I don't like the idea of using Yahweh, Jehovah, YHWH, or versions of those when writing about God.
because the Apostles never did it
and because Jesus Christ is the only name available to humans that can save us. If the name God used for himself is available to us now, then theoretically that would save us, too.

just a quick note... oops... I don't normally use "Yahweh" when quoting bible passages... that was a cut-and-paste out of the World English Bible and I forgot to change it
PS to Dan...oft times when reading the OT I refer to the Lord as Yahweh, most times for thqaa matter...........it is one of His apellations, the one He gave to Moses...
Hi JaumeJ,
I'll be glad to talk about using "Yahweh" on another thread, this one being for praises and all...
let me know, plzzzzz!

Thank you. If there is any part of it that may facillitate anything yo wish to post, fine, go ahead, but as another post from me on the subject, I am afraid I have worn folks out on it. It is always worthy to share this only because it opens so muchunderstanding of the wisdom of our Maker. When I fist came to Jesus Christ, I was angry with everyone including the idea or Jesus Christ projected by so many so-called believers. I prayed to "You are Who You Are," and I got a response immediately, and I was led by the Fathe rto Jesus Christ..........God is One and we all understand this verly little. It is a mystery to be revealed, but for now I am content with the words of Isaiah 9;6 where the names the Child to be born to the Virgin would be called. Everlasting Father, God Almighty, Ruler of Peace, Counselor, Wonderful..........all the names of the Fasther, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Yet, God IS One, I believe all the above because Jesus says it is true.........Love in Yeshua...jack
shall I post this and my response on the Bible Discussion Forum?

I do not mind participatingin anotherthread on the subject of the titles of our Maker, but some folsk have become quite bored with my share on the subject.
Now I am not being a smart alek when I as you if you know what a gerund is in speech. If you do know it is the nominative form of an infinitie, then the following should make perfect sense.
Yahweh is the gerund form of the Hbrew ver, Hayah, or to be. It is transitive thoug, meaning Yahweh is self-existing. You may call Him Self-existing, just as Jesus may be called The Salvation of Yahweh with all accuracy.
All other names of Jesus, including Jesus, are transliterations of one language or another, including Yeshua. His disciples most likely did call Him Yeshua, but with understanding because they spoke Hebrew/Aramaic so a Hebrew name was already translated for them.
Jesus, Yesu, Iesous and any other lingual form of a transliteration of Yeshua to a language all mean, if actually taken back to the original tongue, The Salvation of Yahweh (God).
Readwhat the Angelof Yahweh said to Mary to name the Child........and why, an you will understand implicitly that what I have shared here is true. God bless you always...in Yeshua.........jack
