Hey Everyone,
I have to admit I was a bit perplexed when I discovered there are paid services that help you figure out which other paid services you are subscribed to... Supposedly, they can help you can decide which ones to keep and which ones to ax -- and I guess with just about everything being a subscription now, the existence of such a service is a no-brainer.
But being my old-fashioned self, I miss the days when subscriptions meant print magazines, but most that I subscribed to are gone, only available in digital form (I like physically turning pages,) or are so ridiculously expensive that it's just not worth the price.
These days, about the only subscription service I have is for my phone/internet. I just don't find anything else to be worth it.
But, that's just me. What about you? I'd like to hear about the subscriptions plans you feel are worth it -- or not -- and why.
* What subscription plans do you find essential, or at least worth the cost? Streaming, music apps, fitness, gym memberships, warranties, etc.?
* What subscription plans were a rip-off, or waste of money? How did it go when you canceled them?
* What have been the subscription plans that were the hardest to cancel? (This is one reason why I generally don't sign up for them -- I've heard too many horror stories about them being almost impossible to stop.)
* What subscriptions do you allow your kids to have, if any? Do you have any family members whose finances are being drained because of too many subscriptions?
* Have you found warranty/service plans (such as "Apple Care", for Apple phones, etc.) to be worth the money?
In this culture of almost EVERYTHING being on a rental plan, I'd like to hear from others about where the value can -- and can't -- be found.
