(How should the church respond to the transgender movement?) I can somewhat speak directly to this issue, since I have an openly gay family member who attends church regularly. His position is that the church should be accepting of his lifestyle without expecting any real change of heart to repent and follow Christ. Sadly, many churches do this, if for no other reason than the tithes and fear of being persecuted by the world for righteousness sake.
Matt. 28: (The Great Commission) to go into the world and make disciples teaching them to observe what so ever we have been taught. How convenient is that when the world walks right through the front door?
The church needs to fulfill its' purpose of being salt and light in this world, and once again realize that the work of Christ is to seek, save and transform each of us to reflect the righteousness of God.
Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. " And

First of all this is just a funny joke that most people say when someone wants to leave. In that link i also make fun of that idiom.
As far as the discussion between you, Magenta, Ted or ResidentAlien goes, i would say that if you don't know a lot about the people here than i would suggest that you don't say a whole lot.
Magenta is right about RA, but if you don't believe that, run a search on his posts to find out for yourself.
So i would advise you get to know some people's personalities and writing styles first.
Also, don't take this too seriously anyway. It's the internet. If you make an assessment about someone, this is more for you and only you. You're not going to get a raise or a demotion on your job basically.
Like you said earlier, it's mainly about enjoying the edifying things that someone has to say. That's what i'm after too. I apply this concept in real life too. Ignore the white noise and focus on the good stuff.

I totally agree that as believers must not lose sight of our great commission. At the same time the church must not cave into the cultural norms of today.
How is your church dealing with this individual?

If they are engaging in sexual perversions and gave no inclination to repent and do not before passing from this earth they will not be spending eternity with our creator. Where exactly God puts them only he knows.
If they are sinning in this manner but are doing their best to change we are not to judge what will happen should they pass. The Lord knows the heart and will have the final say.
There are many who are into sexual perversions and many who are trying to change. Like any who may be addicted but are trying to change they require compassion ( not sympathy), understanding, firmness, guidance and much prayer.

Does success in sin excuse it? How much time in being deceptive excuses the lie?
What if so called "Donna" was engaged in some other ergregious sin amd sucessfully hiding it. Say robbery or identity theft, or even just pathalogical lying? Does time and sucess mean its ok?

No, I don't think it does anymore than a pastor hiding his extra marital relations out if plain view.
What if her life was exemplary to the point it put many professing Christians to shame when compared to hers?
