a video game with a very good story and a penchant for crashing every half hour or so. Very annoying - if it had a lesser story I'd give up and move on. But "Kingdoms of Amalur" has such a good story that I am putting up with it, and trying to remember to quick-save often.

nothing much, lockdown again, enjoying the rest. Body needs it.

I dont know about ppl living out in the country, but city life gets hectic so lockdowns are actually a blessing in many ways.

Never confuse passion and anger. We should admire people who are passionate, we shouldn't those who are angry. We need to better differentiate what category other people and ourselves fall under.

A Bruce Carroll song came around in my music collection yesterday, and the second verse fit me so well...

A wise man said most people die
With the music still inside of them
What a shame in a world so in need of a song
As long as my heart has a rhythm
You're gonna hear from me again
I got a melody or two before I'm gone

I'm waiting for a Gen Z Christian song titles "CEO of my life". I wouldn't be mad but it's funny

That was one the yuppies of the 80's were supposed to make, but they dropped the ball.

Well returning streams to sort of it's original purpose (or at least what it was back in its heyday):

I sometimes wonder if I'm making the same mistakes with getting my dog (she's been with me just over a week) as a lot of people make in dating. And in some ways dog has made my life better and in some more stressful, but then I also think about how she's got one major issue that made her difficult to find a home for and how often people are just tossed aside because of one major issue (not saying that anyone should date or marry someone with a known major issue, dealbreakers exist for a reason) when they've got a lot to offer and with a little support and coaching and the right kind of help they could overcome it and become people as good as anyone else.

But I still maintain dogs are better people than most people.

You seem to be quite handy in the kitchen. Today I made a large pot of homemade split pea soup. Turned out very good.
