FYI with regards to God "blessing the six days prior to the Day of Rest"

[h=1]Genesis
1[/h]
1 .) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 .) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 .) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 .) And God saw the light, THAT IT WAS GOOD: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 .) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 .) And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 .) And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 .) And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 .) And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 .) And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
11 .) And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 .) And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
13 .) And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 .) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 .) And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 .) And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 .) And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 .) And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
19 .) And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 .) And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 .) And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
22 .) And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 .) And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 .) And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 .) And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
26 .) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 .) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 .) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 .) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 .) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 .) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

In my opinion, God certainly "blessed" all that He created........but that may just be me I suppose.......doesn't take away from our observing a Day of Rest to worship and praise God.

Traditionally it was on a Saturday yes. It has nothing to do with Catholics / not Catholics though. It is likely it changed with the early church to celebrate that Christ rose.

I don't think God is concerned with what day you use, as you should "pray always" anyway :D

Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Eze 20:13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

Whose Sabbaths? God's Sabbaths. God poured out His fury on them because the broke His statutes and judgements, specifically the Sabbath.

Eze 20:16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

And here God reveals the main reason He was angry with Israel, they broke the Sabbath and committed idolatry. You think God didn't care about His Sabbath?

Genesis 2:3 KJV
(3) And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

This text is clear, God blessed the 7th day, it does not say He blessed the 7 days. The text is particular which day was blessed.

I believe Sunday worship is a tradition, but it is also an order from God for his children to worship (not specifically on Sunday's), but to do so. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching Heb 10:25. Also the Book of Acts is an outstanding reference to Christian unity and worship and what can happen as a result of our dedication to worship.

And what day is the day we are to assemble together? From the same book...

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Rest here is Sabbatismos. This is how the Diaglott renders it...

Heb 4:9 Therefore remains a keeping of a sabbath for the people of the God.

SUNDAY WORSHIP - Why do most Christians worship on Sunday when the Old Testament commandment sets apart Saturday as the day of worship? • ChristianAnswers.Net

At the very beginning, the church in Jerusalem met every day in the temple and in private homes (Acts 2:46). Since the first believers were all Jewish, it seems safe to assume that they continued to participate in Jewish synagogue and temple worship for some time.
However, the New Testament makes it clear that the observance of a particular day was not imposed as a binding obligation. Romans 14:5-6 makes it clear that there was some freedom in the matter of special days. Colossians 2:16-17 commanded the church not to allow anyone to act as their judge in regard to sabbath days. And Galatians 4:9-10 warns against going back under the Law by insisting on the legal requirement of special days

The Sabbath is the seventh day. It's a day for rest, not specifically for worship.

Ex 20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:

Deut 5:14 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Yes it is specifically for worship...

Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

From H7121; something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the palce); also a rehearsal: - assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

It is a day for public meeting, for a called out assembly, a holy convocation.

Sunday is called the Lord's Day and it's a Christian tradition dating back to John 20.

John 20:1 The first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

John 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.

Acts 20:7 And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

John assumed his readers would understand the term.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Christ was crucified on Wednesday (the Passover, 31AD) and buried about sunset. Now either He told the truth, or He lied...

Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

He arose from the tomb on Sabbath afternoon at about sunset or else the only sign He gave failed.

So then for 4000 years if every day was blessed and made holy, when did they work?

Lev_23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Where in your bible does it say the other six days were not blessed?

In case you missed an earlier post I made here it is again.

GOD'S BLESSING
[/h]
God blesses his creation
(Genesis 1:22) God blesses the seventh day, because he rested from the work he had done in creation.

It was at the moment of contemplation, a moment of triumph and joy that God blessed his creation, at the end of each day, when he finished His work, God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good, (Genesis 1:31).
By His act of approval and contentment, God blessed everything that He created, until finally at the end of creation He created man and woman in His own image, then He blessed them, desiring for them the best He could offer them in creation.

Yes, God blessed the 7th day because He was done creating, He rested and saw that it was good. It doesn't say God blessed this day only for fellowship/worship. He blessed it because it symbolized our rest in Christ, for we can't work, as God did, to attain the righteous for fellowship with God/our works are as filthy rags. We can rest from trying or working to please God by resting in Christ as our only hope for salvation. BTW, I also think that the meaning of day in Genesis 1 goes beyond the simple meaning of a 24 hour day,we are living in that 7th day now, for God is still resting from His creation or from creating; this of coarse will change when God restores the heavens and earth upon his physical return- but that's another subject.

The sabbath of the Lord was given before sin entered into this world so its original intent was not meant to teach about salvation in Christ. Both Adam & Eve were created on the 6th day and the next the kept the sabbath with God. What do you think they did on that first sabbath?

Thanks for the repost.
You are basing your belief on a type and a shadow in Genesis.
The writer of Hebrews brings it into focus after the advent of the Christ.
Please read Hebrews chapters 3 and 4.

The sabbath of the Lord was given before sin entered into this world so its original intent was not meant to teach about salvation in Christ. Both Adam & Eve were created on the 6th day and the next the kept the sabbath with God. What do you think they did on that first sabbath?

given?
where does it say that in the creation account?
it says He rested.

and where does it say Adam & Eve kept the sabbath with God?
what were they doing? i don't read of them resting.

what is that rest?

Yes it is specifically for worship...

A primitive root; to repose, that is, desist from exertion; used in many implied relations (causatively, figuratively or specifically): - (cause to, let, make to) cease, celebrate, cause (make) to fail, keep (sabbath), suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest, rid, still, take away.

WHY COME Christ defended the Sabbath REPEATEDLY vs the Pharisees teaching them HOW TO DO IT RIGHT if it no longer existed. :|

WHY do you take ONE line out of a covenant GOD wrote for man. That's like me going behind you and editing your posts and then calling you out for the errors YOU made when I wrote them in there.

Christ defended the Sabbath and how to do it right more... much more, than any other commandment was in the NT.

So, let's trust Jesus, and instead of spitting on it, try to do it right. God had a reason for it. Do you trust Him or not?

Let me ask you, if you were GIDEON would you call the men back, tell them to drop teh crock pots and bugles, and pick up swords and shields, simply because you didn't understand WHY you were told to do it as God told you?

Well, that is the equivalent to what happens when people rewrite the Sabbath Day rules.. The Jewish laws concerning the Sabbath/s are gone, we'll both agree. BUT THE SABBATH DAY was NOT A JEWISH LAW any more than THOU SHALT NOT KILL IS.

The Tablets were ONE covenant, not ten. Taking one out, screws the whole thing and tells God you wadded it up and threw it out the window.

Acts 13:39
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. < does this say by the Laws of the Pharisees? or Moses?

Galatians 3:24
So that the Law has acted the part of a tutor-slave to lead us to Christ, in order that through faith we may be declared to be free from guilt.

paidagógos: a trainer of boys, i.e. a tutor
Original Word: παιδαγωγός, οῦ, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: paidagógos
Phonetic Spelling: (pahee-dag-o-gos')
Short Definition: a boy's guardian or tutor
Definition: a boy's guardian or tutor, a slave who had charge of the life and morals of the boys of a family, not strictly a teacher.

3807 paidagōgós (from 3816 /país, "a child under development by strict instruction") – properly, a legally appointed overseer, authorized to train (bring) up a child by administering discipline, chastisement, and instruction, i.e. doing what was necessary to promote development.

3807 (paidagōgos) is used of the role of the Law (OT), especially the necessary "letter" (foundation, technicalities) needed to establish the doctrines of salvation, grace, faith, etc.

are you EVER going to be declared free of guilt through the Law?

the ONLY way the Law will declare you free of guilt is if you live by ALL OF IT.

doing alright so far?

were the Galatians Christians who had received the Spirit and were doing well?

what were they in danger of?

there was an eternal curse pronounced in store for anyone bringing whatever false gospel they were being bewitched by.
what was it? do you know?

where is the Righteousness of God found? in Moses?
