The prophets of old, which prophecies did they prophesy on that is being or has been fulfilled in Jesus and His body?

A Google search yielded these:
  • Born in Bethlehem: A ruler from Bethlehem is prophesied to come, fulfilling Jesus's birth in that city (Micah 5:2).
  • Born of a virgin: The prophecy of a virgin conceiving is fulfilled by Jesus's birth (Isaiah 7:14).
  • Named "Immanuel": The name Emmanuel, meaning "God with us," is given to Jesus (Isaiah 7:14).
  • Called out of Egypt: God calls his son out of Egypt, fulfilling Hosea 11:1.
  • Preceded by a messenger: A messenger (John the Baptist) prepares the way for the Lord, fulfilling Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1.
  • Rides a donkey into Jerusalem: Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey's colt, as predicted (Zechariah 9:9).
  • Heals the sick: He heals the blind, deaf, lame, and mute, as described in prophecies from Isaiah (Isaiah 29:18, 35:5, 35:6).
  • Is a good shepherd: Jesus is called the good shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep (Isaiah 40:10–11).
  • Proclaims good news to the poor: He fulfills Isaiah 61:1 by announcing good news to the poor.
  • Teaches in parables: Jesus uses parables to speak to those who would not listen, fulfilling a prophecy in Isaiah 6:9–10.
  • Betrayed by a friend: The betrayal by one of his own disciples is predicted (Psalms 41:9, 55:12–14).
  • Sold for 30 pieces of silver: The price for his betrayal is exactly 30 pieces of silver, as foretold (Zechariah 11:12).
  • Betrayal money given to the potter: The 30 pieces of silver are used to buy the potter's field (Zechariah 11:13).
  • Crucified: The method of his death by crucifixion is described in the Psalms (Psalms 22:16).
  • Hands and feet pierced: His hands and feet are pierced during his crucifixion, as mentioned in Psalm 22:16.
  • Given vinegar to drink: He is offered vinegar to quench his thirst on the cross (Psalm 69:21).
  • No bones are broken: None of his bones are broken during his execution, as predicted (Psalm 34:20).
  • Died with criminals: He is crucified with two criminals, fulfilling Isaiah 53:12.
  • Buried with the rich: His burial in the tomb of a rich man fulfills Isaiah 53:9.
  • Raised from the dead: His resurrection on the third day is predicted in the Psalms (Psalm 16:10).
  • Will be resurrected after three days: Simeon prophesies that Jesus's body will be resurrected after three days (John 2:18–22).

When the prophets such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, etc etc were prophesying to Israel, were they looking toward and prophesying about the New Testament/church age?

Here’s the thread @ChristRoseFromTheDead

One can take a view that there is no future role for Israel and try to appropriate all of the prophecies for the church or one can take a view that there will be a restored Israel to whom the unfulfilled prophecies will be concluded with.

The first thing to consider is that God never wanted a kingdom ruled by men. From the beginning his goal was to have a holy nation and kingdom of priests ruled by God. This was the first thing he told them when they arrived at Mt Sinai

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Exodus 19:5-6

However, God did allow Israel to become a kingdom ruled by men as a temporary measure in order to accommodate their unbelief and rejection of him as their king until such time that he could create the holy nation and kingdom of priests ruled by God, ie the kingdom of God.

And [Samuel's] sons did not walk in his ways, and turned aside after dishonest gain, and took a bribe, and perverted judgment. And all the elders of Israel gathered and came in to Samuel, to Ramah. And they said to him, Behold, you have become old, and your sons have not walked in your ways. Now appoint a king to us, to judge us, like all the nations. And the thing was evil in Samuel's eyes when they said, Give to us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to YHWH. And YHWH said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people, to all that they say to you. For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from reigning over them. 1 Samuel 8:3-7

The second thing to consider is that the progressive revelation of God begins with the natural and ends with the spiritual. This is a ubiquitous pattern throughout scripture that is never deviated from. OT scripture is filled with temporary shadows and types that point to the eternal reality of Christ and his body. First the natural, then the spiritual.

But not first the spiritual, but the natural; thereafter the spiritual. 1 Corinthians 15:46

However, the same thing is happening today as Israel did back then when they rejected spiritual rule for natural rule. It's common for Christians to disbelieve God's faithful fulfillments long ago of his words spoken through the prophets and to project their fulfillments into the future. They imagine they are being spiritual and believing God, but in reality they dishonor and deny him through unbelief by fixating on natural prophetic fulfillments rather than spiritual prophetic fulfillments.

So it seems wise to avoid this snare when interpreting prophecies by assuming spiritual fulfillments, rather than natural fulfillments, except in cases when there is an obvious natural historic fulfillment, eg, Israel's return from Babylon.

A good prophecy to start with is this Joel prophecy about the last days

And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Joel 2:28-32

Peter stated this prophecy was being fulfilled before their eyes.

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:16-21

Now watch how people will disbelieve what Peter said and say this prophecy wasn't completely fulfilled and still awaits fulfillment. They will take a spiritual vision and nitpick it to death through carnal eyes, rather than with a believing heart believe what Peter said, as if they know more than he did.

Here's another prophecy that has been, and is being, fulfilled

And there shall come many peoples and many nations to seek after the face of the LORD almighty in Jerusalem, and to atone in front of the LORD. Thus says the LORD almighty, In those days ten men shall take hold, of ones of all the languages of nations, and they shall take hold of the decorative hem of a Jewish man, saying, We shall go with you, because we have heard that God is with you. Zechariah 8:22-23

This began to be fulfilled at Pentecost when men out of every nation took hold of the hem of a Jew to learn the ways of God

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. Acts 2:5-11

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:36-38

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41

And from then onward that Zechariah prophecy has continued to be fulfilled by people out of every nation under heaven taking hold of Paul and the other apostles to learn the ways of God though their writings.

Israel is always those who take God seriously.

Here’s the thread @ChristRoseFromTheDead
“and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:20-24‬ ‭

Who is the ten men?

The prophets of old, which prophecies did they prophesy on that is being or has been fulfilled in Jesus and His body?

Isaiah 35:5-6a

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
then shall the lame man leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.

This is one of the earliest prophecies, which foretold the nature of spiritual Israel, ie, the kingdom of God.

Ephraim was Jacob's adopted half-Egyptian son whom he appointed to be his firstborn to inherit all of God's promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Because he became heir of the promises, Ephraim is used synonymously with Israel in scripture.

Jacob prophesied that the seed of Ephraim (Israel) would become a fullness of nations in fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham that he would be the father of many peoples and nations.

And [Jacob] his father refused and said, I know, my son, I know. He [Manasseh] also shall be a people, and he shall become great. But his younger brother [Ephraim] shall become greater than he, and his seed shall become a fullness of gentiles. Genesis 48:19

Jacob obviously was not referring to Ephraim"s natural seed, but to his spiritual seed, ie, those of faith. Many years later in 722 BC, natural Israel (Ephraim) was sown in death among the nations and then at the fulfillment of Pentecost was raised out of the dead as a spiritual nation when it was born from above by the holy spirit. That remnant of the seed of Ephraim formed the beginning of the vast multitude that no man can number, ie, a fullness of gentiles

With these things I saw and beheld a vast multitude which no one was able to number out of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9

@ChristRoseFromTheDead, what about Amos 9:15 or Jeremiah 32:37-44?

Amos 9:15 is referring to the resurrection when Christ brings all Israel (the believing remnant throughout the ages) with him back to the land where they will remain forever

Jeremiah 32:37-44 is referring to when God made the new covenant with Israel when they were back in the land during the Roman occupation, with possibly some "overtones" of the millenium

@ChristRoseFromTheDead, what about Amos 9:15 or Jeremiah 32:37-44?

If you back up from Amos 9:15 to verses 11-12 it's actually talking about the restoration of the tabernacle of David, which James, the brother of Jesus, says was being fulfilled in that time. I used the Septuagint version for Amos because that is what James is quoting from

In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and will rebuild the ruins of it, and will set up the parts thereof that have been broken down, and will build it up as in the ancient days: that the remnant of men, and all the Gentiles upon whom my name is called, may earnestly seek me, saith the Lord who does all these things. Amos 9:11-15

Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Acts 15:14-17
