That was the Lord's personal angel who spoke in behalf of the Lord as a messenger of the Lord.

It was not the Lord Himself since the Lord is not an angel.

We are not one of your abused children here.
You can talk to them that way.
Not to us, who have wisdom granted by grace from God because we love God's Word.

God spoke to Moses from within the burning bush.
From within the bush where the Angel of Jehovah appeared.
The same Angel who is God who appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18.

How stupid are you?
Looks like we are going to have to endure you to find out.

(btw... stupid does not mean dumb)

........

An angel of God is still an angel, acting on God the Father's behalf, passing orders to Moses. He didn't refer to God in third person as much as a microphone doesn't refer to the speaker in third person.

And, Jesus, who is God?
Was a man!

Such a thing was meant to confuse initially.
Just don't stay there.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously
to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." James 1:5

Shalom in Christ .........

Please... Learn the difference.

You are a son (child) of God.
But?
You are by no means not THE Son of God.

Likewise?

Yes...
There are angels of Jehovah.

But what Moses witnessed to?
Was THE Angel of Jehovah.
Not 'an" angel of Jehovah.

We all have to learn to become sensitive to these details in order to discern the truth accurately.

.......
This is a false equivalence, even if it's "THE" angel of God, it's still angel, aka messenger, subject to Rev. 19:10 and Heb. 1:5. "An" angel of God, "THE" angel of God or the "Angel" of God, the word choice is up to the translator's discretion. It's the right approach to read Jesus into the OT protagonists (Joseph, Moses, David, etc.), it is the wrong approach to read Him into these theophanies, because those are God the FATHER.

It doesn't confuse me, I believe in simulation theory, i.e. the world we're living in is a simulation, God's spiritual realm is the base reality. Suppose there's a virtual world simulated on computer, you, who is human, must be simulated as a virtual character in order to operate in that world, flesh and blood is not compatible with 0s and 1s; likewise, God operates in our world as a human being.

How do I know this? God created the heavens and the earth; the heavens and the earth will pass away. These contradicts the first law of thermodynamics, that in an isolated system, no matter or energy can be created out of nothing or annihilated into nothing. God could create and annihilate because the system of the universe is NOT isolated, even though we assume it is; God operates in a spiritual realm outside of the time-space continuum.

And keep in mind that "simulation theory" is just an analogy, like all of Jesus's analogies, using something we're familar with to explain something we're not familiar with.

Pre-incarnate means pre-incarnate, whatever the angel did was God the Father's action through that angel. It's impossible for God to lie and go back on his own words, in this case, an angel being a servant of God following God's order.
Pre-incarnate= the Word Incarnate= Jesus = same Person. You failed to answer the question, Are you saying that it was impossible for the Word ( who BECAME Jesus when He put on flesh), to, as did some angels, inhabit a body, without being born of a woman? Yes or no, please.

Yes if God disregards his own rule in 1 Jn. 4:1-3; no if God follows his own rule in 1 Jn. 4:1-3. In which spirit are you confessing? "Inhabit a body" is otherwise known as "possession", that's what demonic, evil spirits do, it's their modus operandi, not God's.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

noted - but not represent clearly what I said, anyway,

1) any passage to support this?

The rest - the Hebrew passages don’t confirm Jesus died as an atonement - any passages that say that?
In the old covenant sins were atoned for (covered), yearly, with animal sacrificial blood. Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, completed His assignment given Him by the Father, was crucified, buried and raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and sprinkled His precious blood on the mercy seat as the FINAL sacrifice for the REMITTANCE of our sins. So yes, Jesus is the FINAL atonement for sin, not covered over, but remitted ( remitted: to cancel or refrain from exacting or inflicting ( a debt or punishment ). It is finished!

You have agreed, in a previous post, that angels have taken on human form, we have to be careful these days, we might entertain (entertain: to show hospitality; to hold someone's attention or interest through engaging activities) angels unaware (even TODAY they might take on human form). Are you saying that they are being possessed by demonic, evil spirits? There is no dispute that Jesus the Christ has come in the flesh, you're sounding like a broken, no scratched, record. I am referring to the Word, the preincarnate Christ, not yet manifested as Jesus. So that passage of scripture has NOTHING to do with what we are discussing and can't ( or shouldn't ) be applied here. I could be offended by your first question but I recognize the enemies traps when I see them. If you have to go there then I know that you really don't have solid reasoning behind your stance, And with that, I wish you nothing but the best.

Even when the Word came in the flesh, the world doesn't know him, how do you suppose you can figure him out BEFORE he came in the flesh? Yes, angels take on human form, but they were still angels, not God himself, see Heb. 1:5 and Rev. 19:10. Either "an" angel or "the" angel, it's a servant of God. If it's not a servant of God, it must be Satan's angel who rebels against God, that's an evil spirit.

And please understand that this is to make the distinction between God the Father and God the Son, the bible is very explicit on this, the Father is spirit and not a man, the Son is both spirit and man.

The Father is spirit and not a man, the Son is both spirit and man?

Not quite.

The Father is Deity and not a man, the Son is both Deity and man.

The Son is both Soul and Deity.
Soul is humanity!
A spirit is the essence of angels!
And, Deity is a different essence of spirit!

Angels are one kind of spirit.
Angels are not souls.

Jesus is a union of both Soul and Deity!

Please note!

Before the Incarnation?
That the one in the OT who was called the Lord God of Israel?
Was being a union of two natures.
Both Soul and Deity!
That same soul is what the Son is in the Incarnation!!!

And they began to remove the foreign gods from their midst and to serve Jehovah,
so that his soul became impatient because of the trouble of Israel. Judges 10:16

Jehovah is God.
Jehovah also has a soul in union as the Lord God of Israel!

Deity = Spirit.
Angels = spirit.
Soul = the humanity of Jesus!

Jehovah-the Lord God of Israel. Willingly denied Himself of utilizing his powers of Deity.
And then had His soul become as a man by entering the body of the one to be born of Mary!

Philippians 2:6-8
Who, though eternally existing in the essence of God,
did not consider equality with God something to be seized and held (means to violently take);
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

It is right there!
How He had been in Heaven functioning as the Lord God of Israel (being both Soul and Deity) before the Incarnation.

This requires much inner silence to think over and connect with what it says.

Grace and peace!

The Father is spirit and not a man, the Son is both spirit and man?

Not quite.
Yes quite.

"God is not a man, that He should lie; neither a son of man, that He should repent." - Num. 23:19
"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” - Jn. 4:24

Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. - Rom. 1:1-4

Yes, it did say that. You seem to want to prove the OT concept of atonement was in process in the NT fulfillment of atonement? As I said, that thought is based on the false presumption that OT atonement is still functioning as it was under the OT system?

It does not. The NT sense of Christ's atonement is him dying a martyr's death and then offering forgiveness for those who choose to live through him. The OT sense of atonement under the Law is very different, and you won't be able to prove that process continues in Christ and in the New Testament.

Heb 2.17 For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

Heb 9.11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation.

Heb 9.26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.

I get what your saying but I was looking for specific confirmation Jesus died as a atonement. Hebrew 9.26 seems to be the closest - but arguably this refers to the "the sin offering" - supported by Leviticus 5:9 LXX

9And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering on the side of the altar, but the rest of the blood he shall drop at the foot of the altar, for it is a sin-offering.

Any way many thanks

Come on now?
Are you playing a game with me?

What was a lamb used for in atonement?

YOU DON'T KNOW THAT YET?

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
For whose sake were you asking that question?

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Yes I agree to all that - that’s not the point I was looking for a specific passage

Yes all accepted any specific passage saying atonement - remittance is a different meaning

First of all, I NEVER try to " figure God out ", an exercise in futility. The Word, who manifested as Jesus on earth by putting on flesh, " humbled Himself " and became" a little lower than the angels" for the suffering of death. In His humble state don't you think He became a Servant of the Father? He said Himself that He came " to do the Fathers' will." Isn't that what a servant does? I base my beliefs on what scripture says, to the best of my ability, mostly ( I have to be honest). When the Bible says that Abram calls one of the three visitors Lord, if it was just an angel, the angel, as in other places in scripture, would have corrected him immediately, but the Angel didn't. That lets me know that it was the Lord, in human form, that ate and drank with Abram. It was the Word, veiled by flesh, who visited Abram and met face to face with Moses. It was the Father who stated no one could seer Him and live. There is no instance where I find, in scripture, the Holy Spirit indwelling a body that was not born of a woman. So if an angel, who are spirits, as stated before, can appear as men what limits have you put on God the Word to not have done the same?

Yes quite.

God is not a man.
Yet, Jesus is two natures.
Jesus is spirit in the sense of Deity.
Jesus is not spirit in the sense of angels.
Jesus therefore could not be the Angel of Jehovah.

God as God is cannot be identified with by mere men.
For God is like a foreign language to our thinking.

The solution was to make Himself knowable to man by means of the Son.
Jesus is God, being interpreted to man in human terms, so that man will be able to relate to God by means of human terms.

Consider the following please... John 1:18

No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten Son,
Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him
[He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him
and He has made Him known].

Since Jesus is both man and God in union? He will take what He, as God, knows God is.
Then interprets God to man, with man's capacity for understanding.

Jesus is in a unique position in making God knowable to us.
He acts like a supreme pastor who can exegetes the Scriptures from the original languages
(which are foreign to us) and makes it to be known.

Jesus with his humanity makes God (who was can not see) translated and knowable for us in human terms.

Without Jesus being also God? We could not know God.
For Jesus must take what is incomprehensible for man to see about God,
ands present God to us in a way that we will be able the relate to who and what God is.

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
John 14:9

Jesus is God, as God wants us to know God.
