In the case of the young ruler. He did not believe that Lord Jesus is speaking in Parables.
MARK 4:34
34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

MATTHEW 13:10
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

And so the young ruler thought that Jesus is referring to his literal physical treasure.

There are disciples of Jesus who are rich in literal physical treasure but they were saved like Luke who is a doctor & Joseph of Arimathaea.
COLOSSIANS 4:14
14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.

MATTHEW 27:57
57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

If the young ruler humble himself, beg and ask Jesus Mercy to reveal the meaning of Jesus commandment.
Then Jesus will reveal to him that he is referring to spiritual wealth in young ruler's heart.
MATTHEW 6:21
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Thir treasure is the wisdom in the word of God that was planted by the preachers of old in the hearts of the Jews.

This is the same treasure that preachers today plant in the word of God.

How to sell and how to distribute the treasures to the poor.
We must beg and ask Mercy to Lord Jesus too so he can reveal how.
Here is the full passage on the rich ruler:

Luke 18:18 A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’”

21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.

22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. 24 Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

There is NOTHING AT ALL in that passage about parables. Jesus DID NOT speak in parables to the ruler; He spoke plainly.

Here is the full verse of Mark 4:34 regarding parables:

"He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything."

You continually ignore the context of the statement. You continually ignore the second part of the verse. You continually apply only the first part of the verse as though the second part doesn't exist. You filter all of Scripture through half of one verse! Given the full text is there for you to read, and that I have pointed it out many times, it is not simple ignorance on your part; it is willful blindness and stupidity.

You have made yourself immune to truth.

It is not easy to humble oneself in the eyes ofthe Lord.
This why it is not easy to accept and understand that Jesus is Speaking in Parables.
JEREMIAH 4:22
22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

No one can gain the "Gift" of eternal life of or by their own efforts -- if one could -- then they achieved it themselves. They earned it.
Without the Father calling a person to Christ -- not one would or could follow Christ by their own power, their own will.

When Christ stated "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Christ was revealing there is nothing a person can do to gain eternal life -- even obeying the Commandments, which can not be done humanly, Christ only has obeyed perfectly.

Without the Father's ONE Spirit in us --doing the work, converting our carnal human nature -- not one person can be saved.
Christ told us there has not been one Good person - ever!

With out the Holy Spirit in a person, converting that person -- salvation is impossible.

It must be God our Father doing the work.

Yes, and we must beg and ask mercy to God because no one is good.
ROMANS 3:10-12
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

God’s command to one person is His command to all people
If you already knew the answer, then why ask the question? I guess you just wanted to hear yourself talk, or make the thread to say “Hey everyone, look at how wise I am”?
