It was posted a few pages back...saying Jesus broke the Sabbath is saying Jesus sinned and the accusations of the Pharisees were correct and He deserved His punishment, instead of being the Lamb without spot. This was not directed to you unless you said it, but if you wish to see who it was directed to you can find it a few pages back.
“A few pages back”.

That is not accountability. It is avoidance. The comments were not personal so they are not slander, but without a evidence, they are baseless.

I posted Scripture that applies to all of us, and you turned it around as if it only applies to me. I guess you are only interested in selected Scriptures, so I will let you continue on in the direction you're heading. I wish you well.
Yes, the Scripture is my path….

Yes, the Scripture is my path….
That's surprising considering that the Ten Commandments Jesus said is the word of God and you keep trying to make it as if the word of God is "ceased" as you put it. When He said by no means will His word pass away. Heaven and earth will pass before His word will, heaven and earth are still here. So is the Ten Commandments- God written and spoken Testimony Exo31:18 in heaven Rev11:19 where His word is settled Psa 119:89

Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.- yet you claimed this "ceased"

Jesus used interchangeably the commandments of God with the Word of God

Mat 15:3 And He answered and said to them, “Why do you yourselves also break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ From the Ten Commandments
Mat 15:6 he is not to honor his father or mother.’ And by this you have invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

Mat 7:13 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men

Which commandment?
‘Honor your father and your mother’ (from the Ten Exo20:12 Deut4:13)

13 making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying…”

These “words” are the Ten Commandments.

The commandments of God Jesus used interchangeably with the Word of God. Wow, can you imagine making the word of God of no effect though traditions of man. That's pretty serious in my mind. Jesus said it was
"in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men". The apostles spoke of this as well Col2:8

“These words the LORD spoke… and He added no more.
And He wrote them on two tablets of stone." Deut5:22

The Ten Commandments are explicitly called “the words” God spoke, and nothing else was added.

The Hebrew phrase is עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדְּבָרִיםAseret haDvarim
Meaning: The Ten Words.

The Ten Commandments is the Ten Words of God.

Can the Testimony of God be edited by anyone?

Mat 25:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Why again used interchangeably with the Ten Commandments, the Law of God.

Mat5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Luke 16:17 It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than for one tittle of the law to fail.

Because...

Psa 119:89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Right where His ark and Testimony is Rev 11:19 Rev15:5 and includes the 4th commandment unedited as we see it continuing for eternity Isa66:22-23

Why again His word is used interchangeable with His Law in Judgement

John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges himthe word that I have spoken (His Testimony Exo31:18) will judge him in the last day.

James 2:11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty (Ten Commandments- the He who said in Exo20:1-17- Gods Testimony Exo31:18)

It wasn't directed to you and I am not required to go back and show you who it is directed to. You are free to do so, its there.

So worshipping only God ceased? Committing adultery no longer a sin? All the prophecies in the OT destroyed that have yet to be fulfilled, the opposite of what Christ taught. Mat5:19-30

This is what the Bible teaches about the OT, the apostles and Jesus all quoted from the OT so it wasn't "ceased" I would consider who is teaching you these things, because its not the Truth of the Word of God.

This was stated about the OT before the NT was complied:

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The veil on the earthy temple being torn meant Jesus fulfilled what He came to do.

Dan 9:27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. (not the Word of God)

The earthy temple showed us what God does in His heavenly temple where His ark of the covenant is Rev11:19 that holds the law of God the Ten Commandments and final atonement has yet to come. Why its still a sin to break the least of these commandments Mat5:19-30 James 2:10-12 1John3:4
Once He died on the cross, as I said, Jewish offerings, stonings, the laws in Leviticus, holy days, these things ceased. This is what we call living under the OC! We don’t abide by these things anymore.

What is so difficult to understand?? The NC has all 9 commandments so we obviously abide by these.

This is what you said
TruthDefender said:
The OC ceased when Jesus died on the cross, hence the veil was torn into 2, symbolizing the OC vanishing away (nailed to the cross, and the NC came into effect).

There is no more offerings and everything they did under the OC ceased.
What is so difficult to understand?? The NC has all 9 commandments so we obviously abide by these.

Can you point where it says we are to keep only the 9 commandments and forget the only commandment God said Remember. So basically do the opposite of what God said. Jesus taught not to break the least of these commandments Mat5:19-30 which includes the Sabbath commandment.

Without the 4th commandment, one would not even know which god to worship in the first three. I can see what the devil has attacked this commandment because he is trying to get us to worship him instead of worshipping our Creator.

You take away the 4th commandment you take away this:

Exo20:11For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Which is the only God we are called to worship- that's why the devil hates God's Sabbath

Rev 14:7saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

No one can take away God's blessing

When the God of the heaven and earth Blesses something, words that have power, words that proceed out of the mouth of God, He blesses forever:

1 Chron 17:27 Now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You have blessed it, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever.”

And no man can take away something God blesses despite how much they are against it.

Num23:20 Behold, I have received a command to bless;
He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

The Sabbath day is blessed forever

Exo 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

We can't take it away. All we can do is forfeit our own blessing from God and keep telling ourself the Sabbath is made for "other people" when the Lord of heaven spoke on this matter and plainly said something else

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.” Mark 2:27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” (not any other day) If Jesus is LORD of the Sabbath day, who is lord of the first day, not anything Christ claims. So if its not God, its someone else. Mat12:30

He allowed His disciples to eat on Shabbat, and He healed on Shabbat, which was not permitted.
Circumcision was required irrespective of whether the eighth day fell on a Sabbath or not. If healing a man via circumcision was required on the Sabbath, it follows that healing on the Sabbath was not only permitted, but expected.

John 7: 22 - 23
22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

This person has twisted what I had said. I told Him that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, but also broke it by allowing His disciples to gather heads of grain to eat, because they were hungry. He also healed a man on this day. This wasn’t allowed on Shabbat, because this is considered work, I guess.

Now he is saying that I said He was sinning, which I never stated! He is God, Lord of the sabbath.

Does the pot tell the Potter how to make it?

With respect, your wording could have been chosen more carefully. :)

I might have said that in the eyes of the Pharisees, Jesus broke the Sabbath. He didn’t actually do so, of course.

However, legalists are not likely to give you the benefit of the doubt, so instead of clarifying they accuse. That’s their error and they stand alongside the Pharisees in doing so.

Because it’s in the NC.
So is the Sabbath- the very first thing after the death of Christ after He ratified His covenant by His blood, we see this...

Luke 23:56Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

Jesus indicated His Sabbath would not be nailed to the Cross- this prophecy was decades later and up to His Second Coming

Jesus speaking...

Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day

Jesus speaking.....after the New Heaven and New Earth and all sin and sinners destroyed

Isa 66:22 “For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,

“So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.

So its not like the Lord did not make Himself clear on this matter- the issue is our belief in His words which is belief in Him

Luke 6" 46“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

The apostles did not have this same issue. They kept every Sabbath with Jews and Gentiles just as Jesus indicated Isa 56:6-7 decades and decades after the Cross

Acts 13:42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

Its all right here in our Bibles, sadly people take what their pastor says over what God says.

Do you not know that the first 4 books (Matt, Mark, Luke, and John) was during the time Jesus was in the flesh? He and His disciples were still Jewish. On the other hand, when He began His ministry (around 30 yrs of age), He was bringing in a better covenant.

Breaking the Sabbath is sinning, you are trying to change the law of God. Jesus being Lord of the Sabbath gives Him the authority to tell the Pharisees they were wrong in their man-made rules they were adding to God's commandments. Jesus being Lord of the Sabbath also gives Him the authority to tell us who He made the Sabbath for- the word He used means mankind Mark2:27.

anthrópos: Man, human, person, mankind
Original Word: ἄνθρωπος
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: anthrópos
Pronunciation: AN-thro-pos
Phonetic Spelling: (anth'-ro-pos)
KJV: certain, man
NASB: man, men, people, man's, human, mankind
Word Origin: [from G435 (ἀνήρ - man) and ops "the countenance" (from G3700 (ὀπτάνομαι - appearing))]

The Bible tells why why the Sabbath is made for mankind to bless Isa 56:2 and sanctify us Eze20:12 because we can't do this ourselves Isa 66:17 this is what the other spirit wants us to believe we can do this apart from God, but we can't. The Sabbath is meant to be a delight and honor God Isa 58:13-14 the Pharisees turned it into rule-keeping this is what Jesus was constantly correcting. Never once did He teach not to keep the Sabbath. He taught we can still do evil on the Sabbath Mark 3:4 Neh13:17 which is forgoing the blessing He gives us Isa 56:2 because without His blessings, what do we have?

The gospels were written decades after the death of Christ. Luke 23:56 is after the death of Christ. You keep going off your own human reasoning instead of leaning on the word of God. He makes our path straight, ours sadly will only lead where Christ said those who follow mans traditions over the commandments of God quoting from the Ten Commandments, sadly in a ditch Mat15:3-14

Yes, I should’ve!! I also used the verses that stated it wasn’t allowed. I never stated that they had sinned, though.

Sin is breaking the law of God. It was never a sin to eat on the Sabbath, why Jesus said they were guiltless. Because it is allowed to eat on the Sabbath. They broke the laws of the Pharisees, not the law of God.

The Ten Commandments is written by the Holy Spirit. Exo31:18 We are told plainly not to add or subtract from them Deut4:2 Ecc3:14 because God said He would not edit them Psa 89:34 not a jot or tittle Mat5:18-19. I mean who can correct God? Even on the holy day of the Lord as if He made a mistake. He doesn't make mistakes we do by listening to the wrong voice Heb3:7-19 and not His Exo20:6 John14:15

From now on, I’ll let God speak:

-"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
Galatians 3:10-14 NKJV

-"What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator."
Galatians 3:19 NKJV

***-"Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor."
Galatians 3:24-25 NKJV

-"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." Galatians 3:19 NKJV

***-"Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor."
Galatians 3:24-25 NKJV
Which law is Paul speaking about......he tells us and you took it as only worshipping God is a curse or the blessing and sanctification that God gives to man who does what He asks as a curse when Paul didn't.

-"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

This is what Moses wrote in a book

Deut 31:24 So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished, 25&that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying: 26&“Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there as a witness against you;

Everything Paul is speaking about is the laws that Moses wrote which were ADDED because of sin. The law that was added because of sin cannot be the same law that IS sin when we break. The Ten Commandments, the only laws God has under His mercy seat which His blood atones for. The laws that God wrote, not man , the Ten Commandments- not 9 that were all INSIDE the ark of God's covenant, the law of Moses was outside.

Exo 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

Deut 4:13 So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone

Exo 25:21 21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you.

Paul's writings which are Scripture came with a warning many would twist out of context 2Peter3:16 I would never use Paul to correct God. Paul was a proclaimed servant of God, never His corrector. Why we need to understand the OT, because it explains the NT. Paul was quoting OT and without understanding these references, we may end up doing exactly what the warnings says 2Peter3:16

Its all right here in our Bibles, sadly people take what their pastor says over what God says.
You think I pay more attention to my pastor than to Scripture? Interesting theory.

I suspect you’re projecting, and have paid more attention to the aberrant instruction of Sabbatarian preachers than to the Bible.

We who are actual Christians are under the new covenant in Christ’s blood, not the old covenant of bulls and goats.
