It seems the war is stalemated; Putin has occupied the pro-Russian areas and has now dug in, apparently with no further territorial ambitions.
Zelensky is therefore wasting his time knocking his head against the fortified line because in a war of attrition he'll run out of troops long before the much bigger Russian army does-

Nope.
Things are progressing exactly the way they should and I thought they would.
This is asymmetrical warfare. Ukraine never was going to win by having his troops face off in large scale to Russian large scale troops. IOW large scale war.
This was always going to be asymmetrical warfare....something EVERYONE wants to forget or consider to be relevant.
This war is costing Russia a LOT of money and economic prosperity. This war is also costing Putin political capital. The Ukranians have nothing to lose except for corrupt officials along the way as each of them plays their hands.
There is no winning in war. Both sides lose. They lose lives and futures and Ukraine will be cleaning up and rebuilding for decades. Russia will be paying for decades.
So...this stalemate is not happening...Ukraine keeps gaining ground albeit slowly. Russia keeps overspending on equipment and munitions because they don't have fire controls. Meanwhile the sanctions keep Russia losing ground on a daily basis.
So.
Exactly what are you talking about with this "Stalemate"?
How have international soldiers stopped fighting? How has international support for Ukraine stopped? Especially when half of the equipment and munitions haven't even been delivered.
Abrams tanks haven't even shown up yet. Tokmok hasn't even been sieged yet...it's coming but not yet. Meanwhile this "three day" special military operation hasn't succeeded and is costing Russia a lot of money they don't have.
Come up with something else...your point is moot.
