You know, it occured to me...Im not going to get anywhere with posts like these. Even if I post my opinion, people are STILL going to think God actually does good things for people, and I'm never going to understand why God cheated me, and still cheats me of blessings.
I posted because I need an answer. Scripture isn't good enough. I need concrete evidence...NOT that Jesus ever existed (I believe that, what he did on the cross, and that he is indeed the son of God. I dont need evidence for that. I can choose to believe that, even beyond my understanding)...
...BUT DONT YOU THINK FOR A SECOND I CAN BE HERE, AND SAY GOD IS GOOD. I cannot say God is good, caring, or helpful. I cannot say God is fair. I cannot praise him. I cannot give him thanks. I can try to, but in the end, the one blaring fact stares me in the face: What has happened is God's will. What I gained is mine. What I want is not his problem. The good I received isnt' what I wanted. The bad I received was compounded and multiplied. The good I shall receive, he decides whether I get it or not. The bad I receive...he likes to plop more of it on me and others, just for sadistic fun."
If you're gonna tell me God is good, you'd better have a good reason, because I say, he is NOT Good.

Fun, we live in an evil world. Because of this, bad things happen to us. Did YOU ask for whatever problems you have? NO. Did I ask to have cancer? NO. God is not sadistic. He absolutely hates sin. He loves us more than we could ever even imagine. However, this is a sinful world. People are evil. Diseases are sometimes seen as evil. But if we never go through bad times, how can we give praise to him for any good that comes out of it? I had cancer, but I survived.. why? I have no idea. Maybe to go to a place like CC, and share my personal stories with others, who are or have gone through the same things. I'm NOT bragging, but I have had DOZENS of people leave me comments and pm me, saying how inspired they are by me and how much I've helped them. Just the other day, one poster told me that I helped heal her broken heart. THAT is praise worthy!! That is awesome and I'm very humbled when someone tells me something like that.

You definitely need a different mindset and attitude because the one you currently have sucks.. :/ Stop pitying yourself and acting all like "oh woe..poor me." DO SOMETHING to make your life better. Are you sure none of that bad stuff happened because of you and your will? I don't know your situation, but sometimes people cause a lot of their own problems and lay all the blame on God. Don't get it confused. This is a fallen world, including you.

The only way someone gets answers is to look for reality, not look for a fantasy life. But you will turn that around on me again and use that as another excuse to avoid God.
I see you. You are John 3:19-20. (And look carefully, because that is not the usual verse passed around so easily.) You pretend to judge God, but that's not it either. We know the games. It's just when you're that cocky at that young age, you just think you are the first of your kind we geezers have ever run into and we can't possibly remember that far back. You are John 3:19-20. The problem as I see it is that people see God as a genie in a bottle and simply there to grant their every wish. Would you like to be used in that way if you were Him? It's not about give give and more give, it's about being in a relationship with God. Try thinking of Him as an all-powerful friend - there by your side to listen and give comfort. Of course you can pray for stuff but it's not what you want from Him but your needs. God will give you one of 3 answers:
1. Yes
2. Yes but not yet and
3. No because I have something better for you further along the line.
Keep the faith and build on your relationship with God and above all do not listen to the enemy. Stay away from anything evil that is posing as an alternative.

As time passes, I begin to swell down, and reflect on what I've done.
Right now, almost everyone I personally know is living on their own, independent, and engaging in serious relationships. I am still at home with my parents, struggling to find employment.
Since going back to Church, I've been losing more money, and dwindling down a hole.
When any of you talk about God taking care of you...I have to ask myself...are you truly being taken care of...or are you rationalizing the lack of blessing God has given you as nothing? Are you TRULY satisfied with God? I cant take you seriously.
Right now, I am fighting to keep myself employed as I advance forward. I am losing money at an alarming rate. Everyone else I know is progressing forward. I am choosing to be reverent to God regardless, and I'm sorry...but as I am advancing, I cant understand why most of you Christians settle for so little.
Cant God give more? Cant he reverse the poverty and misfortune of one who is struggling? What good is my faith if I wake up everyday feeling hopeless? What good is it? Can any of you happy-camp Christians tell me the truth of how God treats his followers? Can I expect victory, blessing, and financial growth, or am I chasing a pipe dream? Is God a giver to those who are faithful, or is this the best I can hope for?

Funrider, you declare clearly your belief that God is not good. Fair enough. Please go and find the book The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Read it thoroughly. Then find the movie The End of the Spear and watch it, maybe twice.
When you focus on yourself, and your circumstances, you can't see clearly. Sorry to be blunt, but I mean it with good intent. It sounds to me like God is at work in your life and that He has big plans for you. Granted, you can't see that. Read and watch as noted above, and when you have done so, come back and offer your thoughts on the goodness of God... not for your own situation, but for the ones chronicled.

Your flesh perception of Jesus is false, no matter how much scripture you rip into. Even the disciples who followed Jesus on a day-to-day basis could not grasp who he was in their own understanding. But by God’s spirit, they were shown a glimpse of the Son of the living God. God caused them to understand what their eyes could never see, what your eyes cannot see.
Christ within us is the reality. God gives us insight spiritually; everything else is a false reality, a shadow of things. We will only get discouraged and more confused if we try to define God’s spirit in us by what can be known by our flesh eyes, flesh ears, and flesh intellect.
We can never understand Jesus by intellectual understanding. The life of Christ within us is understood only by revelation of God. We are defined as new creations, the union of God and man through Jesus Christ. We have entered into the reality of life in Christ Jesus. We cannot understand it in the flesh, but we can know by God’s spirit.
No wonder you're miserable and discouraged, young man. You're attempting to do the impossible. Your flesh will never see God, let alone receive love from him. I suggest you quit relying on your carnal mind and rest in God's understanding. I hope and pray you do.

Have you ever volunteered anywhere?
Even if you have, do it again; Go volunteer at a food kitchen, or a homeless shelter, a prison, or a nursing home. You don't need to believe in God or be a Christian to volunteer at one of these places.
Commit to once a week, for 4-6 weeks. Can be as simple as a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for a couple of hours.
Try this, and report back. Please let me know if you accept this challenge.
