Jesus showed us that the true Jew is one who does the will of God....we are commanded to walk as Jesus did....and that is alone....from Him do we learn and follow all instruction....unto death

If you look at humanity as a whole..regardless of religious preference...you will see they all follow the same path....but worship in various ways...people marry..have children and so the cycle continues....
remember Jesus said...where the blind lead the blind both fall in the pit....and he commanded us not to trust anyone who teaches contrary to the Gospel....which is the sacred instruction of God

Not sure what you are implying in this thread? Are you saying that we need to acctually forsake fathers, mothers, husband/wives, children etc. and literally sell all that we own?

If so, do you really think this is what Jesus was teaching and meant? Do you really think that God would want mothers and fathers to abandon their children? Or sell their homes and make their children homeless? Or for husbands and wives to abandon one another?

Was he not simply saying to put him first above all else?

Again not sure what your point is? Do you think marrying and having children is some kind of sin?

The abandonment of everything for the sake of Jesus and the Gospel....
would be nice to discuss
Amen the gospel And the promise

Noah wasn’t just instructed with detail to make a big boat , he was also promised life for his belief and obedience . Even as certain destruction was coming on all the world his promise to Noah was certain safety.

had Noah not put building the ark in the forefront and began to do the work , the promise of safety wouldn’t have had any integrity lacking Noah’s faith

There Is no such name as Christian....there are just the children of God and the children of satan......as Jesus said by their fruits ye shall Know Them....most certainly true
Ok, no such thing as a Christian then in the bible. Not even a term used derogatory, in Antioch? Ok I would define a believer today ( or a child of God ) as someone who is in the body of Christ. We can't go back in time to before the cross. We have to look to how salvation is appropriated today . And its not by ' fruit bearing ' i think Cain tried that one .

Yes exactly Christians are disciples of Jesus Christ .
Yes and a disciple is one who follows in the masters footsteps......and if they do not follow and desert their master to avoid the suffering.....then what are they now called...

Walking like Jesus involved fulfilling all righteousness, walking on water , perfect obedience to the law , dying on a cross for the sins of the world , being buried and rising from the dead . I always wonder why folks say " we must walk as Jesus did " ?

The cross is ever before us and in us....as Paul said..I carry the crucified Christ in me

It seems to me that you have a narrow view of what makes a true believer in Christ. You consider yourself to be one, but you think very few others are. Do you attend a fellowship with other believers?

Those are the mysteries of God....and the spiritual meanings are concealed....this is why Jesus said..give not your gift to the dogs...for they will devour

Also why Jesus said said to his disciples...unto you is given to know the kingdom of God..but unto others I speak in parables that they may be ever seeing and never perceiving....as spoken by the prophet Isaiah

I don't think that's true ? Are you referring to this verse ?
9For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.?

It matters how much each person understands

“And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:47-48‬ ‭

what you are saying about walking as Jesus did is the truth and agreeable to any Christian and the high goal I believe that when we find out where we really need to be we have that goal you are articulating and even though we never quite reach it and say “ I’m there I’m actually like Jesus “

it’s meant to produce humility , patience, integrity and those types of things the proper mind in Christ is just about where you are having that goal set as high as the heavens just remember also about the standard going up for some and remaining lower for mothers based on what they understand of the gospel

A good perfect mind in Christ seems to be in the pursuit of him and not actually having achieved the goal

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:13-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

as we walk in the lord we need to live up to the things we do understand of him. But my standard that is my judgement is based upon my understanding God knows everything I know and what I’ve done

but others will be judged based upon what it is they know and what they’ve done

I think the pursuit of perfection in Christ keeps us moving forward I would hate to reach a point I thought I had become just like Jesus because infeel
I would be fooling myself because he is really really really far above me in every way
