No you won't listen carefully you will quote the verse below.

Matthew 19:17
And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you
wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

You know better because that young girl in Battle Creek told you so.

Exactly.
All those animal sacrifices were pointing to Jesus.
That was what the entire law and the prophets were announcing to the Jews.

The messiah will soon arrive and fulfill the law because, the law was written for Him to fulfill.

Hebrews 4:3—
For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works;” and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.” Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter into it, and they to whom the good news was preached before failed to enter in because of disobedience,

he again defines a certain day, “today”, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

Jesus said it's okay to do good work on the sabbath day.
The commandment for the sabath is about acknowledging that the work is already finished, and there is nothing you can do to be saved; as much as it is about allowing physical rest for a material day.
God works, and God works through man. The life of the world is supported by people who work a seventh day.

SDA are one day a week Christians that preach an alternate gospel.

A gospel based on the law.

Obey the sabbath or die.

You quoted Isaiah 56 and which covenant is being spoken of?

Isaiah 56:6-7
...And holds fast My covenant;
Even those I will bring to My holy mountain
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will
be acceptable on My altar
.

Unless your making offerings and sacrificing in that old covenant, then your not listening
to what the Lord said.

That is certainly the old covenant that God made with the nation of Israel.

Exodus 19:5-6
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession
among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

Now read Isaiah 56:7 carefully.

Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar.

To be able to join that old covenant at Mt Sinai a Gentile must be circumcised and be living in the
land of Israel
. You can't use Isaiah 56 when your talking about the new covenant in the New Testament.
Gentiles in Rome and Egypt were not in that old covenant.

I don't believe you quoted Isaiah 56 to support Ellen's idea that Gentiles were under the law.

The text explicitly states that God made that old covenant with Israel only.

Don't tell me that I said this because the scripture directly states what I said.

You have nothing to support your wild claim, nothing in the O.T.
The context is in the first verse on the time line

Isa 56:1 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,
And My righteousness to be revealed.
2Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

This is future and in the NT sacrifices are spiritual.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service

Burnt sacrifices are the prayers of the saints

Rev 5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And God's Alter is in Heaven

Rev 8:3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

Isa 56:6“Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants— Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant—
7Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

I would not want to miss out on being part of God's people and His house of prayer for all nations for those who love and serve Him and join themselves to the LORD.

We are either serving God and He invites everyone or we are serving another. Whoever we obey is who we serve. I say we serve the LORD. But we will will have to choose.

Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

Can you show me where it says this from Scripture:

What you quoted in Hebrews shows the Sabbath remains for God's people. Heb4:9NIV "Today" is about not hardening our heart and rebelling like those who broke the Sabbath in the wilderness Heb3:7-19 Exe20:13 that left out a whole generation out of their promised land (rest) Exo20:15-16 why in the NT we are told not to follow in their same example of disobedience Heb4:6 Heb4:11 because we have yet to enter ours Rev22:14NKJV why the Sabbath-rest remains for the people of God and the Sabbath rest is according to the comamndment Luke23:56 Exo20:8-11

I'm not here to take a test. Now your quoting is short. Your giving the whole scripture of the true point. I'm not here to prove I'm biblically smarter. I'm here to share what I believe the Lord tells me. I'm not a theologian, apologetics I know some. I'm here to have fellowship not a debate. So take you haughty self to someone else that wants to put up with a quiz everyday.

Are you Ceph? Just curious if you are using two names since my post was directed to Ceph.

The Bible tells us God’s Word is to be the light to our path Psa119:105 and not to add our words to God’s Word Pro30:5-6, so its not about a test, but more about if one is going to make statements they claim is in the Bible, should be able to point to the verse that says it.

Man, I'm a new Christian. You people here are on me. Come on man. You were not even going through with the scripture before and after to make it clear the point of the words and you people are on me. Come on man.

Ok, my orginal post wasn’t even directed towards you, but to Ceph. I guess you are also Ceph. Ceph was quoting Scripture but than went onto a statement I cannot find in Scripture- why I was asking where it was, if you happen to know, let me know otherwise I wish you well.

Romans 14:5—
One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn’t eat, to the Lord he doesn’t eat, and gives God thanks.
14:13—
Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling. I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

God made the sabbath for men, e.g. a master must let their slave have a day of rest.
The Sabbath that remains is the day after the great judgment, when no one will have to work any more.

No, Michaelarc is not me.

Ok, thats Rom 14:5 which does not say

Romans 14 is addressing how to handle personal disputes Rom14:1 not if we should obey or not obey one of God’s commandments. Why Romans 14:5 says what man esteems, not what God does Exo20:8-11 Isa58:13 Mark2:28 and what man esteems does not trump what God does Man should be servant to God Isa56:6 , not the other way around. The apostles taught we ought to obey God over man Acts 5:29 and keeping the commandments of God is what matters 1Cor7:19

Romans is the word of God, and says that a man who does not observe the day does not observe it to the Lord, and gives him thanks.

I never said it wasn’t the word of God but it doesn't change the context that what man esteems does not trumps one of God’s personally written commandments, Exo31:18 We are told many misunderstand Paul 2Peter3:16 Paul made sure everything must be according to Christ Col2:8 , so we can’t make Paul say something that contradicts God. The Sabbath God placed in the same unit as only worship Him and not murder our neighbor, this is what God esteems. Exo20:8-11 Isa58:13 the apostles were clear we obey God over man. We are given free will though.
