Jesus, God the Son, is Lord of the Sabbath. He is also Lord of the first day (Sunday), since He was raised from the dead on Sunday, and sits at the right hand of God the Father.
Where is the verse where Jesus says this? I see your words not Christ’s. Do you think Jesus is not capable of speaking for Himself? And man has to correct Him- the God who made everything Exo20:11 Rev14:7 including you and me? He said not to add to His words Pro30:6

Jesus never claimed to be lord of the first day, only the Sabbath day in His plain words- Mark2:28 someone else is lording the first day, I do not know about you, but I want my Lord to be Jesus and not the one we were warned about in Scripture Dan7:25 who makes a counterfeit to everything Christ did. The Sabbath comes with the power of God’s blessing and sanctification Eze20:12 Isa 56:2 because man can’t sanctify a day or themselves Isa66:17- we need God Eze20:20

People debate about Heb 4.

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

The sabbath rest at creation.

Heb 4:9-10
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

There remaineth a rest. = sabbath
Look up the word REST. It is the only place sabbath is used. The word rest is different in all the other verses.

A sabbath remains to the people of God.

He that entered into "His rest" = the rest found in Jesus, which is the gospel truth.
He ALSO hath ceased from his own works = sabbath rest

This must be a sabbath rest because it states "As GOD DID FROM HIS."

God did not rest in the gospel, He has not needed spiritual rest from sin, God rested on The Sabbath day at creation as a memorial for all generations

So the rest we also have is the sabbath rest.
Heb 4:9-10
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

NT command to rest on the Sabbath.
Yes you are absolutely right and I confirm what you wrote

In Epistle to the Hebrews 4:9–10 the writer uses a very special Greek word. It is not the normal word for “rest.” It is a word that means Sabbath keeping.

Here is the text in Greek

Greek
Hebrews 4:9

The key word in verse 9: σαββατισμός (sabbatismos).

This word does not simply mean rest in general. The normal Greek word for rest is “κατάπαυσις (katapausis),” and that word is used earlier in the chapter. But in verse 9 the writer changes the word. He uses “sabbatismos,” which means “Sabbath keeping” or “Sabbath observance.”

In other Greek writings from that time, “sabbatismos” clearly means the keeping of the seventh-day Sabbath.

So the verse could be translated very plainly:

“There remains therefore a Sabbath-keeping for the people of God.”

That is very strong. The writer is not saying the Sabbath ended. He is saying it still remains.

Verse 10 explains it by going back to creation. It says the one who enters God’s rest rests from his works “as God did from His.” That points directly to Genesis, where God rested on the seventh day. The pattern is God’s own Sabbath rest at creation.

The chapter speaks about different kinds of rest:

• God’s rest at creation
• Israel not entering rest because of unbelief
• The future full rest in the kingdom

But in the middle of this, the writer says a Sabbath-keeping still remains for God’s people.

If the Sabbath had been abolished, this would be the perfect place to say so. Instead, he says it remains.

So Hebrews 4:9–10 does not remove the Sabbath. It confirms that a Sabbath-keeping continues for the people of God, rooted in God’s own rest from creation.

That is why many early believers, including Jewish followers of Jesus, continued to honor the Sabbath. The text itself says it remains.

Here are the main versions that translate it correctly as Sabbath or Sabbath rest:

  1. Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
“There doth remain, then, a sabbatic rest to the people of God.”
  2. Literal Standard Version (LSV)
“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest to the people of God.”
  3. Berean Literal Bible (BLB)
“So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”
  4. New English Translation (NET Bible)
“Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.”
  5. World English Bible (WEB)
“There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”

Thank you @TMS

Jesus told us to Keep the commandments, these are the covenant, all ten of them. He was teaching them all magnified them all and explained how to follow them properly, what you say "Under the NC, He did not tell us to keep the Sabbath, as the Jews kept it under the OC." is False. Jesus spoke abundantly of the sabbath, and he himself and the 12 did follow it. Jesus did not ignore the Sabbath. He spoke about it many times. He kept it. His disciples kept it. Here are some verses in the KJV to refresh the memory.

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” (Luke 4:16)

“And he was teaching them on the sabbath days.” (Luke 4:31)

“And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.” (Luke 6:1)

“And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” (Luke 6:5)

“And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.” (John 9:14)

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:” (Mark 2:27)

“And he said unto them, The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” (Mark 2:28)

After Jesus rose from the dead, we also see the disciples continuing in the synagogue on the Sabbath.

“And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.”(Acts 17:2)

“And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.” (Acts 18:4)

These verses show that the Sabbath was not something Jesus rejected. He taught on it, healed on it, and called Himself Lord of it. His disciples also continued to gather and teach on that day. to say""Under the NC, He did not tell us to keep the Sabbath,"" is irresponsible, misleading and diminishes the commandments as a whole.

As for the new covenant Jesus started it and sent his disciples to preach to all parts of the world all that he did and all he said.

Jer 31:31-34 defines the new covenant here it is;

“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.

So all he did and said applies to all humanity, Jews and gentiles, we become one people under God.

Jesus said He kept all of the commandments John15:10 and never sinned John8:46-48 are you really going to take the side of the Pharisees who crucified Jesus because of false allegations. They also accused Him of not being God. This is always such a sad teaching that Jesus sinned and broke one of His commandments, instead of believing His words saying He didn’t.

The Ten Commandments was not nailed to the Cross, only the handwriting of ordiances were which was written by Moses. God, our Creator personally wrote the Ten Commandments. Exo31:18 Deut4:13 Exo32:16 they were inside the ark of God and in heaven, what all man will be judged by James2:11-12 Rev15:5 Rev11:18-19

that is a lie! a dangerous one at that! read Matthew 12:1-8 and repent.

When Paul speaks about the “handwriting of ordinances” in Epistle to the Colossians 2:14, he does not use the word for the Ten Commandments. He uses a word that speaks of decrees, written regulations. The Ten Commandments were written by the finger of God on stone (Exodus 31:18). They were not man-made rules. They were spoken by God Himself before being written (Exodus 20).

The “handwriting of ordinances” describes the record of debt, the charges that stood against us because of sin. When a debt is paid, the record is removed. That is what Christ did. He removed the condemnation that was against us. He did not erase the voice of God. He did not cancel righteousness. He took away the penalty.

The commandments show what sin is. Jesus never said they were evil. He said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”(John 14:15). He also said, “It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.” (Luke 16:17).

To say Jesus broke the Sabbath or broke God’s Law is not a small mistake. It is a serious accusation. If He broke God’s commandment, then He sinned. And if He sinned, He is not the spotless Lamb. But Jesus said, “Which of you convinceth me of sin?” (John 8:46). No one could.

And remember who He is. “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30). To accuse Christ of sin is to accuse the One who is one with the Father. That is a dangerous place to stand. Jesus warned that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit brings severe judgment (Matthew 12:31–32). We must be careful not to speak against the Holy One of God.

Let every person fear God and speak with reverence. Christ did not break the commandments. He fulfilled them in perfect obedience and removed our guilt through His sacrifice.

You have not understood what is said in Hebrews 4. It is not reiterating the old covenant command to cease from labour. Rather, it is reminding believers that we have entered into eternal rest through faith in Christ.

Further, there is more to the concept of "Sabbath" than is generally known. It encompasses the idea of "completion", as in, there is no need to work because the work is complete. It is this sense that we see more clearly in Hebrews 4.

Jesus, God the Son, is Lord of the Sabbath. He is also Lord of the first day (Sunday), since He was raised from the dead on Sunday, and sits at the right hand of God the Father.
Jesus never said He was Lord of Sunday.
There is no Biblical reason the make Jesus Lord of the 1st day.

Even though He rose from the dead on Sunday, He never said it was His new Holy day.

The Lord blessed the sabbath day and Jesus said He was Lord of the Sabbath.

There is no reason why it has been changed.

The change is claimed by the Roman Church and they claim no Biblical reason.

The Catholic Mirror of September 23, 1894, puts it this way: “The Catholic Church for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.”

from the Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine by Reverend Peter Giermann. “Question: Which is the Sabbath day? Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day. Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”

from Reverend Steven Keenan’s Doctrinal Catechism we read this: “Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept? Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day; a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.”

There are more statements by the Catholic church but I think you get the picture. The change was made by the Catholic church not by God.

Jesus even broke the Sabbath. Jesus completed/ fulfilled the Law having nailed it to the cross.
If Jesus broke the law. How could He be a perfect lamb without spot when sacrificed. ?

How could Jesus be the sinless offering?

How is Jesus able to give us His righteousness to cover our sin if Jesus transgressed the law. ?
His sinfulness would not justify us before God. It would not pay our debt because Jesus would need saving from sin.

Gal 4:4-5
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Jesus did not sin
Transgressing the law is a sin..

There are two different laws, sadly you are getting them confused

Can you explain how the commandment to only worship God and not vain His holy name is against us? How is the Sabbath against us when God made the Sabbath at Creation before sin, to rest with God, how is honoring the Lord and is the holy day of the Lord Isa 58:13 against us? Jesus said the Sabbath was made FOR man, not against man. I would consider what you’re saying, this is essentially saying God made the Sabbath against man at Creation= God is against man.

This is the other law that Paul is quoting, not the Ten Commandments written by the Holy Spirit Exo31:18

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.

What was "contrary to us"?

Deuteronomy 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

The book of the law is the handwriting of ordinances. How do we know? It was put "in the side" or "beside" the ark, not in it (see NKJV, et al). The tables of stone were put in the ark. Exo 40:20

He allowed His disciples to eat on Shabbat, and He healed on Shabbat, which was not permitted.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

"At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!" But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?"
Matthew 12:1-4 NKJV
Doing a good action like healing is bad on the sabbath? eating is bad on the sabbath?

You still condemn Christ and say he sinned.

When the Pharisees accused Jesus and His disciples about the Sabbath, Jesus did not accept their charge. He answered them from Scripture and showed their misunderstanding.

First, when the disciples plucked grain on the Sabbath:

In Matthew 12:1–8 (ASV) it says the disciples were hungry and began to pluck ears of grain and eat. The Pharisees said, “Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do upon the sabbath.”

Jesus replied:

“Have ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him; how he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them that were with him, but only for the priests?” (12:3–4)

He continued:

“Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are guiltless?” (12:5)

Then He declared:

“But I say unto you, that one greater than the temple is here.” (12:6)

“But if ye had known what this meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.” (12:7)

“For the Son of man is lord of the sabbath.” (12:8)

Notice His words: “ye would not have condemned the guiltless.” He said they were innocent.

The same event is also recorded in Mark 2:23–28 (ASV). There Jesus added:

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.” (2:27–28)

Then there is the case of healing on the Sabbath.

In John 5:16–18 (ASV), after He healed a man on the Sabbath, it says:

“And for this cause did the Jews persecute Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.”

In Luke 13:15–16 (ASV), when He healed a woman on the Sabbath and was criticized, He answered:

“Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, these eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?”

And when they watched Him to accuse Him, He said in Matthew 12:11–12 (ASV):

“What man shall there be of you, that shall have one sheep, and if this fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man of more value than a sheep! Wherefore it is lawful to do good on the sabbath day.”

Jesus did not break the Sabbath. He showed that doing good, showing mercy, feeding the hungry, and freeing the oppressed are lawful on that holy day. He called His disciples “guiltless” and declared Himself “Lord of the Sabbath.”
