So, some say that the Sabbath is a particular day. And on that day we are to rest, spend time with the Lord, rejuvenate for the upcoming week....So, what if one is a Christian and they are required to work on that day - say that person is a nurse or a doctor and they provide critical care in the ER. Are these Christians supposed to find jobs that don't require them to work or be on call. If so, only non Christians are to provide care on the Sabbath? I'd particularly enjoy the possibility of having a Christian taking care of me if I were to arrive at the ER on the Sabbath.

It is a lawful to do good on the sabbath

[h=3]Matthew 12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

12 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Depends on who you ask. 7 dayers say saturday and so do Judaizers. But what if you are in China. Saturday is Sunday and what if you are in Russia, saturday is Friday. Hmmm?

I would like you to explain why in Acts 13:42-44; Acts 17:1-4; and Acts 18:1-4 that the Apostle Paul, along with the Jews and Gentiles, observed the Sabbath day more often than the first day of the week, which is recorded once in Acts 20:7.
Now my concerned is not Paul preaching to the Jews on the Sabbath day, because as you said they can observe it if they want, but the Gentiles are not obliged to observe it. So why didn't the Gentiles in these three chapters just tell Paul, since he was with them for more than two weeks, "preach to us on Sunday because that it our day."

Could you explain what time period is this ? Is it Future or past ?

Isaiah 66

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

What does it mean one eats and the other does not

[h=3]Romans 14[/h]King James Version (KJV)

14 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Quoted often is Romans 14:5-6, saying it doesn’t matter what day we worship on. However, if we look at the entire context of the chapter, we will see that Paul is actually talking about food and fasting.

The word “EAT” appears 15 times in this chapter alone. The word Sabbath does not. So for some Christians to use this passage to prove the Sabbath was abrogated simply baffles reason.
So lets take a look at the passage that is used as proof of Paul saying it doesn’t matter what day we worship:

Paul is writing to both Jewish and Gentile converts at Rome. He advised them to accept those who were weak in the faith (Verse 1) and to not dispute with them over insignificant matters, nor sit in judgment of them. Some of these newly converted Gentiles, being weak in the faith (or newly converted, and possibly zealous in keeping their newfound teachings), refused to eat meats. The reason they did not eat meat is explained in 1 Corinthians 8. Most meat available for purchase at the market had been previously offered to idols at pagan temples. The newly converted having learned about abstaining from unclean foods, would not have eaten them, but seeing others eat of such meats would have been stumbling blocks for them, and would have judged the others for eating them.

It does not speak of the sabbath.

5One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
What is the above passage talking about? There are two clues, Paul mentions a parallel with foodand days. One can observe a day and eat to the Lord. One can also not observe a day and not eat, and do it to the Lord as well. Where else in the Bible can we find a connection with abstinence from food and observing days? Check this out:
[SUP]5[/SUP] Is it a fast that I have chosen,
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush,
And to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Would you call this a fast,
And an acceptable day to the LORD?
(Isaiah 58:5)

Here's the question I have with this verse:

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

Logistically, how is this ever going to be accomplished? All flesh (everyone on earth) showing up in Israel for weekly sabbaths? Don't think so. Every new moon? nah! The 3 yearly festivals? I doubt it's even possible once a year.

So we are left with the only logical conclusion that this verse is to be interpreted in an allegorical sense of worshiping GOD in the spirit, something Isaiah did not foresee.

GOD'S WORD® Translation
One person decides that one day is holier than another. Another person decides that all days are the same. Every person must make his own decision.

English Revised Version
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.

God makes different covenants at different times with men. He made one with Noah that was different than the one He made with Abraham. He made one with Abraham that was different than the one He made through Moses with the children of Israel. The one He made with the children of God through Christ, the best of all, was different than the one He made with the children of the man named Israel.

When God gave the children of Israel the covenant through Moses, He had to first take them out of Egypt and lead them into the wilderness. There is no way they would have been able to keep the commandments through Moses with all the various Sabbath rests, animal sacrifices and feast days if they would have remained in Egypt under its authority.

So Christ coming to enforce the same law that was given through Moses would also have to do the same thing that was done back then, take them out of Egypt (the authorities of this world) into some wilderness where they could once again observe all the statutes and commandments that were given through Moses.

But now under this latest and best covenant the same thing is happening for those of Christ but in a real sense. Instead of coming out of Egypt they come out of the ways of this world, instead of going into the wilderness to perform animal sacrifices, Sabbath rests and feast observances with only one soul once a year ever getting anywhere near the earthly holy of holies, they enter the real Holy of Holies in heaven near the throne of God where there is no sunsets or sunrises or new moons and full moons that are required for Sabbaths and feasts observances. For the children of God who reside with God in the Holy of Holies are themselves holy, thus they, like God their Father and their Brother Jesus Christ, no longer dwell under the sun, moon and stars along with those who still attempt in a limited way to observe some of those laws that were given to the children of men who lived under the sun, moon and stars. The children of God being holy like their Father, are above these temporary lowly elements and live as their Holy Father has for eternity, before there ever was a sunset, a sunrise, a moon and a Sabbath.

Actually one of the Sabbaths is the full moon Sabbath and it was embraces by the Israelite community.

There is the week of Sabbath and there is the year of Sabbath and there are other Sabbath's that aren't being followed by those that believe that Saturday is the day.

We are not under Jewish Law. We have been set free and to seek to be justified by the law is a serious misnomer.
