Because (at least in most cases) we're essentially telling God that He made us the wrong way and we're taking it upon ourselves to try to "fix" His "mistake".

Think of it this way, if Adam and Eve were created perfectly, can you imagine either wanting a gender change? This mentality came as a result of sin in the world. It would never be found in a perfect creation.

The OT Jews were not even allowed to wear clothing from the opposite gender, because it was an abomination to God. God doesn't change. That kind of gender fluidity is still abominable to a most Holy God.
One can not change their gender no matter how much one manipulates their body. If one is doing it to be in relations with someone of the same sex that they themselves were born with they are still a homosexual. This with the fact that they manipulate themselves is an abomination.

It is enabling a mental illness, in my opinion. People who are so unhappy with themselves are mentally ill. It is like the reverse of pride, like an inverted pride that is a delusion. God loves us as we are. “Just as I am, without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me. And as Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.”
If a person despises themselves so much, they seek to change gender, it means the person does not know the love of God- the all encompassing love of God who loves us just as we are.
It is just very sad.

I just paused on a recent podcast of a transgender person who likes men and he is a man. I mean how clearer can you get? The bible clearly states men don’t throw yourself with men. Maybe that person hasn’t read that passage but if he has he should get rid of that sin because that is not the way to be. Some sins are mentioned in the bible but others you have to really find in order to come to realization. He’s got an easy case but you cannot play with something like that.

About the same problems I have with sewing a teddy bear into someone's body because they think they are a teddy bear.
1. They're not a teddy bear.
2. They will never become a teddy bear.
3. They're not made to be a teddy bear.
4. Changing them surgically causes even more problems.
5. They're a suit short of a full deck if they think it works, and need counseling -- not surgery.
6. Execute the surgeon for hacking up a real person's body for no reason.

Ah, but then that presents another problem. If we were made the way God intended us to be made, than should a person born without a hand be left that way? Or would it be a good idea to give him/her a hand? (Assuming we get to the skill levels to do that some day.)

However, my post was in direct response to the OP's question about transgendered people, and what we as Christians should think of them. My assertion that we shouldn't try to "fix" what God has done was in reference to sex and gender only, because that's what the OP's question was about.
There are a small number of people who are born with both sets of sex organs, and they have to undergo surgery as well as other procedures & treatments to make them the sex/gender they wish to be. I didn't include such people in my earlier post. I was referring to people who are born one sex or the other and are just "dissatisfied" with the way they were born.
I am definitely on board with giving people artificial or prosthetic limbs and such if they happen to be born without them (or lose them due to illness or injury). To me, that's not telling God He's wrong; it's helping people to function in this world in all non-sexual areas.
I know it sounds inconsistent on my part, and I hope I haven't confused things further.

Following your position, would homosexuality still be a sin? After all, people opting for this surgery engage in such behavior, prior to any physical transformation.

Likely another troll thread starter. They start controversial threads posed as questions then disappear. I see it as "cowardly trolling".
I don't have a problem at all with it because I have never even thought about such a thing as my focus is on other things.
