I would like to also add.....I really believe that the 1st premonition is of the Lord and if we second guess it we will miss the mark.....I have found in my own life that when I go with the first premonition or prompting that it always seens to work out for the best, but when I second guess it, it seems to always falter or an issue arrises....just sayin
Your first post is interesting and something I hadn't really considered... but the command was don't go here, not don't go at all. And my first premonition is to step up to the plate and make myself available (I often wonder if Paul's thorn wasn't healed because no one had the bal** scuse me faith to actually walk up to him and lay a hand). But again, my first premonitions get met with walls. Quick setting walls.

Maybe what you said is right, I'm just not in the right place at the right time. But again, Jesus didn't say don't go, He just said don't go there.

Hello RickyZ and dcontroversal;

Good posts to this topic.

I'd like to add that in Acts 16:6-10, during Paul and his companion's second missionary, after praying, was on their way to Asia and Bithynia, but Jesus, or the Spirit of Jesus, or the Holy Spirit would not allow them to go forth and witness about Him, it wasn't time yet. Instead, in a vision Paul was led on to Troas and Macedonia.

Later in Acts 19:10 Paul would go later to Asia during their third mission and spread the Gospel.

dcontroversal, your "just sayin" is right, well said and agree with you! I feel we all as believers have experienced when we pray fervently to the Lord for His instructions we may discern one way but the Lord has instructed us His way. I have also experienced many times my second guessing would look good along the way, but seemed to fall short. Praise God for His lessons which helps us grow with when our Spirit receives the first premonition.

God bless you, RickyZ and your family.
Thank you, I'll take them blessings :)

True, Paul was told not to go somewhere, but Paul was still given another avenue to follow. And actually, God has pointed us on a different path, but again ... that dang wall. God led us to a new location, set us up perfectly to flourish there - and yet we're going on 5 years down the road from all that and we are STILL hung up in our old location... because God won't take my dear sweet mother-in-law who has been sick for 10 years and near comatose for 3. See, and that's the rub. God gifts us all these great blessings, yet is absolutely determined to keep us from actually taking hold of them. I understand time and place. I don't understand the wall.

Gee maybe I should try to help Mr Trump out and offer to minister in Mexico ;)

God bless you Ricky, it sounds rough :confused:

This maybe a corny thing to say but I honestly believe farther along we understand why...
Pray you can Trust that God is for you cos He cares for you despite the brick walls. Again, might be something you’ve heard before but sometimes His blocking is His protection. Peace to you

That was in reference to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, if I remember correctly. which happened in Acts 2. I have been filled, altho I have to admit the lamp goes dim on occasion. Perhaps that might also now apply to the promised outpouring to come in the end times?
Yes Ricky, I know what you are saying how hard it is to not witness what we know and the deliverance we could introduce provided we are given a chance to witness. Just to sit and watch the opportunities pass without a chance to interdict.

I have seen God work so many miracles while in the mission field, and have seen and received miracle healing. When it came time to leave missions, God allowed my health to completely fall apart. I admit I had seen so much I was probably somewhat cocky. So God had me choose the only option I had open. He had me move in with my family until I could get on disability.

While with my family, God let me start a little computer business to help keep me sane. I was always sharing with God had done for me and others through my family. I wanted to spread truths God had revealed to me so I set up some Bible study sessions. Well, nobody ever showed up and they all fell flat. I asked God: Why? He always said my time wasn't yet and to check that zeal for a while. This scripture is what He showed me:

John 2:4
"And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”" :cool:

Hello Deade;

I am blessed by your post in this topic. What you have pointed out is consistency, keeping God in the center of every step you have taken.

I understand we can get a bit side tracked in our Walk which is why consistency speaks volumes and is huge in the Great Commission.

God bless you, Deade, and your family.

In the book of Revelation the apostle John was told not to record what the 7 Thunders said.
But that was probably the only thing not be recorded. On the other hand every other vision was fully recorded.

Paul had a vision also and was not allowed to recount what was said. Also, Jesus wrote something on the ground with His finger when the woman caught in adultery was about to be stoned. Until it is revealed what the 7 Thunders said, Paul's vision, and what Jesus wrote on the ground the entire Word of God is not yet known. When these things are revealed it may possibly change the dynamic of what is currently understood and known.

Your post reminds me of a chorus to a song that I find helpful;

Farther along, we'll know all about it.
Farther along, we'll understand why.
Cheer up my brother.
Live in the sunshine.
We'll understand it, all by and by.

While burying relatives this last couple of decades: my mother and brother included; I wanted to tell those grieving to quit worrying and trying to figure why someone's life seems cut short. God will share with us all the reasons: farther along--in His Kingdom. :cool:

OK, here's a perfect example.

My father dies last fall and joined my mom in ... well, I honestly don't know where they ended up. They claimed to be Christian but from what they allowed in their home I have to question mark that. Distributions have come from their modest estate. Frankly, the money is nice, but I would have given up every single penny to see my dad stand up and show some respect for himself and his household. But I digress.

We decided that we would donate $10k of the inheritance to various charities. Between Dec 15 and Jan 12, we gave $7500 to 9 charities, including $2500 to a local Bible Camp.

Only 2 of those 9 groups have acknowledged receiving the donation. Of the paper checks we sent out, only one has been cashed (and we handed the envelope to a few of them personally so you can't say they didn't receive it). The Bible Camp cashed theirs (they are the only one) but as far acknowledging, it's nothin' but crickets. And I don't expect fanfare, God says to give in secret so that He may give the reward instead of it coming from men. But I shouldn't have to check with the bank to see if they actually received it (that one was mailed), especially when you are talking about that amount.

So, here we have God telling us to be charitable and giving people, I am trying to be just that, and yet apparently 7 these 9 groups don't want our gift.

Once again, I try to be what God asks me to be, and do what He asks me to do, and once again the effort is stymied, stonewalled, and as irrelevant as humanly possible.

Screw it. I'm taking the remaining $2500 and heading for Vegas.

18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed kept begging him to let him go with him.

Mar 5:19 But Jesus wouldn't let him. Instead, he told him, "Go home to your family, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been to you."

Much yet to learn? don't know. :)

That's a good consideration; but I DID go to my family and try to share with them what the Lord has blessed me with, and they rejected me. Told me to accept the evil they accepted or to stay the heck away.

There is indeed a lot to learn. The man who had been demon possessed - what did he do after that?

It's the amount of wasted, unproductive time that concerns me...

Idle hands...
Hmm.........:unsure: King David got into trouble when he was idle (of course, he was suppose to go off to war and didn’t- so, may not apply in your case).

So, it may simply be a “be still and know that I am God” time.

Perhaps God has you on a “slow simmer.” :giggle:

King Saul sure did get himself in trouble when he didn’t wait for Samuel to show up.

Be careful- don’t run out ahead of God.

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,

but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
