Insults are all you have. No sub for rational arguments. Why don't you punt to a youtube? Along with a bunch of lame assumptions about never-ending war.Thank you Charlie Brown, that answered my question

That is not an insult, it is simply an appropriate description. Already we have seen Trump behave exactly like Lucy and so anyone still taking him at his word is behaving like Charlie Brown.Insults are all you have. No sub for rational arguments. Yeah it is an insult and you are rationalizing. That is not an insult, it is simply an appropriate description.
Where did i say i take Trump at his word? I referenced other sources. Trump is always positive and hyperbolic. The difference with Trump is the velvet glove conceals more of an iron fist as Iran is finding out. Their original leaders are wiped out and their Navy and air force have been severely degraded and largely neutralized as conventional fighting forces.Already we have seen Trump behave exactly like Lucy and so anyone still taking him at his word is behaving like Charlie Brown.
I do not care as long as it gets the USA out of the Iran mess. We have problems on our own side of the pond. On reflection and looking at it from the rear views, we should never have got involved in the first placeFor example, are we really close to signing a peace treaty? Or just a "memorandum of understanding"?
I do not care who signs it. I/we only care about exit strategies. If you are on the other side of the pond then you guys handle it. As is the USA is drawing down USA forces out of Europe and that is why we voted Trump in. We have problems of our own and we also have debt. Foreign aid makes no sense to me when we are in debtAnd who exactly is going to sign it?
That should be obvious even to you.And if we are close to peace why are they shooting at each other in the Strait?
We will see and the point being it will end for the USA. It is an Islamofascist regime.Does anyone really thing the IRGC is going to give up all their demands or that Trump is going to give up all his demands?
Did you just pull all of this out of your backside? Trump is not Obama with the pallets of cash. Your claim that Iranian leaders deny everything is simply incorrect along with zero substance. If we were truly close Trump would have said something like this: "I just got off the phone with the Supreme leader, they are willing to give up the claim to $24 billion, and they are also willing to agree that they have no control over the Strait, however, we still have to iron out the logistics for the Uranium and making sure they don't get a nuclear weapon". If he said something substantive then yes, we are close, but instead it is simply "it is near" and "soon". 0 Substance. Meanwhile the iranian leaders deny everything.
OK, tell you what, I'll give you a full formal apology if in fact the US does sign a peace treaty with Iran "soon" and removes the navy from the Strait. All you need to do is tell me how long a period of time is meant by "soon" so I know how many days you anticipate this will take.Yeah it is an insult and you are rationalizing.

How optimistic are the Iranian leaders?
Recent Statements from Key Figures (as of mid-June 2026): Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been the most positive publicly. On June 12–13, he stated that a memorandum of understanding (often called the "Islamabad Memorandum") "has never been closer" and that an "understanding has been reached on the majority of issues." He cautioned against media speculation on details and noted that nuclear program terms would be finalized later (within ~60 days after an initial ceasefire).

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokespeople have confirmed progress ("most of the text finalized") but repeatedly downplay immediacy. They say no final signing is set for specific dates (e.g., not June 14), accuse the US of changing positions or adding new demands, and stress that nothing is fully concluded.

President Masoud Pezeshkian and others defend negotiations as necessary for Iran's economy and dignity while insisting on red lines (e.g., ending the naval blockade, sanctions relief, and no "surrender" on nuclear rights).

Broader Context and Internal Dynamics:There are fractures within Iranian leadership, particularly from hardliners (e.g., IRGC-linked voices) who project defiance publicly to domestic audiences — emphasizing "victory" through resistance and warning against trusting the US. US officials assess that most of the system supports a deal, with dissent being "minimal," but hardliners want terms that maximize Iran's gains.

The Supreme Leader (Mojtaba Khamenei) is seen as having approved broad contours of a framework (ceasefire, Strait of Hormuz reopening, nuclear steps), but communication delays and his guarded role add caution. Iran often uses intermediaries (Pakistan, Qatar, etc.) and leaks terms favorably.

Overall tone: Pragmatic hope driven by war fatigue and economic pressure, tempered by deep distrust of the US, demands for guarantees, and a narrative of negotiating "from strength." Progress on a limited initial deal (ceasefire + Hormuz) seems real, but full implementation remains uncertain.
Did you read the overall assessment of all the damage Iran has incurred since Oct of 23? Their leaders are hiding and it sounds like they are on their knees at this point and you are assuming they want more? With Trump they will get itOK, tell you what, I'll give you a full formal apology if in fact the US does sign a peace treaty with Iran "soon" and removes the navy from the Strait. I'm well aware of all the damage. The question is about a peace treaty being signed "soon". Just tell me what time period would be considered "soon".Did you read the overall assessment of all the damage Iran has incurred since Oct of 23? 2000 years according to some people.I'm well aware of all the damage. The question is about a peace treaty being signed "soon". Just tell me what time period would be considered "soon".
Big question is whether or not Vahidi is actually dead, it still has not been confirmed or denied yet. The reason this is pertinent is in a nutshell, Vahidi represents the faction that wants to keep fighting. In theory if he indeed perished in the strikes a few days ago then Pezeshkian and Araghchi become more pliable to negotiate their surrender without you know getting lynched by their own cult.I'm well aware of all the damage. I do not think you are.I'm well aware of all the damage.
You did not get it the first time, so why would you get it the second? I do not care about a peace treaty with a bunch of crazy fascists. Only care about the USA being out of the Iran-created mess. How am i supposed to tell you when the USA will exit? The sooner the better. You tell me why Iran wants more damage if they stall? More dead leaders, More hiding while killer drones hunt them down and kill them. Iran leadership is totally destabilized. If Iran sinks a USA ship, it will unite Americans against Iran. The question is about a peace treaty being signed "soon". Just tell me what time period would be considered "soon".
We are on the verge of millions of people in Iran being without water, a human catastrophe that will be apocalyptic. It was not caused by the war, but the war has certainly exacerbated it. We have also seen significant damage to Iran's oil infrastructure, electric generation, and complete destruction of their air defense and "navy". They do have drones and missiles. But the quantity has been reduced by an estimated 11%. There has also been significant damage to underground facilities which house missiles or a nuclear research program. We have also seen a very large number of leaders of the IRGC regime killed or injured. Not only the leaders themselves but the proposed motive in bombing a girls school was that many of those children were from IRGC families. Because of the blockade Iran is struggling greatly financially. We can safely assume that the people who will suffer the most from lack of water, oil, electricity and money will be the ones least involved in the conflict.I do not think you are.
