TEMPTING or TRUSTING?

Any here who live in Texas or Oklahoma are certainly aware of the destruction hail can do to everything.

The most common destruction is to homes and cars. Here, at my place, for the last ten weeks we have had severe storms about five of every seven days, and the warning has always been for destructive hail, as well as strong winds and possible tornadoes.

I found a way to hail proof my front windshield and back window. That does not mean I do not pray for God to protect me and mine, for I surely do. Sometimes, though, I wonder if I am tempting God by protecting my car, or trusting that He gave me the idea and that by doing "my part," He will be faithful to do His.

It just seems like rather than sit in my apartment and say: "Well, Lord, I trust You will not let hail damage my car and break my windows," I should do my part and He will do His. I base this idea on Scripture found in Matthew:

Chapter 6:


12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

He clearly states if we do not do our part, God will not do His.

We absolutely need to do what we can!

This is evident throughout the Bible and it doesn’t get any more clearer especially in the beginning of our story when Adam and Eve were in the sinless state IN the presence of God.

He asked them to do things and take care of the animals and to name them and to NOT eat from that tree.

So when we’re faced with natural disasters, health issues, poverty, unable to put food on the table , war and hopelessness, we absolutely need to ask God for help so He can guide us to do our part according to His will and wisdom and highest good in what we ask.

Think about it.
If God did everything we’d be bored and lazy.

Even when God was in the midst of Adam and Eve HE didn’t do everything for them and gave them jobs/tasks/commands to do!

Prayer is there to sustain you and sometimes God does miracles according to His will to show us who He is and that He hasn’t abandoned us.
He does a miracle on top of the other miracle of creation.
Double grace!

He has done 3 miracles for me and because of that, death has lost its meaning to me and He gave me even more joy and energy to deal with an incredible difficult daily journey I have to do which I probably wouldn’t have done if He didn’t grace me with a miracle.

So now I’m doing my part to help the family and God did his part in guiding and gracing me.

This is why Christ says the kingdom of God is in you and begins here and now .

I also think that based on the amount of faith that one has in God, the greater the miracles are that he can do for others.
Because you have no need for them yourself anymore.
You want to help some other hopeless person.

That’s why Christ says with a faith as small as a mustard seed you can move a mountain!
This means that we don’t even have unshakable faith as small as a mustard seed!

And if we did, we wouldn’t move a mountain just for fun or to amuse ourselves, but to glorify God and to help a hopeless person or situation.

Moses parted the seas to glorify God and to help people not for any other reason.

I believe that we absolutely need to do what we can do with the time, tools and resource that God provides. That is where wisdom comes into play. I will pray that the storms do no harm to you, your car and anything else that you value.

Ditto everybody's comments and I would even ask our most merciful God to keep the damaging hail and fierce storms away from your area. It has worked for other believers like John and Lisa Bevere and God did give us authority over this world. Yes it's smart to protect your car, it will add to your faith🙏✝✡🙌🙌🙌

Yes. God gave us a brain to use. Who deliberately leaves doors unlocked these days? I won't leave my car unlocked even when I go to pay for my petrol. There is a great difference between faith and presumption. It's common sense, or perhaps we should say, "uncommon sense" these days. There's not much about anymore.

You do see, realize, this was before the cross of Jesus. This was under Law and was about to be fulfilled in the risen Son, Jesus for us to be made new in love and mercy, a gift from God Father, through Son, for us all?
Daddy, Father, PaPa, waiting patiently for each to see it is done John 19:30, we are reconciled 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 for us to say thank you to Father for Son as the way, the truth, the new life in his risen Life given us to love all as all are called to do in response to God's Love given us first through Son for us all.
1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.

So, after the cross in the risen Son given us, does one, not forgive others? whoever does not might misunderstand the mystery of God, I or anyone else that does not see this truth after the resurrected Son for them, might need to go to God in God's Spirit and Truth and ask to hear truth over the error here on earth still here, getting people to work for salvation. I, myself am not capable of perfection, anyone else? That is why what is done by Son for us all is done Hebrews 10:1-10
