Yeah i think it must have been in fashion at some stage and then it just stuck.. I think i came from the Child actress Shirley Temple.. I think she was very popular back then..

We had Safeway here up to a few years ago until it went bust. They had a TV jingle that went ''Everything you want in a Store and a little bit more'' Now I know what the little bit more was. I wonder if the UK population will shrink now they've

I love it :D I grew up on a farm and we had a milk cow too.. Fresh cows milk every day and we never got any weird or dangerous diseases.. :) But i was never told that by my parents.. Come to think of it they never needed to tell me that.. I always finished my bowl like a good boy should :o

I once went shopping with my Mother at Christmas Time and saw two people dressed as Santa Claus. I asked Her how come there was two of them. She said that the second one was his Brother!
 
Lol, my parents never told me anything that was made up I guess. I always knew Santa clause was a fake. And although we always had to eat all of our food they never made up any if this then this. Except like if you don't eat all of your food then you get no dessert.
 
I dont plan on telling my kids (if I have kids I mean) about santa claus. If they ask why they got gifts on Christmas, Id tell them their mother and I got them for them because we love them : p

Oh, this wasnt from my parents, but one time when we were kids we went to like Burger King or Mcdonalds, Im not sure which it was : p But I remember asking what the hamburger I was eating was made out of. I wasnt aware hamburger was cow at the time, I was so young I didnt even understand meat yet : p But my older brother told me they made it out of kangaroo. And for a short time in my life, I believed that hamburgers were made of kangaroo : p

Cant believe I remember that : p
 
Why are hamburgers so called when they are made of beef and not ham?

"If you pull a face and the moon changes you will stay like that" was a regular one, I must always have been pulling faces. LOL. Mum used to know or find out from others everything I did. I used to ask her how she knew stuff and she used to say "a little bird told me so". Another thing she used to say was "be sure your sins will find you out" LOL
 
My parents never used scare tactics (no boogeyman, no "stuff will happen if you eat/ don't east this and that"),

...but I suspect they often laughed at (or got tired of) my questions :p (ADD + inquisitive mind.... I am sure you can imagine) :D
 
As many bad things as I can say about my parents, I appreciate that they never fed me the sack of lies so many other kids get about things like Santa Claus/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy, etc. I also appreciate that when I had a question about something "where do babies come from?", I got a very thorough, accurate, age appropriate answer.
 
Wear clean underwear in case you are in an car accident.

Don't cross your eyes or they will stay that way.

Stop pulling dogs tail.

Do as I say not as I do.

Because I said so.

Stop crying or I will give you something to cry about.

Get your finger out of your nose.

I love you.

Get out of the mud puddle it's not a swimming pool.

My mum also said 4, 5 and 6 LOL, it must have been global.
