Not meant to be an act of superiority, obviously you do not know me...it was a simple observation. Most of my close friends are American,as well as a daughter and dear son in law..((.who btw, met n this site...lol)) and we jab back and forth regularly, about this and many other topics. SO sorry((A Canadian word..pronounced SAw'REE)) that you took my comments as a jab.

I'm certifiably Canadian. My sons played hockey up to Major Junior, then one took his hockey scholarship and went to university, played hockey, and got a business degree and he is a CA. The other played pro hockey for 10 years in the US and Europe. He quit hockey but kept coaching elite teams, this summer he quit his job to go coach hockey in Hong Kong.
My daughter was a figure skater who put herself through university partly by coaching figure skating. All 4 of my kids took French immersion. We are all polite.
So the problem is two fold. I am not single, and getting up there. But if this was 40 years ago, I would definitely put myself on the auction block. Sorry, I can only advise and point out the myths about Canada instead.
The worst myth is about Canadian bacon. I first ate it in the early 1960's in Oregon. I came back to Canada and found out it doesn't exist. Never has and never will. So weep for Canada, my friends!

No need to explain anything to me. I wasn't offended. I don't care enough about anything to be offended by a stranger on the Internet. I muster up some false indignation occasionally, but only to troll people into showing their stripes. It's kind of my thing.
Yeah, the local fast food factory here has something called canadian bacon. It's a small round piece of ham, only slightly thicker than a piece of paper. Were I Canadian, I would be offended that something so worthless is called canadian bacon.

Worthless? What gets passed off as Canadian Bacon comes from the small end of the tenderloin of the pig. That's one of the most prime cuts on the animal. That's precisely why "Canadian" bacon commands such a premium price compared to the fatty belly bacon. I'd rather have the smoked tenderloin opposed to the brined and smoked belly every single time.

I like turkey burgers. I don't own any guns though. Unless you count Nerf guns. All of our Nerf ammunition seems to get lost within a few days of buying it so they're useless.
Of course we have the normal strip bacon, sort of meat alternating with fat! But lately it seems to have fallen out of favour, instead, people serve turkey sausages. We were just at a church camp, which was held at a Jewish camp. (No signs anywhere - victims of racist attacks?) I refused the sausages because I do not eat mammal meat. The lady giving them out said they were turkey, because the one thing that was asked by the people that owned the camp, was that neither pork nor shellfish be served or prepared in the kitchen. Like looking into another culture!
The sausages were also gluten free, making them accessible to everyone except the diehard vegans and vegetarians. I'm a vegetarian, but not diehard! LOL
