You quoted Isaiah 56 and which covenant is being spoken of?
Isaiah 56:6-7
...And holds fast My covenant;
Even those I will bring to My holy mountain
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will
be acceptable on My altar.
Unless your making offerings and sacrificing in that old covenant, then your not listening
to what the Lord said.
That is certainly the old covenant that God made with the nation of Israel.
Exodus 19:5-6
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession
among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.
Now read Isaiah 56:7 carefully.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar.
To be able to join that old covenant at Mt Sinai a Gentile must be circumcised and be living in the
land of Israel. You can't use Isaiah 56 when your talking about the new covenant in the New Testament.
Gentiles in Rome and Egypt were not in that old covenant.
I don't believe you quoted Isaiah 56 to support Ellen's idea that Gentiles were under the law.
The text explicitly states that God made that old covenant with Israel only.
Don't tell me that I said this because the scripture directly states what I said.
You have nothing to support your wild claim, nothing in the O.T.
The context is in the first verse on the time line
Isa 56:1 Thus says the Lord:
“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation
is about to come,
And My righteousness
to be revealed.
2Blessed
is the man
who does this,
And the son of man
who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
This is future and in the NT sacrifices are spiritual.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service
Burnt sacrifices are the prayers of the saints
Rev 5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls
full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And God's Alter is in Heaven
Rev 8:3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer
it with the
prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
Isa 56:6“Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD,
to be His servants— Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant—
7Even them
I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
I would not want to miss out on being part of God's people and His house of prayer for all nations for those who love and serve Him and join themselves to the LORD.
We are either serving God and He invites everyone or we are serving another. Whoever we obey is who we serve. I say we serve the LORD. But we will will have to choose.
Rev 22:3
And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it,
and His servants shall serve Him.
