No one would ever be punished for any crime if the men who executed punishment had to be without sin. No one could serve on a jury, no judge could try any case if that were the standard. I think that apocryphal passage inserted into John, must be the one text most known and referred by the ungodly, not that I describe you with that term.

Let me explain why I quote the passage to Son-in-Me specifically. He is and has been critical of others without looking into the mirror at himself. There is always something wrong with the world and nothing wrong with him. He needs to understand that he is a sinner like everyone is and he is not perfect. Perhaps, I should have quoted Matthew 7:3-5 instead. Again, the quote was direct at the poster and not the riot in Ferguson. Personally, those looters & rioters should be dealt with harshly for their thuggish behavior.

Most likely TM was pounding Zim's head into the concrete when TM got shot.
One lesson one should get from the Zimmerman thing is that if one is going to carry a gun, one simply has to also carry something like a Kimber Pepper Blaster, which is a little plastic red pepper gun, quite powerful. I say that because if one is carrying a gun and gets into a fight, it will likely become necessary to use the gun before the attacker grabs it and uses it on the one resisting.
The Pepper blaster is needed to defend the gun. You do not want to gun-shoot someone who is only armed with fists and concrete pavement. Even though it looks like Zim was justified, his life is ruined, he did jail time, and ended up with a huge debt over a million dollars. So much for our injustice system.
But if Zim had been walking around looking for a suspicious person (bad idea anyway), if Zim had been carrying a Pepper Blaster in his hand, probably nothing would have resulted if he was ambushed by TM, like jumping out and confronting him. If TM had seen that blaster in Zim's hand, likely nothing would have happened, or at worst Zim would have pepper-blasted TM.
Like I say, I think I agree with your sentiments. I just felt I should comment on that passage. Yes, there are other passages to support your POV.

I was an unarmed neighborhood watchman briefly and we had to sign a document declaring we would not carrying any weapon for self-defense. Had the job a couple of years before the Trayvon Martin's fiasco.

I'm not, of course, using the word ALL for that would be illogical. I'm using the word MOST as that's factual. My two black friends live the same lifestyle I do. They are Christians who educated themselves and part of my fellowship. They do not run the street living a thug life making babies they can't raise right, looting and rioting, robbing people, assaulting and murdering, ingesting and/or selling drugs, etc... all while screaming at me that I'm a "racist."
If they did: they wouldn't be my friend or in my fellowship.

Yes, but we are once again heading down a slippery slope.
By militarizing the police force, by giving them the same training and equipment is just the first step our corrupt governmental system is wanting to do. This is just an excuse for them to use this, and thru fear they get people to believe it is necessary.
Next they will do what has been tried to be pushed through for some time now, and that Obama wanted to initiate, and that is to militarize all units and go door to door taking weapons from all civilians. And if you refuse to hand over your guns you will be arrested.
We have the right to bare arms for protection and hunting. Our constitutional rights are slowly being taken away, and by using fear they convince people to allow them to be taken.
The gear they are using is fine as long as used properly, but they are even using it against peaceful protestors and even news cast members that are doing nothing but reporting news.

It is about do officers have the right to use the same deadly force against protestor's who don't have those weapons, that they use on those who do ?
If we allow them to take some of our free liberties away, where will it stop ?
Most likely it won't and then you will see a major uprising in our own country, and you will see an all out war erupt between civilians and militarized police forces.
There is a lot of people who don't like the government being so involved in our lives.
Wait tell they try to force their way into the privacy of our homes. A lot of people will not stand for it.

This is a great thread with both sides making some excellent points that I support. I am both pro & con with militarizing our police force. However, we have numerous terrorist cell in this country who could unleash at any moment, and I would welcome the militarize police force. After all, they are our first line of defense against any brute force.

All it takes is the right motivation, and push and all out rioting will happen in the U.S., not just Ferguson, MO.
Look at how close we have come to WW3 in the past two years, no one has yet pulled the right strings but I don't believe it will take much more.

No I haven't but I am not surprised. Personally, I never suspected Russia to be a major threat to U.S. militarily. Russia & China remind me of Santa Claus buying them billions of dollars worth of toys but the two bullies aren't able to follow the instructions carefully to put them together properly. China & Russia have always been weak(historical perspective) militarily and I believe they are very vulnerable now. Just look how badly they are defeated in the first rounds during the battle of Armageddon

Funny, though because the woman who recorded it with her cell phone has come out multiple times on different news casts and told the same story that what she saw and recorded showed the opposite.
She said he struggled with the officer, and than ran to get away, the officer fired more shots at him, then he stopped and turned around put his hands up, the officer fired twice again one being the kill shot. This is what she said in a nutshell.
