What caused you to question the Gospel narrative which plainly says that Christ was crucified between two malefactors (criminals who may have been more than just petty thieves)?Q: did Jesus die on the cross between two thieves?

It is the first physical death we are told of that resulted in going to heaven that very day. Before that, all through the OT the death of the saints was spoken of as sleep or going to be with the Fathers.
At the crucifixion the curtain at the temple was split and such as Moses became alive so they were seen in the town. The two thieves teach us about the two kinds of death we can have today.
First, welcome to CC.He was crucified w/ 2 but He died with only one. The other was cleansed. He died for both but only one hid in the shadow of His wings
Rom. 8:1-2 & 33
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death
33: Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

That still does not change the fact of who all were on the crosses. He was crucified w/ 2 but He died with only one. The other was cleansed. He died for both but only one hid in the shadow of His wings

Second, given your opening post (OP) and the post quoted here, it seems that you intentionally asked a baited question with the intention to "correct" people with your response. I suggest that instead of trying a backhanded method of engaging with people, that you be straightforward. Nobody asked you to be the teacher. Just be a regular person. We need more of those around here. : )[/
