From SDA Apologetics:

Question: 1. Have I been keeping up with Seventh-day Adventist thinking and writing? Denominational journals (including university publications) are available for this, as are the university and college extension schools.

Shouldn't the question actually be 'have I been keeping up with BIBLICAL thinking and what is written?'

Yes, it context to what was in the book of the law. The law of Moses.
Thank you, Sabbath Blessing for agreeing with the contents of the book of the covenant (Exodus 24).

The book of the covenant contained the ten commandments plus the ordinances.

Any amendments that are added are simply amendments to the original blood covenant. Based on the words
written in the book of the covenant (Exodus 24).

Your attempt to single out the ten commandments from the book of the covenant is noted.

And after God spoke Him God wrote them Himself and added no more! Deut5:22

Which does not separate the ten commandments from the ordinances in the book of the covenant.

Deuteronomy is enforcing that the tablets of stone held no more than the ten words.

Not that the ten words are greater or less than the ordinances.

All the words of the Lord means everything spoken was law, all inclusive.

Any amendments do not alter the initial blood covenant.

You missed the point of the whole parable. If we are not allowing God to define sin 1John3:4 and not confessing our sins but instead covering them
Where in the NT do we EXPLICITLY see anyone repenting of NOT KEEPING SHABBAT? There is no example of this.
Pro28:13 because we think part of the law of God is not for me, and lay it aside
By making a New Covenant God Himself laid aside many of the requirements and practices of prior covenants. One example of this was circumcision which was required of every male wanting to join the covenants of Abraham and Moses. Perhaps you are the one who selectively makes some commands mandatory while laying aside others which might make getting new coverts more difficult.
According to what God said the New Covenant is His laws written on the hearts and minds of His NC believer Heb8:10
You define the New Covenant just as you did covenant of Moses - as another set of rules to follow. I would not expect you to think anything else since you believe you have the ability to keep God's requirements without the assistance of the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant is not just about keeping laws it is an ontological transformation brought about by forgiveness and cleansing as well as the empowering that comes by being born again by the Holy Spirit.

…4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, [such as keeping Shabbat] but according to His mercy, through the WASHING OF THE NEW BIRTH and RENEWAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. 6 This is the Spirit He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,…
(Titus 3:4-6)
This cannot be accomplished by human effort nor can we grasp the truth with our human minds. It can only be ascertained through an action of the Holy Spirit within us. Without this living transaction with Christ and the Spirit we cannot perceive or enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Nicodemus, who was at the time of Jesus, a leading teacher in Judaism, a Pharisee, did not understand it, though he had studied the Tanach extensively.

Nicodemus came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
3 Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
4 “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
6 Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’

(John 3:3-6)

Being born again is a mystery difficult to explain though you would probably try to reduce even this truth to into a list of rules. However as Jesus said:
8 The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." (John 3:8)
When Jesus spoke of being reborn spiritually He was not talking about learning more about the Torah. He was referring to a personal encounter with God's Spirit which is, to the intellect, a mystery that has to be experienced to be understood:
7 Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with EVERYONE who is born of the Spirit.”
(John 3:3-6)
Elijah and Elisha knew how to hear from the Spirit and to move as He directed; however they were far ahead of their time. Now that the Holy Spirit has been poured out on humanity we should expect to see much more evidence of God working among us.

Where do we see someone repenting from coveting, does that mean we can covet? What an odd way to read the Bible.

So where does it say this? Where did Jesus teach because there is a New Covenant we can now worship other gods, or steal, or lie or break the least of these commandments? Jesus plainly taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments quoting directly from the Ten Commandments and in doing so one will be subject to sinning and judgement Mat5:19-30

God wrote His Laws- i.e. rules in the hearts and minds of His NC beliers hearts Heb8:10 because its still a sin to break the least of these, We do not have to subject ourselves to the law of God, but than we can't please Him Rom8:7-8 so life is about choices and the choices we make decide which path we are on, we are told to take the narrow path, not the wide path most are on. Jesus said not to lay aside the commandment of God quoting directly from the Ten Commandments we do not have to listen to Him, we can listen to whoever we want. Whoever we obey is who we serve Rom6:16KJV God directly invited everyone to serve Him Isa56:6 we can always reject His invitation, He will not force us but wants us to join ourselves to Him and He be our God and we His people Eze20:20

In the state of Michigan.

Battle Creek is called "cereal city".

Many cereals produced in Battle Creek, Michigan ("Cereal City") by Kellogg and Post are considered
unhealthy due to high sugar, refined carbohydrates, and artificial additives. The worst offenders,
often exceeding 40-50% sugar by weight, include Kellogg's Honey Smacks, Froot Loops (and Marshmallow variant),
Apple Jacks, Smorz, and Frosted Flakes.

Thank God for cereal city.

The law of Moses what was written in the Book.

The Ten Commandments was not written by man but by God as shown more than once.

What Moses wrote Exo 24:7 And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

Moses wrote the words of the law that was in the book. Deut 31:24-26

God wrote His laws on tablets of stone- different laws as plainly shown- Moses is not God and God is not Moses. One is the Creator the other the creation.

Exo 24:12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them.”

Sorry if you think the Word of God is a game.

Its there I am going to stick with what God said Exo31:18 Exo24:12 Deut4:13 Exo32:16 Exo 34:28 etc etc

You still go against the words spoken by God and wont listen, and persist in this path. I write this to warn you in truth. Therefore remember, so that in the day of judgment you may not say that you were not told many times already.

Listen,

Did God treat all of those words the same way?

The answer is no.

There is something God did that He did only once, and He did it Himself.

In Exodus 31:18 (KJV) it says:
“And he gave unto Moses… two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.”

God did not write the whole law with His finger. He chose only the Ten Commandments to write Himself.

Then in Deuteronomy 5:22 (KJV) it says:
“These words the Lord spake… and he added no more.”

This shows that when God spoke the Ten Commandments, He gave a complete set. He did not continue adding to that same covenant.

Now look at how God handled these two things:

The Ten Commandments were placed inside the ark.
The book written by Moses was placed beside the ark.

In Deuteronomy 10:5 (KJV):
“And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark… and there they be.”

But for the written law:

In Deuteronomy 31:26 (KJV):
“Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark…”

This difference matters. God is showing us something without needing many words.

  • What is inside the ark is the very heart of the covenant
  • What is beside the ark supports it, explains it, and teaches how to live it out
So when we say, “the Book of the Covenant,” we are talking about a container of many words, including the covenant and the instructions around it.

But when God says “the covenant,” He points directly to what He Himself wrote, what He spoke with His own voice, and what He set apart.

This is why Scripture keeps returning to the same simple truth:

In 1 Kings 8:9 (KJV):
“There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone… when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel.”

Nothing else. Only the Ten Commandments are tied directly to the moment God calls “the covenant.”

So in simple words:

The Book of the Covenant is like a full guide given to the people. It includes laws, rules, and instructions that help them live.

But the covenant itself is the core, the part God did Himself:

  • Spoken by His own voice
  • Written by His own hand
  • Placed inside the ark
  • Called by Him “the covenant”
Everything else is built around it.

If we keep this order, everything stays clear. If we mix it, confusion begins.

God did not make it complicated.
He gave the centre first, strong and unchanging, and then gave the rest to guide the people in living it out.

Remember the book of Revelation where the Ark of God's covenant with Man will be seen in heaven, His commandments ( the Covenant ) is eternal this is clearly what the bible texts reveal.

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Remember your congregational sabbath day is kept broken.

All contracted and salary workers on the sabbath day are welcome.

Just leave your sabbath payday at the door for appearances sake. Bless you for your unspeakable corban gift....

Mat 23:25
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess…Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

why not just do it on the day God asked,
God doesn't ask, He commands.

Here we see the outward slip of pseudo-sabbath keepers: They play at keeping the 4th commandment sabbath, while only doing it by voluntary will and convenience. And so, it's not by commandment of law, but only by the asking.

Whether your congregation does it on the day God once commanded or not, it's not the 4th commandment sabbath, that allows for no exceptions by necessary employment and committed career.

We can to add contracted employees to your congregation's sabbath non-keepers.

read Exodus 16 about the manna.
Your congregational sabbath keeping is as paper-thin as manna wafers.

As a diabetic I absolutely cannot eat cereals due to the high levels of carbohydrate. Unlike protein carbs turn to sugar in very short order. Adding sugar makes them even worse. You would think someone who supposedly had the gift of prophecy would know that.

Kellogg cereals never started out with a lot of sugar. His brother Keith is the one who added the high sugars later for business reasons.

The Bible does present the Ten Commandments as the covenant....

Based on Hebrews 7:12, a change in the priesthood from the Levitical system to the order of Melchizedek (Jesus) necessitates a change in the Law. Thus the law did change Because the Old Covenant law was tied to priestly rituals, the introduction of a new, eternal High Priest means the ceremonial, sacrificial, and legal structures have been transformed or fulfilled, ushering in a better covenant.

More importantly is the fact that the Mosaic law was given at Mount Sinai not in Genesis 1 two Moses and the Israelites only so as to make them a special peculiar people different from other nations

People who support the mosaic laws being binding on gentiles simply do not understand the Mosaic law itself nor the work of Jesus Christ on the cross
