I saw this post in the Misc forums, posted by danschance, so credit goes to him for bringing this to CC and posting it first. But i thought it fitting to post this in the Singles forum for the ladies in case it was not seen in the Misc forums. It's short, and pretty powerful, so i hope you ladies take a few minutes to watch it.

Well, now that I'm crying... I think I'm pretty, but not as pretty as people say that I am. My hair is too thin and my cheeks too full. I've got that scar across my face which can be hidden well enough with make up. I'm too tall for a girl and I'll never be the physical beauty I've been told I have to be. I'm below average in the looks department.

*pokes you in the forehead. Obviously you missed the point of the video, goob. *poke poke poke

That was AMAZING dude. TY for sharing that...even as men this is something we should grasp. Imagine how God sees us? wow...pretty humbling.

Yeah, i thought the same thing. But the women seem to have a harder time than the men, in general. But anyone who struggles with how they look can benefit from it.

thanks for sharing, amazing vid, made me cry, forget that other poeple see u in a diffrent light. the devil tells us that were not good enough.

Great video! It's amazing how accurate the artist is in portaging people he hasn't himself seen.
I am vibrant, healthy and beautiful! God Love.

....I tend to think of myself in terms of, "an acquired taste"
in the past, the better of the women I've spent time with were the ones who liked me for me and could care less about my looks...as opposed to the ones that liked me for what use they could put me to. They were few and far between. :/

I hate the product placement at the end. ....and buy our soap. But that's just me. I see what the point of it was. And thanks for the thread Ugly :)

DuchessAimee, I "liked" your post not because of its contents (because I know you are beautiful inside and out) but because you were honest and raw with us.

I may work up the courage to post how I describe myself later. It's usually not great (I did watch the video a while back though, Ugly, so I know that's the point), but it's something I'm working on. It's a continual process. We are our own worst critics, at least I am.

Most of you already saw a glimpse of that in the Streams of Thoughts thread...

That's funny you even mentioned that arwen,'cause I noticed that too & for a second I thought.."ohhh clever, that just boosted sales in their product 100 fold now...and with Mother's Day coming soon." But it's still a great message.

(As much as I've enjoyed Dove's marketing approach these past few years, with the real beauty campaigns, their products are still too chemical-ly for my personal taste. If they could reconcile their campaigns with better products, I'd be sold.)

The video reminded me of my voice, when I first saw it. It always makes me a little unsettled to hear myself on a recording (Is THAT what I really sound like??!! Is THAT what other people hear when I talk??) because I envision myself differently.
