yes I’ve noticed with the last generation especially the younger generations they really need and how ghee for technology it’s is that the world has changed it has such an influence on them like a religion should have like a relationship with Christ should have but technology mostly “speaks as a dragon “ if you know the reference but offers subtly comfort to thier sorrows , pleasure in tbier lonely lives sort of “ I’m good for you listen to me I’ll teach you everything you need to know “

we could t invent things and advance in technology unless God made us capable but then it sounds in my head like Babel we try to take the ability God has blessed us with and turn it against him and invent our own gods or “be our own gods” rather it seems ever since that “dadbern “ fruit we’ve had a real issue in faith and knowing what to believe and do

Brother you are right on here with the reference to babel. That occurred to me too but don't recall exactly how right now. Probably tired now since I usually start day 2am or so. yeah there are a lot of false messages reporting to be Christian and of God but the words aren’t his they are of the world the words of the dragon who fell into earth and speaks to tempt man and deceive them away from the gospel

it’s why Jesus was always so adamant that his disciples stay with his teachings and spread those into the world his word is Gods everlasting word of life

but he knew Satan would come and try to steal it from the hearts of those who heard it and try to tempt them and turn it fruitless and try to cause tribulation and troubles to get them to let it go he knew Satan would eventually change the message through false teachers intent on this function notice how Paul is guarding against it

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

but then if my words aren’t the lambs of my words sound like a dragon talking then this tells the truth not my appearance but what’s coming out of my mouth ? Is it a flood to take the woman ? Or is it a sword to sever the bonds of sin ?

Just collecting information. What is your understanding of "the remnant of Israel"?
In this day and age, those Israelites who are redeemed through faith in Christ. The rest are blinded. But at some time in the future, the rest of the nation will repent.

This post is perfect for when I next talk with House of Jacob. But if a person is blinded it makes little impact it seems, There is some scripture that says that it's being drunk with 'power' or maybe ego. Yea 'ego' latin or greek for I AM and that is taking the name of God and applying to ones self. BAD! BAD! BAD! I don't remember where scriptures are too well but wiil try with search to find this one about being drunk with power or sense of self.

Sounds good, but I hope that you understand that those of God's elect that have not attained to the law of righteousness, have not lost their inheritance of heaven that was secured for them by Christ's death on the cross.
Could you clarify this for me?
How does an elect person not attain to the law of righteousness/

I see the Bible as talking about two groups, the saved and the unsaved, and it uses a lot of different words to describe these two simple groups. Israel is one of those words that is used to describe saved persons. Jews and Gentiles are included in this word Israel. In one place in the Bible (Galatians 6:16) it is called 'the Israel of God'. Just like God says he loved Jacob and gave him the new name Israel, even so he loves each saved person and gives them that new name. We see the 'remnant' or 'those who remain' being used as terminology for saved persons generally as well. For example, in Romans 11 we read, "the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." I see this as meaning those in Christ shall be born again first (they were dead in trespasses and sins), and then they will be alive in Christ and remain to meet the Lord in heaven'.

Many of God's elect children fail to realise that Jacob, whose name was changed by God to be no more called Jacob, but to be called Israel (Gen 32:28) is representative of God's elect (Rom 9:11). When reading the scriptures that contain the word "Israel" they apply it to mean the nation of Israel instead of Jacob/Israel.
But the election of Romans 9:11 can by no means cancel out the election of Genesis indeed it is Paul who draws the doctrine of our election out of the election of Jacob and enforces it saying that election is irrevocable. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

We need to know that Jacob's and our election was decided upon BEFORE we did either right or wrong, good or bad .... before we either accepted or rejected Christ.

God has chosen, that is what election means. Chosen for WHAT? to be saved? no, no,

Chosen to be God's people, God's church. To exclude everybody else? No, NEVER. we are chosen to be a city built upon a hill, not to exclude anybody but that men who are lost and destitute, hungry and naked might look up and find their way to us that they might receive succour.

THAT'S what election is all about.

Nobody considers that the Jews although at present are fallen from grace are still witnesses, negative witnesses, for they clearly show the state of people who reject Christ, what will be their lot. Who does not know that the Jews were chucked out for rejecting Christ? made to wander.

One day the Jews will be vindicated, not for rejecting Christ [although they were predestined too] but that they are still the ELECT, the chosen of God.

Therefore God calls them beloved and we would be wise to consider them so.

Notice it says 'all nations' not just the nation of Israel. That scripture does not identify, certainly not in the context of Romans 11 where Paul quotes the verse about the remnant and applies it to Israel's response to the Gospel. It is very clear in that passage that he is referring to the physical descendants of the patriarchs.

In fact, I know of no passage of scripture that unambiguously uses "Israel" in a way that could include Gentile believers. "They are not all Israel that are of Israel" in Romans 9 may be interpreted to mean that not all physical Israelites are of Israel in a spiritual sense, without including Gentile believers. If one takes 'of Israel' in this context to include Gentiles, it isn't really critical for understanding Romans 11. Even the 'Israel of God' passage gives no context. Paul could have been referring to Israelites who believe in God, just as he refers to 'churches of the Gentiles' in chapter 16. Again, this is not crucial for understanding the remnant passage in Romans 11.

Even the passage in Romans 2 that says that he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, but circumcision is that of the heart, can be interpreted to mean that Jews are only Jews if they are circumcised in the heart, as opposed to a commentary on Gentile believers.

So what I see in your post is you have asserted that various verses.... which do not mention Israel... define Israel.

God clearly has a plan for national Israel, the physical descendants of Israel. Paul is very explicit about this in the book of Romans, which draws to some extent from the song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32. Along with Paul's comments and the mystery of the Gentiles opened up in the New testament, we can understand the song of Moses. Israel rebels from God, going off into idolatry and into unbelief. God uses the Gentiles to provoke them to jealousy (as Paul quotes in Romans 10). Toward the end of the Psalm, we read, "Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with His people." The plan, opened up by Paul, is to open up salvation to Gentile and Jew alike through faith in the Messiah. But much of Israel is blinded, rejects God, while a remnant believes. Then at some point, the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, and Israel's blindness continues until that point.

Paul continues on in Romans 11 to say that all Israel shall be saved. If there is any doubt that he is referring to Israel after the flesh when he says this and when he quotes about the delivering turning away ungodliness from Jacob and taking away their sins (Romans 11:30-31), he makes it clear that he is referring to the physical descendants because he says concerning the gospel they are 'enemies for your sake's, but beloved for the sakes of the fathers.' (v. 28) Paul already established God's judgment on wicked Jews in the early chapters of the book, so he does mean every Jew that ever lived will be saved. Rather, He refers to a future time when the nation of Israel will accept Jesus as the Messiah. We can read about this in the book of Zechariah also.

Romans 4 shows us that Abraham is the father of faith to the circumcision and uncircumcision. He is the father of faith to believing Israelites and also believing Gentiles. Those who are in Christ are Abraham's seed, whether they are Israelites or believing Gentiles. In Romans 11, Paul calls believing Gentiles, Gentiles, and he calls Israel, Israel, whether they believe or not.

If the Lord permits and I have time and remember to do so, I may go through some verses in Romans 11 and elsewhere on this topic.

If you read Romans and read that idea into every verse, you will come away with a very confused interpretation of the book. 'Remnant' shows up in Romans 11 where Paul is explaining why not all Israelites, his kinsmen according to the flesh, are saved. He quotes the verse about a remnant of Israel being saved, and he says 'the rest were blinded.' Is the rest of Israel that will be blinded the church? No, it is clear from the context that the rest were physical Israelites. Throughout the chapter he refers to believing Gentiles as 'Gentiles', not 'Israel.' He also writes, 'blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.' Is he saying blindness happened to the church? No, blindness happened, in part, to the Jews. That is, the part that were not the remnant were blinded, but God will one day save Israel-- who concerning the gospel are enemies for your sakes, he says, but beloved for the sakes' of the fathers.

Jews and Gentiles are included in this word Israel. In one place in the Bible (Galatians 6:16) it is called 'the Israel of God'.
There is no context to prove that is what he means. Paul refers to 'churches of the Gentiles' elsewhere. One could take this verse to refer to believing Israel. However you interpret it, it should not affect how one interprets Romans 1.

Let's look at Romans 11, @ForestGreenCook, @Pilgrimshope, and others. I'll be using the NKJV unless otherwise noted.
Romans 11
1 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Paul makes it clear above that he is referring to Israel as a people-group in this discourse, not some notion of 'spiritual Israel'.
4 But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written:
Notice 'Israel has not obtained what it seeks' is definitely not a reference to saved spiritual Israel. To plug 'church' into Israel clearly does not work in this passage. It makes sense to consider the 'elect' here to refer to a subset of Israel or a group that includes a subset of Israel, here in this passage, because Paul says later in the chapter that blindness, in part, is happened to Israel. Part of Israel is blinded, and part is not.

Paul is not talking about the saints of God being partly blinded, and he is not talking about some kind of visible church being partly blinded and part being the real church. That is certainly not the immediate context, though some may take the passage as some kind of allegory for that. But here, Paul is talking about his own nation as we see in verse 1.

“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.”
9 And David says:

“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always.”
Notice the context here is 'Israel'. This is not stuff Paul is saying about the church. These are blinded Israelites he is writing about.

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!
Again he is talking about Israel here, when he asks if they stumbled that they should fall. Notice here, Gentiles who receive salvation are called 'Gentiles' not Israel. In this passage, Israel falls. But that is not the end of it. There is a fullness coming to Israel, which should ring about even more riches for the world and riches for the Gentiles.

Notice again the terminology here. Gentile believers are called 'Gentiles' and not 'Israel.'

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.
Notice he calls his Christian Gentile readers 'Gentiles', not 'Israel.' Apparently, it is not a dirty word for Paul, certainly not in this context. Paul considers them children of Abraham according to chapter 4, but he calls them 'Gentiles' as opposed to 'Israel' in this passage as we can all see.

And notice this part about the Jew provoking the Gentiles to jealousy,. Paul quoted from the Deuteronomy 32 song of Moses previously in Romans 10, "I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you." God had divided up the nations according to the number of the sons of God, but had kept Israel as His own people... that Israel made God jealousy through idols and went off into unbelief, but that God would use Gentiles to provoke them to jealousy and to anger them, and toward the end it says 'Rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people' as Paul quotes in Romans 15. The Jew without the revelation of the mystery of the Gentiles which was revealed through the apostles and prophets of the church, might have thought of this as referring to the captivity and oppression from the Romans... but why does it say provoke to jealousy?

Israel, God's people, had served other gods. But now we know that while many Israelites would not believe the Messiah, while many Gentiles would believe and would have faith in the God of Israel. And they come to faith not through unbelieving blinded Jews, also. So now there are all these people using 'their' holy books, praying to their God, but not doing it through them. And they think they are supposed to be the light to the nations. But the light came through the Jews who actually believed in the Messiah that they rejected. God pours out His favor on believers, Jew, and Gentile alike.

God pouring out His favor has a redemptive purpose, also, for the nation of Israel, as part of the plan to eventually reconcile the nation to Himself. Continued in the next message.

15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
This is interesting. The reconciliation of Israel is something set to happen in the eschatological future, and so is the resurrection of the dead.

A bit further in the passage:
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
This is a good warning to Gentile Christians who want to boast that they replaced Israel. We should not have an arrogant attitude toward natural Jews. Our attitude should be one of mercy. We should also be humble and realize that part of God's plan is to save us, partly to provoke them to jealousy to bring about the reconciliation of the nation of Israel to Himself, a people who are beloved for the sakes of the fathers.

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
Verse 25 offers another warning to Gentile believers who would be wise in their own opinion and think that they replaced Israel in God's plan. God is going to bring salvation to the nation of Israel through the Deliverer. The Lord will turn ungodliness from Jacob. All Israel shall be saved. What does that mean?

It does not mean that every Jew in history, wicked or not, is free from judgement Romans 2:6-11 says that God will 'render to every man according to his deeds...to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek...For there is no partiality with God.' But God will bring salvation to that nation through Christ, and take away their sins. A reconciliation is coming.

Paul's subsequent words make it very clear who he is talking about:
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
It is very clear that Paul is referring to physical Israel here. 'Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake' makes it crystal clear that the 'Israel' referred to previously is NOT the church. They are beloved for the 'sake of the fathers', so they are not Gentiles, but rather physical Israelites.

Verse 29 disproves the claims of those who say God has no more plans for the nation of Israel.

Recognition of the future salvation of 'the Jews' or physical Israel is found in writings across the theological spectrum. I read a commentary that stated that belief in the future salvation of the Jews was universally held among 'the fathers' by which he meant writers of the early church. An exception would be Augustine, who in an early commentary had a confused interpretation of this passage, but a later work indicates that he later saw the future salvation for Israel. Augustine is influential so a few individuals read him and come away with his hyper-supercessionist idea. Also, future salvation of the Jews shows up in the writings of Reformers and later commentators. It spans eschatological positions. I have seen quotes post-mil authors that support it also.

30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
Notice in the quote above, that our attitude toward Israelites should be one of mercy, in hopes that through our mercy, they might obtain mercy.

Consider this beautiful doxology in light of what Paul wrote in the passage:
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?”
35 “Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”
36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Paul, as a Jew himself, is in awe of God's wisdom as he sees the plan in the Old Testament in light of the revelation of this mystery. God's plan to save Israel involves opening the door for salvation to Gentiles. God uses showing us mercy and salvation to bring reconciliation to a people-group who had fallen into idolatry, and then into unbelief through rejecting the Messiah. They will be blinded until the fullness (or some translations say something like 'full number') of the Gentiles be come in. Paul is in awe and wonder at the wisdom of God's plan.

This post is perfect for when I next talk with House of Jacob. But if a person is blinded it makes little impact it seems, There is some scripture that says that it's being drunk with 'power' or maybe ego. Yea 'ego' latin or greek for I AM and that is taking the name of God and applying to ones self. BAD! BAD! BAD! I don't remember where scriptures are too well but wiil try with search to find this one about being drunk with power or sense of self.
the blinding of Israel was a reaction to the constant rebellion and lack of value for gods word. It’s an example for us now .

We should never think God has abandoned israel or that they are more blind than a gentile sinner. Israel was the only acceptable nation from Abram until Christ, when we say they d speaking of israel there are the faithful saints of Israel and then there are the stubborn and rebellious israel as a nation A singularity of people created within Gods declarations to Abram

Even as he’s declaring destruction of Israel he’s also saving those who aren’t rebels and set against him

what I mean is being an Israelite of the flesh isn’t of value either way it doesn’t make one cursed and blind to God , nor bekng a gentile of flesh doesn’t make us blind and cursed

neither does it bless one born of any flesh and blood even Abram the Hebrews flesh has been deemed unworthy by the law

now it’s all about one man’s flesh and blood and one only if we belong to him then we find our identity where we’re Peter the former Jew , or Luke the former gentile when we accept the gospel we’ve become those God was always blessing his children

Israelites are just people like the rest of us no worse nor better is the idea under the Old Testament law it’s not so the israelite flesh is better than gentile flesh under the law but the law found them out to be sinners as everyone else by their flesh

only the spirit can save us now

Possibly some foreshadowing of events in the scenario given in these verses Genesis 14:13 ¶ And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. 14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. ))))))) commentators claim there is significance of Eshcol and Aner. I use Glucosamine with Chondroitin for knees.

Notice it says 'all nations' not just the nation of Israel. That scripture does not identify, certainly not in the context of Romans 11 where Paul quotes the verse about the remnant and applies it to Israel's response to the Gospel. It is very clear in that passage that he is referring to the physical descendants of the patriarchs.

In fact, I know of no passage of scripture that unambiguously uses "Israel" in a way that could include Gentile believers. "They are not all Israel that are of Israel" in Romans 9 may be interpreted to mean that not all physical Israelites are of Israel in a spiritual sense, without including Gentile believers. If one takes 'of Israel' in this context to include Gentiles, it isn't really critical for understanding Romans 11. Even the 'Israel of God' passage gives no context. Paul could have been referring to Israelites who believe in God, just as he refers to 'churches of the Gentiles' in chapter 16. Again, this is not crucial for understanding the remnant passage in Romans 11.

Even the passage in Romans 2 that says that he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, but circumcision is that of the heart, can be interpreted to mean that Jews are only Jews if they are circumcised in the heart, as opposed to a commentary on Gentile believers.

So what I see in your post is you have asserted that various verses.... which do not mention Israel... define Israel.

God clearly has a plan for national Israel, the physical descendants of Israel. Paul is very explicit about this in the book of Romans, which draws to some extent from the song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32. Along with Paul's comments and the mystery of the Gentiles opened up in the New testament, we can understand the song of Moses. Israel rebels from God, going off into idolatry and into unbelief. God uses the Gentiles to provoke them to jealousy (as Paul quotes in Romans 10). Toward the end of the Psalm, we read, "Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with His people." The plan, opened up by Paul, is to open up salvation to Gentile and Jew alike through faith in the Messiah. But much of Israel is blinded, rejects God, while a remnant believes. Then at some point, the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, and Israel's blindness continues until that point.

Paul continues on in Romans 11 to say that all Israel shall be saved. If there is any doubt that he is referring to Israel after the flesh when he says this and when he quotes about the delivering turning away ungodliness from Jacob and taking away their sins (Romans 11:30-31), he makes it clear that he is referring to the physical descendants because he says concerning the gospel they are 'enemies for your sake's, but beloved for the sakes of the fathers.' (v. 28) Paul already established God's judgment on wicked Jews in the early chapters of the book, so he does mean every Jew that ever lived will be saved. Rather, He refers to a future time when the nation of Israel will accept Jesus as the Messiah. We can read about this in the book of Zechariah also.

Romans 4 shows us that Abraham is the father of faith to the circumcision and uncircumcision. He is the father of faith to believing Israelites and also believing Gentiles. Those who are in Christ are Abraham's seed, whether they are Israelites or believing Gentiles. In Romans 11, Paul calls believing Gentiles, Gentiles, and he calls Israel, Israel, whether they believe or not.

the only way to understand israel is to learn what the prophets had been saying all along that’s how one can understand Paul’s writings about israel he’s not saying anything new he’s saying what they were always saying

both of those statements are true whether the king list of curses for breaking the law and the shorter list of blessing if they kept every word of it both the warnings and blessings were true

what they did was worship false gods and defile every commandment he gave them for hundreds of years and then told everyone we’re blessed God will never punish us like he said

that brought Gods wrath and the curses he was always warning them about in the end the law determined that israel of the flesh are just sinners like everyone else in the world it made them the same and there was no respect unto Israel but rather a curse

Just listening to Jesus and the gospel a bit sort of makes it unavoidable but I’m really nOt interested in arguing brother , I respect your thinking and right to think it just disagree with a lot of it on this subject , but it is a touchy subject for some

You posted a lot of scripture I agree with. I don't see how your whole argument supports this statement. One can also be an Israelite and be blinded, reject Christ, and not be on good terms with the God of Israel. In Romans 11, Paul uses 'Israel' to include such people as well.

Ethnicity does not save us. That does not mean that God no longer sees nations and kindreds. God promised Abraham that through Him all the kindreds of the earth would be blessed. There is also this verse in Isaiah 19,

24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

Equating 'Israel' with 'being saved' clearly does not work when we are reading and interpreting Romans 11, either.

I see the Bible as talking about two groups, the saved and the unsaved, and it uses a lot of different words to describe these two simple groups. Israel is one of those words that is used to describe saved persons. Jews and Gentiles are included in this word Israel. In one place in the Bible (Galatians 6:16) it is called 'the Israel of God'. Just like God says he loved Jacob and gave him the new name Israel, even so he loves each saved person and gives them that new name. We see the 'remnant' or 'those who remain' being used as terminology for saved persons generally as well. For example, in Romans 11 we read, "the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." I see this as meaning those in Christ shall be born again first (they were dead in trespasses and sins), and then they will be alive in Christ and remain to meet the Lord in heaven'.

The saved are all of those that God gave to his Son to redeem them from their sins by his death on the cross, securing them an eternal inheritance in heaven. Jacob as Israel is representative of all eternally saved off God's elect. (Rom 9:11). The remnant are a small group of those that are saved who have been revealed, by the indwelling Holy Spirit, the righteousness of God revealing to them exactly what his Son accomplished on the cross.

It is very clear that Paul is referring to physical Israel here. 'Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake' makes it crystal clear that the 'Israel' referred to previously is NOT the church. They are beloved for the 'sake of the fathers', so they are not Gentiles, but rather physical Israelites.

Have you considered the fact that God uses the term Israel in two different ways in this single verse: "For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel " Here, in chapter 9 of Romans, Paul uses the term Israel in the phrase 'not all Israel to describe cultural physical Jews' but in the very same verse he describes Israel as 'which are of Israel', meaning everyone in Christ (Jew and Gentile). It is no wonder then, that God uses Israel in the same two ways in Romans 11, just two chapters later. To paraphrase parts of Romans 11, Paul disputes the idea that cultural physical Jews cannot be saved. In so doing, he uses the word Israel to mean cultural physical Jews. If they couldn't be saved, then he would not be able to be saved since he is one. Albeit only part of the cultural physical Jews will be saved he notes. Then we read that only part of the Gentiles will be saved as well. However, in Romans 11:25-27 we again get the familiar two meanings of Israel: "blindness in part is happened to Israel (cultural physical Israel), until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel (Jews and Gentiles) shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (a picture of all believers): For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. " The covenant to take away sin is not a covenant of making a political nation of physical cultural Jews. In reading Romans 11:25-27 we see that it is the familiar covenant God has with all true believers: "There shall come out of Sion (heaven) the Deliverer (Jesus), and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (a picture of all believers): For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins". Jesus comes from heaven to die on the cross to turn ungodliness from all he saves and to have the covenant of the taking away of sins for all he saves.
Please note that Romans 11:25-27 does not say 'and then all Israel will be saved'. Rather it says 'And so all Israel shall be saved'. The word so is very important. It means 'in this manner'. And what manner is that? The manner just described part of cultural physical Jews will be saved and part of the Gentiles right up until the fulness of the Gentiles come in. And in this manner all who are saved will be saved.
