Let's have some real practical living a life here, how do we enjoy the beautiful weekend as a believer in Christ ?

Instead of accusing others this and that, why not take life in action? Show us we are content!

I will go first.

My usual Saturday morning 🌄 workout, then usual Saturday evening tennis game.

Today a long time sister called. Then we went out for lunch. What a blessing to have sister in Christ! We talk about faith, God, church, offering, family.....

Enjoy your day!

I normally go for a run in the morning but am nursing some Achilles tendonitis so don't know when that'll get all better. I went to McDonalds for breakfast. I hung out there for a while reading an ebook that I have on the phone. Came back home and managed my empire from the laptop. In the early afternoon I went to an annual Board meeting of an organization I belong to. Shortly I'll be preparing dinner which tonight will be minced ham and eggs with cheese and buttered sourdough toast.

Let's see today I finally got caught up with my Bible reading plan, fed the dog, walked the dog, did some laundry, did some work in the garden , played some games on the computer, posted on CC, drank tea, started making more tea, went to the beach and there's a firepit all setup for a bonfire tonight. Then shower and sleep.

My weekends are usually pretty quiet and quite similar and I am actually happy with that.
When I have a weekend off, I usually leave the city and come to the countryside to spend time with my children. In the mornings I have more time to sit down, read and study the Bible. The days are mostly just normal everyday things. Doing laundry, cooking and taking care of things at home. If the weather is nice, we spend some time outside.

This weekend was a little different, though. I met my daughter’s boyfriend for the first time, so Friday and Saturday were not quite the same as our usual weekends. It was nice to meet him and spend some time together.

Nothing special or exciting, really. Just normal life. But I am thankful for these simple things. Time with my children, a quiet place to be and time to read the Bible.
I think there is a lot to be thankful for in ordinary life too.

My weekends are filled with typical everyday life -- grocery shopping (during which I often send chat friends pictures and humorous reviews of things I see in stores,) workout, chores, church, and sometimes family events.

The bakery at one store I frequent was giving out samples of the most delectable lemon cookies I've ever had -- I'm going to have to go back sometime to buy a box (and hopefully share with my neighbor so I don't eat them all!)

I usually allow myself one "bad" (fried, fatty, and sugary!) food day on the weekend -- yesterday I made spaghetti alfredo for the first time in weeks. (I prefer spaghetti noodles to the thicker fettucine.)

I've often lamented over how "boring" my weekends (and generally, my whole life) is, but talking to those with families made me think differently.

A woman I used to know who's raising 4 kids on her own once wrote me, "What you call boring -- I see as stability -- and I wish I had that in my life."

Another guy I know who's had one heck of a topsy turvy life (his wife almost died while having their baby; a family member came to help, but fought with them the whole time; he just moved his family to another country, etc.) wrote and said, "I can see that you have peace in your life -- which something I wish I had in mine -- but I don't."

Similarly, a married friend has family that is always making questionable decisions (but know better,) and she and her husband are constantly having to bail someone out, rather than getting to enjoy their life together.

When I hear stories like this... Suddenly my "boring" life doesn't seem so bad.

And when it's especially "quiet," I try to remember to thank God for the peace and stability He's blessed me with that day.

Great thread, @Churchgoer! :)

A typical Sunday peace, skip breakfast, get ready to church, singing, worshiping Lord with fellow brothers sisters, listening to sermon, tea snacks together after sermon.

Then sit down again for Sunday school, we are in 1st Corinthians.

What a blessing! Thank God!

A dip into water later to enjoy summer !!!

When I get off w*rk on Friday evenings, I go get my grocery shopping done. When I get home, I do my laundry and then make preparations for Saturday.

On Saturday's, I have a big breakfast between 10-11am. My Saturday blend coffee is run through a percolator. This day is kept aside for peace, quiet, and relaxation.
Whatever gives me some peace of mind is what I will do.

On Sundays, I go to Sunday school class to meet with some friends for study. I'll spend the rest of the day with yard/house work, and getting ready for the week ahead. It's also the time I look over the financials and make plans around that.

Over the course of the weekends, there is other bible study I do and teaching I watch... It's a good weekend plan for me.

By any chance, does your empire have a name or title? 😁

Every good empire needs an official title...

"Timber Land," perhaps? 🙃 Or maybe "Shiver Me Timbers..." 😆

I don't quite have a whole empire yet, but if I ever do, I'm thinking of calling it, "The Seoul Train Reign." 😎

a typical Saturday for my wife & i: up at about 6:00 a.m. i make our bacon-waffle country music breakfast. she indulges in tim horton coffee, for me, it's jamaican blue mountain plantation valley medium roast coffee. then we play our phone games which is spelling bee, wordle, connections, strands & lately, pips. then, clean up breakfast mess, shower & we our off on our destination. usually a museum or a historical site, sometimes a nature ride, antique shopping, lunch somewhere, then, maybe golf, bike riding, swimming, visit friends, then we finish with a dinner while out. then home around 7 or 8:00 p.m. in recent years, Sunday is rest day. she'll usually watch tv, wash clothes, complete accounting work for the farm & ordinary odds & ends. for me, on Sunday, accounting work, baseball, catch up on antique searches, rest, play some drums or read history, we do watch our favorite pastors on tv on Sunday a.m.

Well this weekend I'm thinking maybe go to the farmer's market, then there's an improv workshop I'm doing, sunday I have to do the prayer moment at church, and since it's supposed to be pretty hot imaygo down to my parents' house if the pool is still in good shape to be used. Oh and somewhere in there is the typical laundry, housecleaning, meal prep, and relaxing that needs to happen over the weekend too.

tomorrow, my wife & i will indulge in our country music breakfast, atending garage sales, shopping for antiques, ride in the country then dinner at the rain dancer restaurant in amsterdam n.y. on sunday, i will be selling my wares & antiques at creekside flea market in livingstonville new york, which is south of middleberg. if any of you CC members are close to that area, stop by & say "hi". look for a 4 door black chevy pickup truck.
