Weird- Jesus personally said the opposite. He taught the spiritual blind are those who lay aside the commandments of God- quoting directly from the Ten Commandments- He said it makes the Word of God of no effect- wow- and it makes ones heart far from Him. Why? Because it is rejecting the law of God Rom8:7-8 He placed there Heb8:10 He goes on to say it makes ones worship to Him in vain and ends it with those who teach and follow this teaching are the blind leading the blind.

What is insulting the spirit of grace is thinking we can sin or break the law of God and are living in harmony with Christ.

Mat 15:3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”—6 then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

Mark7:7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men
Sorry I meant to post this regarding insulting the Spirit of grace.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

We receive grace because all have sinned and broke the law of God. Sin is the same in the OT and it is in the NT breaking the law of God 1John3:4 James 2:11 because His righteous is everlasting Psa 119:172 Isa 56:1-2 Psa 119:142 and God shows no partiality. Rom2:11 The difference is how we seek forgiveness of sins, no longer an animal sacrifice but though true confession and repentance, which means a sorry heart and walking in a new direction. If we continue breaking the law of God and sinning, it insults the Spirit of grace and His sacrifice is now in vain. The problem is not subjecting ourselves the law of God Rom8:7-8, so we find a million reason why we don't have to keep instead of changing our mindset and delight to do God's will Psa 40:8 Heb8:10 because we love Him and want to serve Him over anyone else Isa56:6 He tells us how- but sadly many find more important things to do instead. This is not a new story, why God gives us His Scripture in hopes we learn from those in the past and do not fall into the same example of disobedience as to those who fell before us. Eze20:16 Heb4:11

Do you still sin? If so, you don't do it wilfully? Someone is forcing you to sin?

I think its easy to convince ourselves we are keeping the commandments of God, but it doesn;t make sense to profess it in one breath while arguing against keeping them in another. This is not directed at anyone personally, but this mindset is where I believe why Christ says why do you call me LORD LORD and not do what I ask. John6:46-49 Mat7:21-23

I think there a lot of professed Christians claiming to keep the commandments, but they are keeping their version of them and not God's. He will be the one to sort this all out, all I am saying is its real easy to deceive ourselves.

James 1: 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23;For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

And the Bible explains the law of liberty which is the Ten Commandments- its the law that frees us from sin and death- keeping in harmony with the spoken and written will and Testimony of God. Exo31:18 where James is quoting the "He who said" breaking one we break them all Exo20:1-17

James 2:
For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

Why we see the Ten Commandments at the last Trumpet before Jesus returns. His blood that covers this law under His mercy seat. Rev11:18-19

What all must be done to keep the 1st commandment? What specifically is required in the keeping this commandment? What is forbidden?

There is only one way to salvation and that is to be saved by Christ - He is the Savior, not man, which is why He alone has the title of the Savior and man does not. Salvation by His grace, not in any way by our works. It is a free gift that He gives to His chosen.
In Psalm 119:29-30, he wanted to put false ways far from him, for God to be gracious to him by teaching him to obey the Mosaic Law, and he chose the way of faith by setting it before him, so his has always been the one and only way of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. Christ is God's Word made flesh, so saying that salvation is in Christ alone is not in contrast with following his example of embodying God's Word but rather it is in accordance with it. Jesus saves us from our sin (Matthew 1:21) and sin is the transgression of the Law of God (1 John 3:4), so him graciously teaching us to be doers of it is intrinsically the way that he is giving us his gift of saving us from not being doers of it.

Anything we place above God we are breaking this commandment. Exo20:3 why they are all interconnected, any law we break, we automatically break the very first comamndment.

That's it. You said you think people aren't keeping commandments but you can't tell us what the law requires of man and what is forbidden. Can you at least give some examples?

The law that defines what sin is the Ten Commandments. 1John3:4 James 2:10-11 Mat5:19-30 Rom7:7 why they are inside the ark of God’s covenant and His blood covers the laws under His mercy seat. They are very broad Psa 119:196 just as Jesus gave examples from two of them- anger with the commandment to not commit murder, lust with not committing adultery- if the internal is fixed the external would automatically be keeping God’s commandments, each and every one of them, because you can’t break one without breaking them all, its a chain. James 2:10-12 If our heart is changed by Jesus we would delight to do His will Psa 40:8 because they are part of who we are - written in the minds to know to do them (so we are not leaning on our own understanding) written in the heart that we delight to do because we love Him. If everyone was keeping the Ten Commandments they way God said- can imagine what life would be like- no more sin.

Isa 48:18 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then
your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Acts 15:10.

Why do people continue to put yolks on others they themselves cannot bear?
Do you think that the following verses express a correct view of obeying the Law of Moses?

Psalm 19:7-11
The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules[b] of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

The view the Law of Moses is a heavy burden that no one can bear is incompatible with the view that those verses express a correct view of obeying it. Moreover, if you interpret the Apostles as expressing views that are incompatible with the truth of what they considered to be Scripture, then that should indicate to you that you have misunderstood them.

A false prophet must have a false prophecy, no?
A prophet is someone who speaks for God, not necessarily someone who predicts the future. In Deuteronomy 13, the way that it instructs to determine that someone is a false prophet is if they speak against obeying what God has spoken, so it is not the case that a false prophet must have a false prophecy.

These verses are self-explanatory and clear which completely refute that OC law provides anything of value regarding salvation.

[Rom 3:19-24 KJV]
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

[Tit 3:4-7 KJV]
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Again, Jesus saves us from our sin and sin is the transgression of the Law of God, so there is a direct connection between our salvation and being a doer of the Law of God and the key is to correctly understand what that connection is and is not. Verses that speak in regard to what that connection is not should not be used to argue against the verse that speak about what that connection is. We can't earn our salvation even as the result of having perfect obedience to the Law of God, but that does not mean that there is no connection between our salvation and our obedience to the Law of God. In Titus 2:11-13, the content of our gift of salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly, so doing those works in obedience the Law of God has nothing to do with trying to earn our salvation as the result, but rather we are intrinsically required to be a doer of those works because God graciously teaching us to experience being a doer of them is part of the content of His gift of salvation.

We can't earn our righteousness even as the result of having perfect obedience to the Law of God because it was never given a a way of earning our righteousness in the first place (Romans 4:1-5), but rather the only way to become righteous that is testified about in the Law and the Prophets is through faith in Christ for all who believe (Romans 3:21-22). Rather, the Law of God was given to describe the life of someone who is righteous as it describes the life of Christ, so it is what we get to become a doer of by being give the gift of righteousness through faith. Paul also affirmed in Romans 2:13 that only the doers of the law will be declared righteous, so there is a reason why our righteousness requires us to chose to be doers of the law other than in order to earn it as a wage, namely faith insofar as the faith by which we are declared righteous apart from those works also upholds the Law of God (Romans 3:28-31).

You have the wrong law in view. The law is the law of Christ and to be a doer of it must be given to someone by God. The OC law was done away with in Christ. Those in Christ are led by the Holy Spirit not by their attempt to keep OC law

Yes, you shared this several pages later after I had already been placed in the category of false prophet. I'm still waiting for that poster to share the prophecy that I made that didn't come to pass.

It is also a little disingenuous of you to ask me to quote all your posts but don't act similarly towards others. While it is true that I keep the commandments, I don't do so through aforethought or my own endeavor. I simply walk in the Spirit who leads me in the paths of righteousness. It is Christ in me that leads me to respond positively to the commandments, and not my own compunction. It is only in this way the commandments are not grievous.

My concern for you is that you elevate the law and man's performance of it above Christ and the work of the Spirit. Man's endeavor glorifies man. God's endeavor glorifies God.
"You deflect again. I said clearly you were not a false prophet. The Law (Ten Commandments) has a place, and an important one. Remember the Ark of the Covenant? In the Tabernacle in the desert, it contained the tablets with the Ten Commandments. On top of that was the Mercy Seat, which had two representations of Cherubim with protective wings stretched toward the middle. Between these protective Cherubim is where the presence of God appeared. This description is a representation of God's throne in Heaven from Scripture. God appeared above the Ten Commandments! You say I place too much importance on the Law. I say I do not place enough!

Numbers 7:89 "Now when Moses entered the Tabernacle of Meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus He spoke to him."

1 Samuel 4:4 and 2 Samuel 6:2 both refer to God as the one who "dwells between the cherubim" on the Ark, which was His established place of appearance.

And then there is Revelation 11:19, where John writes that the temple of God in Heaven was opened, and the Ark of the Covenant was seen inside His temple. The Ark is not just an old relic left behind in history. It is seen in Heaven itself. The same Ark, the same commandments, the same mercy seat, present before the throne of God. That should tell us something about how God views His own Law."

Do you understand now the importance of the ten commandments that God called the Covenant?

God said He writes His laws in the heart and mind in His New Covenant Heb8:10 and the New Covenant is established on better promises Heb8:6 not new laws.

How can you tell God the Ten Commandments are not His laws when He both wrote and spoken them Exo31:18 and claimed this unit of Ten as His Exo20:6. As far as I know there is no one greater than He, to define His own laws. Sadly telling God what He claimed is His, puts one in the placed of God instead of His servant Isa 56:6

After what days? The writer is referring to 'those'days'. Don't keep us guessing....what days is he referring to? Tell you what, lets' look at that verse in context to 'further' our 'studies'.

The High Priest of a New Covenant

Christ’s Eternal Priesthood
1
The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2and who ministers in the sanctuary and true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man. 3And since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, it was necessary for this One also to have something to offer.
4Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
The New Covenant
(Jeremiah 31:26–40)
6
Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises. 7For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second. 8But God found fault with the people and said:
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant

with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.

9It will not be like the covenant
I made with their fathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of the land of Egypt,

because they did not abide by My covenant,
and I disregarded them,
declares the Lord.

10For this is the covenant I will make
with the house of Israel
after those days,
declares the Lord.

I will put My laws in their minds
and inscribe them on their hearts.

And I will be their God,
and they will be My people.

11No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother,
saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know Me,
from the least of them to the greatest.

12For I will forgive their iniquities
and will remember their sins no more.”

13By speaking of a new covenant, He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear

V.10 is included in the chapter above. It is not a stand alone verse. To represent it as such is deceptive and someone who does such a thing is not trying to be truthful. You should be embarrassed Sabbathblessing.

This chapter is actually about the eternal Priesthood of Christ. It is not about the commandments.

All commandment followers should also take note, that Jeremiah 31:26-40 is given as further reference to this chapter. What is the reference?

It speaks of Christ being the New Covenant in both the old and the new testaments. Jesus, is THE High Priest of the New Covenant. Jesus.

You have the wrong law in view. The law is the law of Christ and to be a doer of it must be given to someone by God. The OC law was done away with in Christ. Those in Christ are led by the Holy Spirit not by their attempt to keep OC law
can you tell us what the law of Christ is? can you point to scripture that would explain what it is what it contains?

You repeating "you" doesn't delete God's words, we are told to live by every word that He says Mat4:4 not mans.

Ten Commandments is not the sacrificial system- find one blood sacrifice in the Ten Commandments- this is the law that defines sin, what God wrote Himself, what His blood atones for this law why only the Ten Commandments is under His mercy seat. Exo25:21 Removing a law because we feel it doesn't apply, doesn;t change God's everlasting righteousness Psa 119:172 Isa 56:1-2 it just removes what He covers. Pro28:13 Exo20:6 and not a good spot to be in come judgement day James 2:10-12 John12:28

Which is why I always include scripture to prove that what I say is true such as the post I just made.

Perhaps the commandment adherents might condescend to tell us why they cast the words of Paul, who wrote a good portion of the New Testament, away and refuse to address scripture from his letters. Following is a helpful little questionnare that may help the commandment folk to better express their thoughts regarding that matter.

1. Paul did not know Jesus personally (forgetting Jesus personally called him into service because I don't believe that story)

2. Paul did not know scripture

3. Paul did not read the 4 gospels

4. Paul and Jesus do not click

5. Paul says things I don't like/agree with

6. I find it easier to change Jesus words to suit me better

7. Who is Paul?

can you tell us what the law of Christ is? can you point to scripture that would explain what it is what it contains?

It is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Its name is its explanation.

[Rom 8:2 KJV] 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

I'm not asking what the law is. I'm asking what the law requires of an individual. That is, what does it allow for and what does it forbid. Further, are there internal components of the law? If so, what is required? Further still, to what degree is a commandment to be done? To its fullest extent? Continuously? To its utmost.

If you are going to level a charge that people aren't keeping the law, at least explain the law, its demands and prohibitions, and its demonstration and under under whose power it is accomplished.

I think many people here have done far more than consider a mere reading of the law but what each commandment requires both inwardly and outwardly, and know of their utter inability to meet God's standard apart from Him. If you are going to teach, actually teach.
