Wow, I just read Oncefallen's posts in the original version of this thread...

You mean, all I had to do was ASK HIM to REOPEN the poll???

I wouldn't have actually had to write everything out all over again?

*double facepalm*

Yes you will. It's inevitable. :p

Ive jokingly made a marriage pact with a friend.... I still have a little over a year before times up. He probably won't even remember. ..lol

I know someone who made a marriage pact with her best friend in high school. They were both bullied and they found comfort with each other. Although they were not romantic at all back then. They decided that if they hadn't gotten married by age 30, they would marry each other. So they did. They were together for about 20 years and had two sons and a daughter. They looked happy and in love. Throughout the marriage, they were romantic and I really believed that they loved each other.

Except once the oldest graduated high school, the man came out of the closet. This was back in 2010. It hasn't been easy for the wife. He moved out and the kids are in a lot of pain too. The wife is depressed and she cannot accept it. I wonder if she knew that he was gay back when they made the pact.

Anyways, if you wanna make a pact with a friend, that doesn't sound too bad. But make sure your friend is straight first. You really need to get to know them.

These pacts are tricky because let's say you marry your best friend, romantic feelings never show up and you fall in love with your new co-worker? It's just a huge risk, I think. Plus, would you be willing to have intimacy with someone you're not in love with? I wouldn't.
